WHY does Firefox repeatedly open multiple copies of tabs that are already open??? Yesterday I cleared the history, removed the program & reinstalled. Didn't help. Some tabs are ones I had months ago but don't need now. They keep appearing. HELP, please!
The problem started several months ago, after I downloaded a new version of the program. Two updates ago, I think. The repeat tabs open multiple times during the day. Sometimes they appear hours after I've closed them--sometimes just minutes later.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

When I click a link to open it in a new tab, firefox jumps to another tab that is already opened.
I have my options set to open new windows as a new tab. But when I do, rather than staying in the tab I'm in (even though I have options set to stay there not go to the new tab immediately) Firefox sends me to ANOTHER Tab that is already opened (neither the current one nor the newly opened one).

I do web development and design. I've just set up my PC (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) and installed my choice of software.
On the .php files I set Firefox as the default software to open with but now it opens about 50 odd tabs in the space of 3 seconds. How do I fix this?

I'm trying to log in to my account. Firefox says my password is invalid. Firefox also says it has sent a reset link to my email. That reset link never arrives although I repeatedly ask to sent the link, and Firefox repeatedly indicates that link has been successfully sent.
This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Back on Dec 23 I ask if it was possible, after upgrading to version 3.6.13, could I go back to the version I had been using. A very helpful person, "Buddahfan", instructed me how to accomplish this. I have downloaded version 3.5.16, as this is what I think I had before. Anyway, my reason for not wanting 3.6.13 is it will not accept a VERY helpful add-on I have come to use daily, Roboform. Problem is the advertisement for the new version states it will work with all add-ons and it obviously does not. What benefits am I losing by sticking with 3.5.16 after I have downloaded all updates?

It makes no sense for so much memory to be used. This has been my favorite browser, but this gives me second thoughts. I see that I'm not the only one. 600+MB just to view my home page? I must close browser to regain memory, but it is sucked right back out in minutes. This is a serious problem when you consider that it will cause people to shy away from Firefox. I would rather see you succeed rather than fall to IE or Chrome.
600+ MB does sound like a lot, but that depends on what you are using as your homepage, and how much of that 600 is being used by the plugin container - Flash and other plugins. Also, using that amount might have to do with how much RAM you have installed - the more RAM installed and the more Firefox allows itself to use. This happens on mozilla.com too, so it's a tad strange. Other major sites ask me to confirm an exception. Sites like softpedia, microsoft etc.
If that happens again, and you are using a desktop PC, the little "coin" battery on the motherboard is probably on its' last legs and needs to be replaced.

I want new tab to open to home page and why does firefox not have a simple check box in the options because I can't keep going through the long tedious procedure each time I install firefox. You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Why does Firefox always block any link I try to open going to a web page when I don't have pop up blocker on? First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . Why does Firefox spring open, even after I quit, because I have cleared notifications or opened a file I downloaded. I have double checked Firefox is NOT set to open images or videos automatically, esES File Manager is my default player for almost all media. Firefox is not set to default.
Here is a step by step.
I see a picture I like so I download it. Firefox has now sent me a notification that the download is complete. After eventually closing the browser, I then clear notifications. Upon doing so, Firefox opens, regardless of whether it was running in the background or truly closed.

I paid early termination fee two months ago to Verizon and am now out of the country. Am trying to unlock the phone but the local guys say they are not able to. I see from the blog here that iPhone 5 comes unlocked. Is it true?? Do I still have to unlock. How do I go about it?

Why does my laptop give me a warning saying that firefox is using too much memory and to restart firefox to be more efficient? I just bought this laptop so I know it has the power to run what I need it to.

From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.
The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.
