Why does 'Facebook Like Box' not show up in Safari (while it does on Chrome, IE, Firefox and Opera).

I put a 'Facebook Like Box' on my homepage (social plugin implemented as iFrame). It is supposed to stream the events on my facebook page to my homepage. There is no problem visualizing it on other browsers (InternetExplorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera) but Safari shows the page without any trace of the fb like box. I run Safari 6.0.2 and have the latest Java updates installed.
Can anybody help me out with some explanation what and why this is happening and how I might correct this behavior??

I had the same problem on my Iphone 5. It drove me crazy. I tried reinstalling ITunes and my apple mobile device driver, but nothing solved the problem. I was able to detect my iphone in windows if I went to control panel, then programs and features, found apple mobile device, right click, then click repair. This would allow windows explorer to detect my iphone, but I had to do this every time and it also drove me crazy, After trying everything I could think of, I decided to try and uninstall a program called expresso media. I am not sure where it even came from, but walla, once I uninstalled it my iphone shows up in explorer and iTunes just like it should. Simple but frustrating. Good luck,

    We own a website and all of a sudden the Facebook Like button stop showing on the site in FF. In other browsers it is showing and working but not in FF v 11.

  • Facebook "Likes" numbers not showing with Safari Browser

    I have a Facebook "Likes" button on my website. The number of "Likes" appear when I look at the site through IE or Mozilla...but not Safari.
    At first I thought it was an iPhone (Verizon) and iPad (first gen) problem...but it is the same on my Dell PC.
    Through Safari, the icon remains at "Be the first of your friends to like this". Refreshing, clearing history, cache, cookies...still the same.
    Viewed through the other browsers, the number of "likes" appears every time.
    Does anyone have a solution and/or idea?

    I am replying to my own question. My website is built through Intuit for business.
    I have received a response to my query on their help board stating that the Intuit web builder is geared to IE and Mozilla.
    I have pointed out that their number of "likes" appears on their Intuit main page when viewed through Safari, and have asked when they plan to update the problem for their website builder client base in order that it work the same for Safari users.
    Given the number of iPhones, iPads and Macs out there, I an surprised that they have not done so already.
    I will post back with any updates.

  • File Save dialog box not showing correct file name while saving file

    hi
    Currently, after the Submit button is hit, the File Save dialog box is displayed. If the user saves the file and then opens it then the output appears correct however if the user chooses to open the file without saving on the local machine then the correct viewer is not used to display the file. The name of the file is defaulted as qotSCopPrint.jsp and the default file viewer for jsp files is chosen to view the file. The format of the file is obviously not text (it is either pdf or rtf) so the output shows binary characters.

  • Hello I am getting some nasty popups on safari. looks like malware. virtually all menus on safari are frozen out. Search with firefox and followed some directions to use the activity monitor to force quit these processes and it was no use.

    malware on safari. tried activity monitor > force quit but they just popped back up. Please help.

    wow thanks holding down the shift key worked. Is there anything else I should do know?
    The problem wasn't in quitting safari but everyone time I opened it, that crap would pop up. Should I be able to use it now without holding down shift?

  • Facebook Like Box does not show in Safari or IE.

    I am trying to add a feed from my client's Facebook page. It works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, but not Safari or Internet Explorer.
    The site is posted at:
    http://pcbasics.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
    I wish you guys could create an easy, RELIABLE way to add Facebook feeds.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I HAVE FOUND A PARTIAL SOLUTION!!
    I also administer the Facebook page for PCBasics. When I copied the address from Firefox (my default browser) the address is "https:" but when I look up the address on FB with a different browser, it gives me "http:"
    Just removing the S in the address in the HTML for the facebook like box has partially fixed the problem. Now it appears correctly in Safari. But I just installed Chrome on my Mac to test it, and the like box still will not appear. (And yes I cleared the cache.)
    One other point... I am using Chrome to view the Facebook Developer page to get the code (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/) and the like box does not appear when I enter the address http://www.facebook.com/pcbasicsllc OR https://www.facebook.com/pcbasicsllc. Anyone know why that would be?

    Why does the calender do not show the right time if you want to choose 10, 11, 12 o'clock or any other time with 1x:00? It only shows 1:00 and there is no way to change the time to 1x:00.

    Ok well you need to get your facts straight. You say the reason to upgrade to OS 4 but half of these have to do with the new iPhone 4 and not the OS. Two totally different issues

  • Why are new Facebook features not showing up in Safari?

    Facebook added some features recently and the are not showing up in Safari. They show up and work fine on every other browser I've tried. I am not using any extensions in Safari.
    Anyone else having this issue?

    Same problem here, just started yesterday. It's not Safari, it's Facebook. The sooner FB members report this as a bug the sooner a fix.

  • Why is the software update not showing up in general settings?

    Why does my software update not show up in general settings?

    If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.1.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
    You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

    iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
    If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
    Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 7.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
    Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
    How to Upgrade to iOS 7
    The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
    There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
    Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
    Go into the iPad's Settings.
    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
    First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
    You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
    Now you are ready to begin the process:
    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Hello, why is all of my music on my iphone but only a few songs on my itunes on my laptop? it seems like its not updating on my laptop because it still says i have credit and i know i that there isnt any please help thanks

    hello, why is all of my music on my iphone but only a few songs on my itunes on my laptop? it seems like its not updating on my laptop because it still says i have credit and i know i that there isnt any please help thanks

    If they are iTunes purchases that you bought on your phone then have you copied them over from it to your computer's iTunes ? If that is the computer that you sync the phone to then you should be able to copy them over by connecting it and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. Or (depending upon what country that you are in) you might be able to redownload them directly on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.
    In terms of your account's balance, have you tried logging out of your account on your computer (Store > Sign Out menu option) and then logging back in (it will change to a Store > Sign In option) and seeing if your balance changes ?

  • Facebook Like box code for Muse

    I need to know how to add a Facebook Like box to my Muse home page. When obtaining this code, there are two items of code to paste:
    1. Include the JavaScript SDK on your page once, ideally right after the opening <body> tag.
    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>(function(d, s, id) {
      var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
      if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
      js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
      js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1";
      fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
    }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>
    2. Place the code for your plugin wherever you want the plugin to appear on your page.
    <div class="fb-like" data-href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/(your_page_url)" data-send="true" data-width="450" data-show-faces="false"></div>
    Where do each of these items go?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response. I inserted the #2 code - with my Facebook page actual web URL rather than "(your_page_url)" - in the Edit HTML box as you suggested. A small grayish HTML box appeared on the page in Design view.
    In Preview, however, there is no visible indication of a Facebook Like button.
