I have downloaded the trial twice and both times the install is almost finished and then there is an error which I never see a message and then it starts rolling back the installation.

Why does the Adobe Updater keep failing? I close my Webroot antivirus app and the update keeps failing for the Extension Manager 6.0.8 Update. The message is "Extension Manager 6.0.8 Update Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7". Please make sure that you're logged in as an administrator, and that any antivirus software on your system is disabled. Then, trying downloading Acrobat from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X, and run the installer.

It is possible that the toner cartridge still has some packaging on it or that it isn't fully secured in place. I would try completely removing the toner cartridge from the printer and taking a look at the steps in the document found here. The document has steps to troubleshoot when an 'Install Black Cartridge' error is present on the display.

Why does iTunes 64-bit install in the 32-bit Program Files folder?

If "iTunes 8.2.1 for Windows (64 bit)" is really a 64 bit application then why does the installer want to put the program into C:\Program Files (x86)\ on Vista 64-bit instead of C:\Program Files\? Is this just sloppy work by the Apple programmers or is this the first sign of potentially more problems with iTunes 64-bit?

Why does PS Extended CS5 installation fail?

I have been trying repeatedly to install a full version of Photoshop CS5 Extended on my Windows 7 64 bit PC but it hangs with the Error 6 message (see below). Adobe support has not yet been able to solve the problem but they are tending to suspect Microsoft. I have tried cleaning the registry, installing after booting in Safe mode.....etc

Interesting.
Try running the command sfc /scannow at a elevated command prompt.
Click on start and type in cmd. You will be offered cmd.exe. Right click on that and choose run as Admin. When the black looking window opens type in sfc /scannow and hit enter. What this will do is locate any defective windows files on your computer and attempt to repair them. Have your Windows 7 disk ready incase the system asks you to insert it in your dvd.
Least we can rule the system as being good.

CP5 trial install fails after beta

We are attempting to install Cp5 on an OSX machine that previously had the Cp5 beta installed. The Beta was deleted but not properly uninstalled using the uninstall software. The Cp5 trial install still detects the old software. Any suggestions to remove the remnants of the beta to allow the new install?

We found the original DMG, reinstalled the beta and then uninstalled. That solved the problem.

Why does every attempt at installing CC Desktop App (update) fail?

I have been with Adobe Creative Cloud for a few months but lately when CC says an update for the desktop app is ready for download it will nearly finish installing but always end in this dialog: "We've encountered the following issues: Creative Cloud desktop failed to install" or this one, "Administrator privileges are required to continue with the installation."

If you remove the cloud desktop app altogether do updates show in the individual programmes as that seems to use adobe update manager?
If adobe are going to insist on an internet connection then they have to get their back end system to be reliable. They can't claim it is our internet connections that are the issue when it is *only* their software that is problematic to upgrade. Everyone else's loads fine and updates fine. No fuss, no drama. Properly written installations allow admin authentication from a user account and work via firewalls. Even with the firewall off CC won't update the desktop version so I have uninstalled it completely and won't be reinstalling it until a proper version is released that works reliably.

Why does apple let you install the update if it's just going to fail?

I got the 3GS maybe a month ago. I had issues running updates on my old iphone (the original) and used to have to go into apple's genius bar in order to do updates. I was sort of hoping that the updates would run fine on the 3GS, but 3.1.2 failed for me.
Anyways, it gave me some error code and I followed the link to kb article TS1275: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
From there I discovered that port 443 wasn't open on my computer and that was probably the problem. So I opened it up and I'm trying to run the update again (although so far nothing is happening).
My question is this: why would itunes let me try to run the update at all if I didn't meet the prerequisites? Since the update is obviously going to fail if port 443 is closed, why doesn't it verify that I have the port open before it tries to update?
I'm just a little peeved that I have to drive an hour to go see the geniuses (yet again).
