Why does Firefox hello tells me "Something went wrong."?
Hello,
I am on firefox version 37.0.1. When I click on hello button and start a conversation, a small window appear and my camera works for a very short while. Then the small window goes black with this message on it: Something went wrong.
It does not tell just what went wrong!!
It sounds like the web site has a problem. Not you. Try going to other web sites and see if there are any problems with them.
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

I understand you're getting errors while recording video on your notebook.
It would help to know which product you are using. For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
It would also help to know which software you are using to record the video.
Have you tested the webcam with other software like Skype or CyberLink's YouCam software? It could be a conflict between the software and the webcam, or just the software, or just the webcam. We want to do our best to try and isolate the issue so we can focus our troubleshooting there.

After the last 2 updates I have had trouble with the browser. It periodically tells me that I am unable to run firefox because the process is already running. I then need to go to the task manager, stop the firefox process before I can launch the browser

Why does Firefox still tell me it's blocking Java Deployment Toolkit after I did the update?
On the "Mozilla - Check Your Plugins" webpage, I was told that the " Java Deployment Toolkit" was vulnerable. So I did the update. But afterwards I was still told the same problem. Why? And should I care?

The funny thing is... I visited two sites that use Java, one being Java.com, but I did not see the black banner message of blocking.The Java Deployment Toolkit may be the latest version, but Oracle still hasn't fixed the security faults with that plugin; so Mozilla still has it on the Blocklist and disables it so far as to require the user to use "Ask to Activate". ''A "soft-block" - usable if needed, but needs user-action per implementation''.
Specifically, do you have a program on your PC that actually needs that Deployment Toolkit?
Or is your concern merely that it is disabled after updating Java?
Very few consumer applications even use that Deployment Toolkit, which is intended for people who develop Java applications or who use applications such as various Oracle programs in the workplace.
Going back to before Oracle bought out Sun Systems Java in 2010, that Deployment Toolkit wasn't being installed with the Java Runtime Environment for users. Java developers had to install a separate Developers Toolkit to get that Plugin - the SDK program had it. -
I have no way of checking to see if anyone answers this. Why does Firefox have to make it so difficult?
What does this means: DLL C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\MOZCRT19.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
Suddenly all my tabs closed. Then Windows told me I had a gazillion infections. Then a tiny strip appeared saying it was Firefox and these little blocks started to fill up the little strip as if it were downloading something--there was no way to cancel this so I cut the power. Now when I try to use the Firefox icon, I get the message above.
Am I supposed to remove the old Firefox stuff and start from scratch? I am stuck using Internet Explorer.
I went to the Firefox website and tried to download it again, but McAffee jumped in and said there is something wrong with Firefox and I should register with them that I am downloading Firefox (I do not have McAffee). Then I got a security warning saying Firefox is not safe.

The main problem with malware is that it uses the installation to proliferate by contacting hostile servers to download more of the same rogue code.
Firefox doesn't have the option to "Run" a file. You can only "Save File" or "Cancel". If you downloaded it with IE8, then yes, you can run it, but that's not what I wanted you to do.
What you should do now is to disable System Restore. You can open System Properties by hitting the Windows logo key and Pause/Break key together. Then click the "System Restore" tab. Then checkmark the box which says "''Turn off System Restore on all drives''". Reboot to clear its contents. System Restore unfortunately makes a backup of all executables which includes viruses so that when you reboot without deleting them first, System Restore reinstates them again.
After you complete that step, run Avast and Malwarebytes again to make sure the system is clean.
Then go to the Windows Update site (link on your start menu) and install the missing patches which enabled your machine to become infected in the first place.
Once the system is clean, repeat step one to download Firefox again, but please do not run the file. If you don't see the option to "Save File", cancel the download, but it should be there. Run the file after you download it to the desktop. -
Why does firefox show up as a plugin on volume mixer?
Why does firefox show up as a plugin on volume mixer? After updating a flash plugin into firefox (when it had requested me to update it), it no longer shows up as firefox in volume mixer. It now shows up as some plugin icon. I really don't understand this, and wish it to be the firefox icon again. What is going on and what happened? It names itself "Plugin Container For Firefox" What does that mean? It has been this way ever since, and nothing I have done has fixed this. Restarting, refreshing, reinstalling, clearing cache, etc. Can anyone think of something please? :(

Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 255 to a setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

I've found Firefox to be very unstable when it comes to choosing a different home page & search engine, frequently ignoring my choices & reverting to the default settings between launches. This also applies to Google & the choice of language if it's different to that of the country the person's in, which is my main gripe with Google, it doesn't detect the language of the operating system but that of the geographical location, forcing one to alter the settings every time, which is extremely annoying! Please do something about all this if possible, thanks.

I want new tab to open to home page and why does firefox not have a simple check box in the options because I can't keep going through the long tedious procedure each time I install firefox. It is something that should be in the options tab , and I want to know why it isn't. I am totally frustrated with firefox and getting ready to switch.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Why does firefox switch back to bookmarks after I am on a web page ?

I have two antivirus programs on my computer. The default windows thing and MalwareBytes (which I perform a full scan with everyday) and I still have the problem.
Hate to be a "problem child" but could anyone post an answer to this problem that isn't something that is obvious that should be done like resetting firefox or check for a virus or mess with the tabs options which I have tried every combination of the options that could be tried.
I mean does anyone else anywhere have this same problem? What I don't understand is that I posted this question two days ago and it doesn't look like anyone else has asked for help with this same issue.
What I really don't understand is why I can't find out anything doing an internet search using "why does Firefox keep returning to the webpage i am currently on when i open a new webpage" and so far no one has suggested something I have already tried.
If Mozilla had some kind of phone number or email contact info then I could probably get this whole thing solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Why does Firefox not work here in China anymore, since January of 2015?
I have used Firefox for years, as the fastest and most reliable browser for me, esp in China... not anymore! Last month (unknown to me) a hijacker called Vosteran took over my Firefox browser. I finally realized it and got it cleaned up using Malwarebytes anti-malware, and downloaded a new Firefox... now SAME problem exists, even with Vosteran removed!
Firefox will not allow me into ANY normal sites, saying they don't have the proper security code. This includes my Yahoo front page, email account, ESPN and other common sites that are certainly NOT dangerous. So, WHY does Firefox not work anymore? OK, so here’s my question. I have been using Firefox for years; it’s a wonderful piece of software and an excellent browser. Recently I’ve been having problems with plugin-container.exe. The general advice has been to make sure that Flash Player is up to date (10.3.183.7) and that Firefox is up to date (6.0.1). I still have problems, particularly on YouTube and the new 4Od site, so much so that I used about:config to disable “dom.ipc.plugins.enabled”, I set the value to false. Plugin-container.exe was, prior to this, hogging all the CPU it could get its grubby little mits on, this no longer happens but whilst watching 4Od Firefox eats my entire CPU and the rendered video stream is filled with stutter, almost like frame dropping. It’s fun to watch Firefox struggle, but its no fun trying to watch a program. In desperation I downloaded and installed Chrome. Watching 4Od my CPU usage dropped from 98-100% down to 82%. I don’t particularly want to use Chrome but I do increasingly use my browser to watch streaming video content. Incidentally, if I use Firefox to watch the BBC Iplayer I only burn 35% CPU using Firefox. Oh, and I’m XPSP3, up to date.
How do I solve this stuttering problem?
Is this a codec issue with-in Flash Player?
Does 4Od use some sort of unsupported codec?
I can’t be the only one out on this limb and I know the problem solvers like a good challenge. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.You can use Themes or Personas to change the display of Firefox browser.

by reset option do you mean the DFU restore? worked for me, have you tried that?
if not - hold the lock and home button until the power down bar comes up. then hold the lock button for ten seconds - next continue to hold the lock button and press the home button for ten seconds - next release the lock button and hold the home button for 10 seconds. this should be done with the phone tethered. If done right and your itunes is configured as such, the phone will reload the drivers and start up itunes, and then prompt for a restore/update. -
Since iOS 7.1 my phone won't turn on and is asking me to connect to iTunes. I connect to itunes and it says it needs to be restored. Not sure why. I try to restore it and then it says something went wrong and it won't work. So I've been without my phone for a couple days now. It gives me error code (29). The phone almost reboots and then 3/4 of the way through it gives me the error message.

Why does Firefox always block any link I try to open going to a web page when I don't have pop up blocker on? First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . That would be nice , but the problem is it will not allow it from then on. It only allows it right then and then you have to refresh...after that to open again it blocks it again.....HOW STUPID?!!!!!
