Why does Firefox Mobile stop loading when using VPN?

When I'm connected to Private Internet Access VPN on my phone (using their app in the play store) occasionally Firefox gets into a state in which no webpages can be loaded. I can fix the problem in one of two ways: (1) use Google Chrome for Android or any other app that uses the internet or (2) disconnect from VPN and use Firefox without that protection. Sometimes when I reconnect to VPN, Firefox pages will load again but sometimes not.
The loading bar in Firefox Mobile always gets stuck in the same spot, which I am thinking could be diagnosed to determine which part of the http protocol it might be stuck at. I am hoping I can attach a screenshot.
I really believe in what you guys are doing. Keep fighting the good fight.

It could possibly be that the dns is failing, but to be sure there would need to be a log and need to be tested on lte and wireless to see if its consistent.

The USB port on the AirPort Extreme is borderline as far as its ability to supply adequate power to a hard drive. Another way of saying the same thing is that this is not a high power USB port, like you would find on a computer.
Your 2TB drive likely requires a bit more current than the USB port on the AirPort Extreme can supply. It is also possible that the drive's firmware may not support a network USB connection....only a "local" connection to a computer. Check with Seagate support on that possibility.
Try using a powered USB hub with the 2TB drive....and make sure that the drive is formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32....which the AirPort Extreme USB port can accept.

Why does my MacBook stop working when I try to plug in my iPad to do some file syncing? This is the second time I have had it happen to my MacBook. The computer just shuts down and cannot be restarted. When I plug it into the charger I get a faint Green light where it plugs into the MacBook. When I took the computer into my local Mac store last time this happened (Nov 2012) they reckoned they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Has any body else encountered a similar issue?

That would be a filter, yes. Didn't know Verizon handed out phone/DSL wall split filters. I would honestly take a look at the physical jack it is connected to for corrosion or lose connections as I doubt the filter is bad out of the box. Anyways, what was the original problem you had with the Phone and DSL that prompted Verizon to send out a filter?

This is usually a sign that your headphones are not plugged all the way in. Make sure the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug can still be seen.
If you are 100% positive that the earbuds are all the way in, double check to make sure the headphone jack is clean and clear of debris and/or damage.

Why does "Link Media" behave differently when used as a keyboard shortcut vs when right clicked???

Not sure whether anyone else is encountering this, but the "Link Media" command behaves differently when right clicked as opposed to when used as a keyboard shortcut.
When you right click to select that option for an offline file, you get only the corresponding disconnected source media. But when you execute "Link Media" via a keyboard shortcut, PP brings up a huge list of all other offline media. Why does it only do that when you use the keyboard shortcut for "Link Media" but not when you right click "Link Media".
I'd like to get the Link Media command to behave via the keyboard shortcut the same way it behaves when right clicked. I don't want to have to deal with relinking a hundred other files, but just the single offline file I'm working on.

Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

Fire Fox updates itself even after I tell it not to. The new version it updates to crashes, adobe flash player doesn't work on it and it takes forever to load when it does work. I have used fire fox for years now but if this keeps up I will find something else to use.

I also have this problem of Firefox updating by itself even when I turn off auto-update.
For whatever reason, there are situations where you do not want to update or download a large file, because you're working offline, have a slow connection, or have a very low download allowance etc. Usually the update doesn't work and cause Firefox to crash. After that it cannot be started again. This is with Firefox Portable but I think I've had this problem the normal Firefox. With the portable version I can just back up a single folder but it is still time wasting and annoying.
I've noticed that when I start Firefox with auto-update turned off, it changes the options to auto-update, it also does this periodically. So every time I start Firefox I have to turn off auto-update, and I have to do this from to time because Firefox will by itself turn back on the auto-update.

Why does Firefox 4 not load FCKEditor inline editor for Plone 3.x?

Firefox 3.x loads FCKEditor inline editor fine when we use Plone content management system. Since upgrading to FF v 4, the editor will not load.

Since your script file is version 2.6.3 from 2008, you could try updating: http://ckeditor.com/download (see "FCKeditor 2.6.6, released on 15 February 2010"). Does that make any difference?

You have your answer... there is no way to stop iTunes from stopping playing music when the lid is closed.
You can try adjusting the power settings, but if that's not working...there is no way for iTunes to override it.

I have a new computer, a Mac Book Pro with 16 GB ram, so I have plenty of ram.

You really have to keep your brush size small with the Mixer Brush tool. And that necessitates keeping your canvas failry small as well.
Back a few years ago I did a whole painting with the Mixer Brush once and some of the bristle brushes - just to see if I could - and I found I had to really limit the brush size (e.g., to 50 to 75) in order to get enough responsiveness to keep painting. In that case my canvas was 4096 x 5120. It's not impossible to get a good, professional result, but you have to be careful about sizing things right.

Hi Sebaz, first try repairing permissions. Go to Applications-->Utilities-->select Disk Utility. Select your drive then select the First Aid button then at the bottom right click Verify Disk and after it verifies your drive click on Verify Disk Permissions on the left. If there any errors click on Repair Disk Permission. Reboot your machine and test your Safari to see if the issue comes back.

To your browser, you're looking at a website (served on localhost in this case) and pointing to a specific file (in this case a VI). Just as if you point your browser to an address of the form www.website.com/file.pdf it will ask you what you want to do with the file--open or save it. In this dialog box, you should have the option to automatically do what you select for the file type from now on.
The dialog box itself has nothing to do with changing your server root, it has to do with what your browser is configured (or not configured) to do with the VI file type. As for why this didn't happen the first time and it's prompting you now, maybe the action got changed for the VI file type. This can be configured in Firefox by going to the content tab of tools->options.
