All the other sites open in regular size font as usual except Facebook, it is magnified or zoomed when I open it

hello bluyacht, try to press ctrl+0 ('zero') while you're on the page in order to reset the zoom level for that page or in case this doesn't work also go through the other common troubleshooting steps at [[Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should]]

Try moving the com.apple.addressBook.plist to your Desktop and start Contacts.
To get there, hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu in Finder. Then, navigate to Preferences folder.

Why does the "alert" noise sound when I open applications?

When I first got this mac, it did not sound when I opened applications, so it's definitely not normal.
I also do not think that this is a type of setting that can be changed, and if it was, I surely did not set it (and nobody else has access to my computer)
I don't know if this is a virus?

Not quite the same issue as yours... But I sometimes get the Alert sound when closing Multiple Windows...
What I do is simply Log Out and then Back In again and it's gone...
( I did Bug Report this to Apple Months ago... )

I noticed that my music turns off when I open safari on my iPhone 5c. What's the deal?

I figured out this will happen if any of the pages that are open in safari on your phone are open to a page that contains media. Note this means any page regardless of whether it's the one you are viewing. So if you go to a site that has media, then open a new browser window and go to a page that doesn't have media and then open iTunes and play a song...when you switch back to safari, the music will stop. If you close the first browser window and try it again...the music will continue to play.

Why does a loading bar appear when i open pages? it does not go away and does not allow me to close the app while it is up.

when i open my pages app a loading bar appears and cannot be removed. i have waited two and a half hors for whatever it is to load and i finally just had to force the program to close through the activity monitor. But this problem persists... every time i open the app the loading bar haunts me. i can still edit the document but the loading bar is still "layered" in front of the open app. my final question is, how do i get rid of this loading bar and what is it for?

It sounds as though Pages is trying to resume editing a bad document, or a very large one. Quit Pages, Force Quit if necessary, and then start it up again while holding down the Shift key to prevent reopening formerly open documents.

HT1665 Why does music come out muddled and echoing in alarm mode when the iPhone is connected to the Bose SoundDock lll?

There is a very unique problem with the iPhone 5 and iPad mini when connected to the Bose SoundDock III.
In normal music playback, music sounds great coming out of the Bose SoundDock, but, when a song is chosen for the Apple Alarm App and turns on when the alarm goes off, the music sounds terrible. It reverberates, echoes, is muddled, sounds messy.
What is so odd about this is the same sound coming out of a speaker-device connected to the phone's headphone jack sounds perfect, and as intended.
It only has this issue when it is in alarm mode and it's connected via the lighting port connector.
Is this an Apple software glitch that wasn't researched fully or a manufacturing defect on the Bose end?
I've tried a couple Bose systems so it isn't peculiar to one SoundDock.
What are your thoughts?

Check Settings > General > Cellular > Cellular Data and make sure it's "On".

Why does Bridge blow out thumbnails when adding new images?

Using Win 7 (64b) with CS6 and Bridge 5.0.2.4 x64 (CS6). I use Bridge in my workflow to catalog and tag images. I added 7000+ older photos in various file formats, Canon CR2, TIF, JPG, and PSD to my single directory containing all shots. As Bridge created thumbnails for all newly added shots, everything was looking good but then I noticed Bridge went back and lightened many of the thumbnails by ~ 1 EV. A few images were lightened by as much 2-3 EV and unusable (non-identifiable images).
When launching the non-identifiable image in Photoshop CS6 from bridge, tonal values and exposure are just fine. The images can be edited and saved. Tried solving by deleting image from directory. then restoring it (with different filename) before restarting Bridge. In one case, it worked. The newly renamed and regenerated thumbnail was fine. In other cases, no matter what I do, the image blows out.
This is quite frustrating. Thumbnails just plain look bad. Don't have a lot more hair to pull.

Hmmm. That's not very convenient and it doesn't prevent my mistake. At the cost of a lot more typing, it can prevent other scripts from accidentally referencing or colliding with your variable names, but it doesn't prevent you from accidentally colliding with other people's variables if you leave off the object qualifier when you are typing.
When I saw a reference to namespaces in something I was reading, It thought it was more like real namespaces (e.g. C++ namespaces) where you define a scope where all declared or referenced variables are automatically in that namespace unless they are explicitly referenced/declared otherwise. Does JavaScript not have that capability?
It would be more like this:
namespace MyProgram {
var i = 3;
// lots of other code here
With a real namespace, "i" wouldn't be a global variable. It's real name/declaration would be MyProgram.i or MyProgram::i depending upon the syntax.
Does JavaScript not have real namespaces?
I get that I can explicitly declare everything to a scope of MyProgram to simulate some benefits of namespaces, but that's a lot of extra typing and, presumably a bunch of extra work for the interpreter since there's at least one extra dictionary lookup for every variable or function reference.

Why does Facebook tag multiple times when uploaded through Aperture?

Hi all,
The past few times I've uploaded photos to Facebook via Aperture 3's (current version) integrated uploader it tags people several times, but not in the same way it used to (with the blue link) and don't lead to profiles. This only occurs when someone is tagged within Aperture.
I can't delete these tags on Facebook and I've only tagged them once in Aperture.
See the screen shot for an example. In the image, only I am tagged since Aperture didn't pull her face as a face. She was tagged manually (as was I, the blue link vs the black tags) and I blocked that out.
Anyone know a fix or what gives?

Why does amplitude come out as zero?

Hi,
I want to measure peak to peak of a square signal (0.1- 2Vac). I generate and aquire the signal using a USB-6008.
I have tried to do this in various ways as you can see in the attachments, but all I get is zero. The signal is being read perfectly.
Any idea what is wrong?

Are you sure the device name is set correctly? How are you running this? Why are none of you error out terminals wired, e.g. even to an indicator.

OK, were you trying to use drawRect() to erase the ball? That won't work since the new ball might not be in the same rectangle as the old one. Try this:public void paint(Graphics g)

Why does my photo look posterized when I open it in CS6?

When opening a picture in CS6, either from Bridge or just from File, open in CS6, they have this 60's posterized look on most of the picture. Settings are 8 bit, RGB, haven't changed any settings and even reinstalled CS6 over the old CS6, but still doing it. Was fine for a long time, just started doing this. I did upgrade to OnOne Perfect Layers 7 recently. That program has had a history of bugginess, I may delete it . But first I was hoping there was some simple fix you might know of. Thank you
