Why does email announcement give wrong URL (iWeb 3.0.2)

I just completed the first draft of a new site, hosted on mobileMe, using the latest version of iWeb 09, 3.0.2. I accepted the invitation for the program to generate an announcement email, but the URL it generated just pointed to my generic web address on MobileMe, so that a browser using this link picks up the first site on my iDisk, not the new one. I was able to work out the correct URL by adding the specific name of my new site with underscores replacing spaces, and thus alter the announcement email, but why did this happen? I think it may be a bug and have reported it, but maybe it's something I did. Any ideas?

  • Why does my airport give wrong default gateway dhcp?

I have a fancy AirPort Extreme Base Station running 7.7.3.
It was recommended as a very good wireless access point, which it is, purely in terms of signal strength and connectivity.
In terms of easy configuration, this thing is a nightmare. Someone once told me, "Get Apple products, they just WORK!" Not in this case. I am using the base station to provide access on my home network wirelessly and wired on the same layer 2. DHCP is assigning 192.168.1.250 as the default gateway, but the IP of the base station is 192.168.1.1, so none of my hosts on DHCP are able to get Internet. I cannot find or see a way to correct the DHCP gateway assignment.
In addition, I have a single wired Windows host. It does not get the DHCP reservation I set up for it. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. MAC is right. ipconfig /release and /renew fails to assign the correct address every time tho.
I have one Mac in the house. It too fails to obtain the right gateway IP. My question: why is the base station assigning 192.168.1.250 as a gateway when it's own internal IP is 192.168.1.1????
I have owned many home access points. This is the first one I couldn't assign the internal IP to as a gateway address, and I can't assign a specific subnet mask to pair down the broadcast domain. Why are the options to configure my internal network so limited?

So it will be easy to configure.
Sadly this means there is no way to fix things when they go wrong.
How did you manage to get 192.168.1.x .. as the default IP of the TC is 10.0.1.1 and it is well worth leaving it alone.
Post a few screenshots and we can help you fix it up. Mostly.. probably.
So the default is 10.0.1.1, but I didn't want an entire class A range wide open on my home network, so I chose the class C 192.168.X.X (why is Apple still doing classful networks?!?)
Here's some helpful screenshots, starting with the opening screen.... note the router's IP:
This is my AirPort's basic info, and the networks. There are two ethernet ports in back, one connected to the cable modem, the other to BADGER, my PC. BADGER will be the example in all my DHCP woes...:
This is BADGER's manually assigned IP info. I would like to set up a reservation for it on the AirPort so I can just switch it to DHCP and be done.
As you can see, my gateway is 192.168.1.1, which is the internal IP of the AirPort extreme. I use public DNS servers, so I add those manually on the PC. So, using this info, I create the reservation:
Here you can see the DHCP scope I've assigned: .1.2-.1.50. I also set up a reservation for BADGER. No where on here is a way to specify the router's internal IP, which is 192.168.1.1 - it's the only gateway address that works. There's also no way to apply a more restrictive subnet mask to limit the number of hosts on my internal side, but that's another issue. Moving on...
I apply the reservation. I click update. The AirPort extreme router updates itself. I switch BADGER to DHCP, and release/renew. Here's where it gets interesting:
Here's what the router wants to assign me. The MAC address is the same as in the reservation, but the AirPort Extreme gives me 192.168.1.129? That's not even in the range I defined. Also, note the gateway address. It wants to assign 192.168.1.250 ... but that's wrong, as indicated by the lack of network connectivity in the system tray. If I configure my PC to use 192.168.1.1, then traffic routes off my home network just fine because that's the internal IP of the AirPort Extreme. So, without getting into this product's shortcomings as an actual configurable home router:
    - Why does it assign its gateway as 192.168.1.250 when it's really 192.168.1.1?
    - Why does it ignore my DHCP reservation and assign a completely out-of-scope IP?
All of my devices are getting .250 as the gateway. Wireless and BADGER, even my lone Mac. Can anyone shed some light?

  • Why does my web page, created on iWeb, look correct on Safari but has thick black lines all over it in Firefox?

Why does my web page, created on iWeb, look correct on Safari but has thick black lines all over it in Firefox?

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?  I assume those black lines are around photos or objects that have had a frame or drop shadow added to it, right?  If so that's a known issue.
There's a workaround for that in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single Image File.  That should get rid of those black lines/boxes.

  • Why does my application give SerializationException although I have no serialized classes?

I have created an application deployment tool for BizTalk, and it references and uses Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM apis to start, stop and manage a BizTalk application. Now when I run the tool, it gives following exception-
Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type 'Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM.BtsCatalogExplorer' in Assembly 'Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM, Version=3.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' is not marked as serializable.
None of my classes are defined to be serializable. And the tool is created in WPF. Any idea how I might resolve this?

    Hi,
I think the user has got this resolved at stackoverflow already.
Why does my application give SerializationException although I have no serialized classes?
Resolution: He was creating the instance of BtsCatalogExplorer through reflection, using connection
    string instead solves the issue.

  • I have an iPod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album art only on my ipod and not on itunes? Is there any way I can fix it?

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album artwork on my ipod and it's fine on itunes. why is that and is there any way to fix it? please help!

I think it can't find the right or any artwork and ends up putting junk in there.
And can happen with artist and other tags.
probably fine with commercial media but otherwise....? I think you have to manaully go in and edit
I also don't like how it handles and stores non-Apple iTunes store content.

You appear to have AVG installed:
    *See --> http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=173969#post_173969
From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.
The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.

  • Why does iTunes not give an error message for wrong type of movie file

I just spent an hour trying to get iTunes to import a movie type which it doesn't understand. Why on earth does it just fail silently instead of giving an error message about incompatible file type ? It was my own stupid fault, but I am so used to getting quirky errors in iTunes that I overlooked the obvious and started going up blind alleys. Is there some preference somewhere that can change this way of working.

Have you tried downloading the apps on your computer and syncing?
The message means what it says. Yu do not see the "artwork" for the app.

  • Why does email hypertext in PDF open web browser window in addition to email client?

Using FrameMaker 10, I created the following hypertext: message URL mailto:[email protected] I then printed to PDF. When I click the link in the PDF it opens an email client message window (what I want) but also opens a web browser window with mailto:[email protected] in the address bar (what I don't want). Why would it open both? I don't know if this is a Frame issue (more likely), an Acrobat issue (less likely), or a browser issue (not likely). I hope I'm just missing something easy here.

Should have given the following info earlier...running Win 7 64-bit with Outlook 2010 and Acrobat X Pro. That being said the path to verify "mailto" is different but it is set up fine. Same with Acrobat X Pro...settings are fine.
Also, in reply to Harry28586 this is happening with Firefox, not IE (I should have mentioned that as well).
I've found plenty of threads searching online regarding issues with email links in Acrobat on Win 7 machines with Outlook...many suggest editing the registry. I have no problem doing that but this is a work laptop and we have a don't-fix-it-yourself policy. So I'll keep looking. Thanks for all the suggestions.

  • BT Yahoo Email changes ? Why does email not displa...

I'm aware that BT have announced their email system is being altered but cannot understand why email received through Outlook Express does not now display correctly. Have BT introduced some Antispam/Antivirus software ? Nearly all messages now display all the header details of the email and the original email is buried in there - WHY ? Nothing has changed on the computer so it has to be to do with BT. An explanation would be appreciated.
Anyone got any idea what BT have done ?

I have spoken to Stephen Hare from Critical Path and he assures me that they will disable the header insert.
