Why does FCP show 1440x1080 and Quicktime says 1920x1080 for SAME CLIP ?

I'm pulling in footage via Firewire off a SONY HDR-HC3 camera. Manual says resolution is 1920x1080, yet when I set up my project (HDV 1080i) the clips come in and say, 1440x1080.
Is there serious compression loss happening in the process?

No...this is called ANAMORPHIC footage. It is squeezed virtically on the tape, but in FCP it is stretched back out to proper dimensions.

Why does Adobe Manager download and install 2 of the same programs?

Am I suppose to get more than one icon for each app? I have a (64bit) and it appears a 32bit both install when I download with Adobe Manager.
I have a fresh install of windows 8. -- probably the issue -- an upgrade from win7. I completely uninstalled all apps, did a fresh install of my upgrade, and kept no files, or settings. It however, did keep somethings with the new window.
Looking in my program list, I have the same program listed in (program files), and in ((86program files)), there is the 64bit program.
It seriously looks like I am downloading and insalling two seperate versions.... why?
I do have another desktop computer, which is older, and running window xp, and it is a 32bit system.
The main cpu I am using is a Dell.... (maybe that's the problem) laptop, Inspiron 1545

For which application are you seeing two versions?
Photoshop installs both 32 and 64 bit versions on a 64-bit system when installing from the Adobe Application Manager using the Creative Cloud subscription.

What do you do when you get this pop up? Click cancel and then proceed to burn to disc successfully with Premiere Elements and its burn software and your burner?
Lots of questions and details needed to help.
1. What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running?
2. What are the properties of your source media and what have you or the program set as the project preset?
3. What are you doing with the burn to feature...burn to DVD, burn to AVCHD on DVD, or burn to Blu-ray?
4. What do you click on to get the Realplayer pop up...Publish+Share or Disc or DVD or AVCHD or Blu-ray?
5. When all this is happening what does the burn dialog show for burner location? Does it show the burner into which you placed your disc?
Those are some of the types of questions that need answers in order to put together some troubleshooting strategy to help you.
Be sure to look into how you have your computer set up for Default Programs and AutoPlays as a background for all the rest.

You need to go back to the person you bought it from. Sounds like they may have sold you phone that is not as described.
Did you check the warranty status before purchasing it?

Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
Any advice gratefully received!

Why does Adobe sendnow work and the newest and greatest Adobe Send does not work? I wasted about 8 hours on trying to get Adobe Send to upload 269 files that amounted to 469MB. When it did not work I made a zip file and after a lot of wasted run time that did not work. The first situation gives little indication of when a file is loaded compared to Adobe SendNow. In both cases with Send it failed with a message like only the first 50 can be loaded. When I went and looked none of them had been loaded. With the zip file (I wanted to hide the individual files so they would not be counted) it appeared to work but very slowly and finally said it was done and I went and looked and it had done anything for oever 2 hours except a false "I'm runninng" indication.
Thus, I took a chance with Adobe SendNow and it works great. It never gave me a limit on the amount of files nor on the size of the complete job. It shows me one file at a time when it has finished with the file uploading it. SendNow has never given me any problems.
Why woiuld you want to change the program from SendNow to Send without the newest program being the best, fastest, user friendly program of the two? It just doesn't make sense to me. I suggest that Adobe keep SendNow working until Send is fixed. I would also suggest that SendNow and how it looks be kept, called Send, then modify Send one thing at a time until you get it to the point you need it to be for Acrobat. I have heard nothing good and now I have experienced it that Send is a piece of junk. I wasted most of my work day on giving Adobe the benefit of the doubt to find out I made a very bad decision to trust Adobe to make good decisions on the transfer of a function to another place .... both Adobe's responsibility.without making it painless for your customers that totally rely on you. Don't throw away customer confidence as it is very hard to get it back.

Yep! Verizon living up to it's contractual obligations by not releasing updates. Caveat emptor!
I think there are some reasonable expectations here to keep customer's happy. When one carrier offers upgrades there is an expectation the same will happen across all the carriers. We have seen that except Big Red.
Verizon could have said the update is in MS court months ago and stilled the voice of the disgruntled, or at least redirected it, but instead chose to be silent. Not for market share but for partial blame I think.
We will have to agree to disagree since you only see Terms & Conditions and I, see customer satisfaction.

Why does firefox show up as a plugin on volume mixer? After updating a flash plugin into firefox (when it had requested me to update it), it no longer shows up as firefox in volume mixer. It now shows up as some plugin icon. I really don't understand this, and wish it to be the firefox icon again. What is going on and what happened? It names itself "Plugin Container For Firefox" What does that mean? It has been this way ever since, and nothing I have done has fixed this. Restarting, refreshing, reinstalling, clearing cache, etc. Can anyone think of something please? :(
