Why does Finder sometimes show folders instead of categories?

I think it has something to do with dragging and dropping.

it does, I've seen this glitch before!!
I can only assume a few things.
If you create the file while you have the window open, such as save it while you have it open, it will do this.
So say I'm on photoshop and it turns to midnight before I save my next file. The line breaks (is what I call them) appear to indicate one file was made yesterday and the other today. However, the line break graphic doesn't occur, they come up as blank folders.
the solution is to close all finder window, relaunch finder, toggle the view or killAll Dock in terminal. I've found any number of these to fix the issue.
This is a bug in lion so since you experienced it too it means a whole slew of people are as well. In this type of situation, where someone else has comfirmed it to be a bug, you can send feedback about it directly to apple (as have I) http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Recently, using FF 3.6.8 and 3.6.9, after I've used Ashampoo Magic Optimizer, certain news websites only show up in a bullet-pointed low-resolution text without any graphics. Other websites appear in their normal way. Accessing these lo-res websites via IE browser, they all appear in their full-resolution normal way. Then, some days later, it all comes right again on Firefox.
This may be related to session restore.

I know how to import CD's but I have some compilation CD's that show in my library as Various Artists but other compilations in the library are at the end. As far as I can see, they are all ticked as compilations but I can't get them all in the same place.
Anyone offer a solution?Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix split albums. For compilations of tracks by different artists set the album artist to Various Artists and also set Part of a compilation to Yes on the Options tab if using the old dialog box (hold down shift when you Get Info) or tick Album is a compilation of songs by various artists if using the new one.

Essentially, that's the error bar of the location, indicating that your friend has not be accurately loccated.

Welcome to our family. We want you to be able to enjoy all the services we provide and we definitely need to address this. Do you receive/make calls without problems? Are you able to receive messages with your contacts' number? Are you using iMessages? If so, go to Settings>Messages>Send&Receive>only your phone number should be enabled.

Why does it sometimes take 30 seconds for the dock to come up after bringing the curser to the bottom of the page?
Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn't work.
You need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/ Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible. -

Without your password it would provide no security and anyone could then hack into your phone if the found it or stole it.

i don't know why...Sometimes it can be something very simple and easy to fix. Before you get into any involved troubleshooting, quit iTunes, restart your Mac, restart your iPad and then try to sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If this doesn't work, then try the more involved stuff. -
My IPOD Classic Video 5. Gen. showed videos, but now it does no longer show them, instead i see a black picture on my IPOD and it doesn`t work. I have to restart it every time, i try it. i restore the software with itunes, but the problem still exists.
The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -

i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.
