Because Firefox looks like Chrome Im Sad to say after 7 years im dropping ChromeFox (a fitting name for what ff has become) i will no longer using FF or Suggesting to people i meet to Use FF.
I Will Be Using Comodo Icedragon ( http://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-toolbars/icedragon-browser.php) until i Find a Better Browser. i know i will get a reply saying its not backed by mozilla therefore its not secure. that can be remedied by a good antivirus and Firewall such as AVG whatever you prefer. until i find another Browser does anyone have any good suggestions to try out?
i absolutely refuse to use a bunch of stupid add-ons to remedy the situation (since mozilla adopts apples "theres an app for that" Motto i know its going to most likely be suggested)

Why does "It looks like you haven't started Firefox in a while...." message appear?

Have been trying to remove (for the second time) the "Antivirus Security Pro" virus from this laptop (which insidiously has invaded Firefox to the extent of display several pop-ups [incl. Recommended sites list; security rating of the active webpage tab displayed; video advertisements; scroll down and enlarge the screen shot in following post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/959400]. As part of this process was instructed to shut down & power-up the laptop in Windows safe mode. Upon completing this step I opened Firefox and the following message appears at the bottom of the browser (no matter what tab is displayed): "It looks like you haven't started Firefox in a while. Do you want to clean it up for a fresh, like-new experience? And by the way, welcome back!" There is also a button "Reset Firefox..." displayed to the right of this message and an "X" which is assumed to close out this message. Why does this message appear? Had been on Firefox (while in normal mode) just prior to encountering the re-emergence of the virus attack, so am questioning the reason for this message displaying and am suspicious of it being a part of the viral threat. Am hesitant to either reset and/or uninstall/reinstall Firefox prior to running another scan with Malwarebytes, Adaware and Spybot S&D . In fact Firefox was just upgraded to v.25 two days ago (when the laptop was believed to be free from this virus as well as from the ViewMgr.exe and the AVG/vprot.exe viruses. These initial virus removals were performed in the Windows normal mode, so while awaiting a response to this question, will do the scans and perform any additional manual file/registry search and destroy in the Windows safe mode. Will also try a test run of Firefox in it's own safe mode when the removal processes are completed. Would appreciate a rapid response on whether or not to do a Firefox reset and/or removal if this second attempt at removing this virus is unsuccessful.

The reset will not erase the virus but the reset can be done up to you.

Can I revert my contacts back a month? The cloud is suppose to merge contacts, why does it look like my verizon contacts were replaced by my gmail contacts?

It looks like my phone contacts were updated to my gmail contacts? I lost phone numbers I know I had and now I have all these stupid email addresses in my contacts. Will I be able to get my numbers back from my verizon backup? can they reload from a previous backup?

How to make Firefox not look like Chrome?

Is there anyway to make Firefox 29 go back to the old layout?
I chose to use Firefox because I loved the layout of the UI and it didn't look like Chrome. In this new update I may as well just switch because they look almost identical. This is really concerning to me, as I love Firefox and this new UI looks terrible to me.
Can't we just have updates that improve the code and QoL issues without being forced into using a browser that is a 1:1 clone of Chrome?

Thank you for your swift reply. I don't know that this has helped me, as I've reached my level of tolerance for fooling with this annoying little problem - for today anyway. It has been going on since I "up" graded to Firefox 4. My wife is running 3.6.x on her laptop with none of this foolishness. As BLASPHEMOUS as it may sound, I've gone back to IE for the time being even though I don't like it 1000th as much as I do Firefox.
Not just to rant here, I would say that I found a way to put some buttons on the right side of the toolbar that immediately gave me permission to "back, forward, and reload", but upon closing the browser and going out for dinner with the wife, I find on return that not only are those buttons NOT still on the toolbar, but I can't find them anymore. I think they were in "add-ons" found under I believe Add-On Manager.
I did also manage to achieve back/forward functionality running Firefox in SAFE mode, but this meant no No-Script, among other things, and I've grown too fond of that particular little script to give it up.
I've rebooted, restored, and reinstalled, can't get this formerly completely reliable program to work like it always has. Before looking around on here, I was beginning to think it was my PC.

I ran my own websites a few times, and never once begged for money to pay for my websites. Do you think everyone just sits back on their stack of cash, watching for any vultures that come around ? I've used firefox for 10 years, but if I'm no longer wanted, I will leave. Should I skip a few meals so I can send you 10 dollars, or cancel my doctor's visit for next week ? Maybe I could rake some yards in the neighborhood and make some extra money ? Wait, I can't walk but about 5 minutes, darn ! I had already dropped firefox for this very reason, and I thought the begging would be over, but it's still here ! Even microsoft and google recommend firefox ! It's a great browser, but I just can't afford to give money away. Maybe I could stop feeding my cat, I've heard they can survive without a human's help ? I have two antivirus programs on my computer. The default windows thing and MalwareBytes (which I perform a full scan with everyday) and I still have the problem.
Hate to be a "problem child" but could anyone post an answer to this problem that isn't something that is obvious that should be done like resetting firefox or check for a virus or mess with the tabs options which I have tried every combination of the options that could be tried.
I mean does anyone else anywhere have this same problem? What I don't understand is that I posted this question two days ago and it doesn't look like anyone else has asked for help with this same issue.

Why does Firefox keep hanging, crashing, sulking, dying when internet connection behaves? Once it renders the page it should forget about the page. Why does it behave when some link is clicked when there is no internet? It should just say internet not available or some crap. Why die, sulk, crash?? I don't get it! 3 series was much much much better!

I should add, I've re-downloaded Firefox, but that doesn't look like it has helped any. Still get seemingly inexplicable crashes.

OK, so here’s my question. I have been using Firefox for years; it’s a wonderful piece of software and an excellent browser. Recently I’ve been having problems with plugin-container.exe. The general advice has been to make sure that Flash Player is up to date (10.3.183.7) and that Firefox is up to date (6.0.1). I still have problems, particularly on YouTube and the new 4Od site, so much so that I used about:config to disable “dom.ipc.plugins.enabled”, I set the value to false. Plugin-container.exe was, prior to this, hogging all the CPU it could get its grubby little mits on, this no longer happens but whilst watching 4Od Firefox eats my entire CPU and the rendered video stream is filled with stutter, almost like frame dropping. It’s fun to watch Firefox struggle, but its no fun trying to watch a program. In desperation I downloaded and installed Chrome. Watching 4Od my CPU usage dropped from 98-100% down to 82%. I don’t particularly want to use Chrome but I do increasingly use my browser to watch streaming video content. Incidentally, if I use Firefox to watch the BBC Iplayer I only burn 35% CPU using Firefox. Oh, and I’m XPSP3, up to date.
How do I solve this stuttering problem?
Is this a codec issue with-in Flash Player?
Does 4Od use some sort of unsupported codec?
I can’t be the only one out on this limb and I know the problem solvers like a good challenge. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Why does Firefox take so long to load beta images on some sites?

I upgraded to one of the latest versions of Firefox, and it's better in some ways. It loads much faster than previous versions, but when I try to look at certain websites - the Globe and Mail is one of them - I get messages like "waiting for beta images" and Firefox just sits there and I can't look at the site. Why does firefox become less userfriendly with each update? first there no tab saver addon anymore and now there is no way to place spaces between the buttons

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
