Why does Firefox DRAG when editing files online?
2nd request for help.. :)
Why does firefox 9 drag when either editing files online, or entering code into a description box. The more FF thinks there are spelling errors, the worse the dragging becomes. Sometimes it is so bad the mouse cursor is stuck to the screen.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

Why does firefox hang when opening and takes several minutes to come up?
Why does Firefox hang for several minutes before coming up?
I am also having this problem. When trying to reboot, I get an endless cycle of the BIOS screen, then "MACHINE ERROR", then back. Running the same dmesg command as snoxu results in a similar error message. I am forced to shutdown by holding the power button. Upon rebooting, I get an error message that all extensions have been turned off (using Gnome Shell). Then I have to logout and login.
Shutting down and then restarting works fine.

For several weeks we have been working with Oracle support to find out why our Firefox browser hangs for 20-30 seconds when connecting to SSL content on 10.3.6 WebLogic only when JSSE is enabled. It occurs when first attempting to connect to an enterprise WebLogic deployment. When JSSE is disabled the problem does not occur but JSSE must be enabled on WebLogic for our configuration. The problem also does 'not' occur when JSSE is enabled when using IE (8). In 10.3.5 WebLogic, the issue does not occur with Firefox but 10.3.6 is our preferred version and this is a major issue for us.
For the Firefox version, we used version 18 and 17 with no difference. Thanks for your help.Hi,
I did remove the entry and restarted the managed server, but nodemanager added the option again.
Regarding startup.properties, it doesn't have any ssl configuration:

Why does Firefox start when I open Dreamweaver after I unstalled Firefox
I uninstalled Firefox, yet when I open Dreamweaver Firefox loads immediately. Why?
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== After installing Firefox ==
== User Agent ==
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_3; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/533.16I completely uninstalled the printer and drivers and restarted the computer. I then uninstalled and then reinstalled Firefox 7.0.1, restarted the computer and then reinstalled the printer (from the previously downloaded exe file, because I don't have the CD for the printer). Unfortunately, neither of those things worked, but I did notice that when I uninstalled Firefox, it asked if I wanted to save settings, and I said yes and it seemed to remember the Dell 720 printer in the "about:config" menu. So, maybe uninstalling Firefox without saving settings would make a difference. What do you think? Also, I just noticed in the "Add or Remove Programs" menu in control panel that the icon next to "Dell Photo Printer 720" is a little recycle bin, which seems a bit odd. On the dell.com forum, someone suggested using Firefox 5.0.1, available at a different website. Is this worth a shot or are there other more conservative troubleshooting suggestions to try first?

Why does firefox crash when the internet connection is lost?
We have been having trouble with our internet connection recently and firefox crashes whenever the connection is lost, but this didn't used to happen, so I was wondering why this was happening.
If there is any intermittent issues or connection is lost you will revert to the menu, regardless. The 'apps' are fed via server and there is nothing stored on the unit, it simply caches when you are online.
As for the initial wait time. That could be due to ISP throttling, interference, using another DNS

Why does Firefox crashes when viewing Google Images?
I was having six tabs open, one is an online pdf and two are from Google Images while the rest are forum tabs. The Firefox (ver 19 which I'm using currently) lags whenever I search for images using Google and in seemingly random occurrence, it will cause the Firefox to immediately crash with no warning. I had lost a significant portion of my time in composing emails and searching for information due to this unexpected error and it had occurred for past three versions of Firefox for me, pointing at the same initial triggers, having Google Images tab open. Checking the crash reporter reveals nothing as it stated "EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump." I hope the Mozilla team would immediately rectify this problem as it's quite annoying--and time wasting.

Firefox crashes when I open Adobe (pdf) ALL plug ins are up to date as is FF
This is a known issue with Adobe Reader, and it depends on Adobe updating their plugin.
Whilst you're waiting for Adobe to fix their plugin, you can disable it and fallback to the default PDF reader in Firefox by following these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you. -
Why does firefox crash when I print twice?
When printing any webpage from firefox, if I cancel the print command and try to print again, it crashes, and sometimes it crashes on the first attempt. I tried everything suggested on Mozilla troubleshooting website, and finally removed every firefox/mozilla file and re-installed new version of Firefox, but new version still has the same problem. Found other users online with same or similar issue, but no real solutions yet. Using Canon MX700 printer. Could it be a printer plugin? Any help appreciated
Check your print queue in your system preferences and make sure it is not jammed up with prior
print jobs that have not gone thru. After that I would shut the computer down, restart it by holding down the power button until your hear a long tone. If that does not work make sure your reinstall the print drivers that came with your Canon printer. Check the printer setting in the system prefs and make sure all settings are correct.
PS - keep in mind that sometimes PDF files and other files can become corrupt which will cause print hangs also! -
Frequently after I have been viewing numerous sites on firefox, when I close down the last window and try to reopen firefox, I am told that the program is already running and needs to be shut down. Using Task Manager is not useful, since task manager doesn't show the program as up and running. The only way to get the program to close so it can be used for a different subject is to reboot the computer. This is happening 10 - 12 times a week now, and gradually getting worse. This closes out everything I have open, making it necessary to save all opened files BEFORE I reboot, and then going back to reopen all of them. None of the other questions I've seem point to this particular quirk in the problem.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up.

From what I have been reading from other posts on this forum, the

to have been fixed in v30.

I usually have more than one tabs up and ready when I'm searching the web. But when I look at my mail or when a new window is opened if I click the "X" all of my windows are closed. What could be the problem?

Why does Firefox crash when I try to view my Twitter page?
For the past week, almost every time I try to open a new tab to go to Twitter.com (or right-click on a link in a tweet), Firefox crashes on me. Today when I tried to go to Twitter, Firefox will only load the Twitter navigation bar and not the rest of the page. I have attempted to view my Twitter page multiple times.
I can view my Twitter page in IE, Google Chrome and Opera, but not Firefox, which is my preferred browser. Have there been any changes to Firefox in the last week that could have caused this? You already posted some of the crash report links in another thread that you had created, so I'm going to lock this thread.

Why does Powerbook freeze when attaching files?
I am working an a friends Powerbook G4 1.5 GHz 15", running Leopard 10.5.8.
Whenever I attempt to attach a file, located in applications, downloads, desktop, and when composing an email (any mail application, Yahoo!, etc), the Powerbook will begin with the spinning beach ball and will hang there. The only way to proceed is to power it off. Force quit doesn't work.
I have run diagnostics with DiskWarrior (succesfully rebuilt the directory), TechTool, and even performed an Archive and Install with the Leopard install DVD.
One possible clue. There was a Kernel Panic when I tried to start from the Disk Warrior DVD. I was only able to use it through Target Disk Mode from my iBook.
I also tried re-seating the Airport Extreme card and both RAM cards. System profiler looks good. All hardware is recognized and OK.
I may try to disconnect the DVD drive next but wondered if this problem might ring a bell for someone out there.
Thanks in advance!
RandyThanks for the reply. I'm sorry, my question wasn't clear. I was actually speakiing of web based email, like Yahoo.
Even though my friend said his hard drive is new, I decided to download a trial version of Smart Utility to his machine and had an Ah-Ha! moment. The drive is failing. I shouldn't ber so fooled when disk Utility and Disk Warrior say that the disk is OK. Directories and mechanics are two different animals.
Thanks for the permissions repair suggestion. I did try that.
The help is much appreciated!
