Why does Firefox send me back a few pages when I attempt to type into a text box???

I am sick and tired of this insane bug. It affects me on a daily basis. 20% of the time I attempt to type anything into any text box, for every keypress, Firefox will treat them as requests to 'go back' and it launches me several pages backwards through my browsing history in the tab. I then I have to skip forward and attempt filling it in again. It usually works after 1-2 attempts but like i said this is happening 20% of the time on text input forms, especially FARK.com.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• Ipad1goes back to home page when I try to log into a game

IPad 1 switches back to home page when I try to load a game

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

• Why does my Windows side of Bootcamp go black when I try to go into it?

My Windows side of Bootcamp just goes black when I try to go into it. When I close my laptop and open it again for two seconds it shows the password screen but that's all the visual I can get out of it in normal mode. In safe mode I can actually get into the Windows side but I really want to fix the problem. I've had this MacBookPro for 2 years and the bootcamp worked fine after I set it up that whole time. But after I got it back from Apple for repairs to the video card this problem started. I already spoke to Apple on the phone and the guy said it's likely something relative to the Windows software but it seems to be fine in safe mode so I'm not so sure. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning!
Thanks for your reply.  I took care of this after a lot of trying on Friday.
FYI, Windows 8.1 on a Dell Laptop which was new in October. I assume that the Acrobat version was recent.
It appeared that the Acrobat program disappeared or was deleted.
I downloaded a new copy of the program and I was able to access my pdf files.
A real problem for me was trying to find a clean copy of the program from a true Adobe site. It seems that there are a lot of false sites that look like Adobe.
Thanks again!

• Why does firefox send these two messages several times a day?

Hello @susan649,
Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are concerned about the amount of updates being sent to your Photosmart 6520.
I would like to help.
That is actually a lot more then normal. One every few weeks sure. four or more a day? Nope, not normal.
Perhaps the same update is not updating properly so it tries again later.
I would try setting a manual DNS.
The following post by happytohelp01 has steps and screen shots to perform this.
Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times
The screen shots are for an Photosmart 7510, but the steps are the same.
For the Manual Preferred DNS Server please use 8.8.8.8 and for the Alternate Preferred DNS server please use 8.8.4.4. These are Google’s public DNS servers. If you find that those DNS settings don’t work, some customers have had success using the Level3 DNS servers. I have included About.com’s Free & Public DNS Servers.
If your printer is still doing an abnormal amount of updates, please call our Cloud Services at 855-785-2777.

• Why does firefox keep going back my a previous page after i want to go elsewhere?

when I am in google looking for images and i go to change my search criteria, firefox goes back to the previous page i was on right after i hit my arrow to go. then i have to do this time and time again. and it's getting frustrating!

Hello Mandy.
I can't think of a scenario where Firefox would make itself the default browser against the user's consent. Still, go into Tools > Options > Advanced > General > System defaults and untick that small box at the bottom of the window that talks about Firefox asking you each time it starts.
Hopefully that will fix the issue.

• Why does Firefox send scary warning "This Connection is Untrusted" for URLs that I know are OK?

Example: I try to log on to renew automobile registration at www.DMV.state.pa.us or other innocuous locations and I receive that scary warning. So I log in on Explorer on my PC and the website works OK. Am I doing something wrong?

as far as I know, you are not doing anything wrong. I get the same message for some government managed pages. I believe it has to do with who furnishes their certificates.
Firefox has a article that explains security certificates here:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/This%20connection%20is%20untrusted

• Why does Firefox freeze up after a few moments?

For about a week the internet freezes up and I get no response on any buttons or attempts to even close a web page. In frustration I reboot the computer and open with Internet Explorer and have no trouble.
This is a constant problem and I want to use Firefox because I have a dislike of Microsoft methods of forcing us to use their products.

Try to determine exactly what the content is that is causing problems, is it for instance opening .pdf type files or specific types of images ?
* Tools -> Page Info -> Media may give you some clues as to what is common to pages that give problems.
It could also be a problem with your Javascript settings to block or enable
* Tools -> Options -> Content
Or one or more of your extensions could be causing problems see
* Basic troubleshooting
*Note if you use Safe Mode do not initially make any changes on the first screen you see just use the continue button.

• Why does Firefox list of plugins show "Shockwave Flash" when what is installed is really Adobe Flash Player; they are different .

Adobe; various websites; and now seemingly Firefox seem to continually confuse and obscure things regarding the two different Adobe Players (Adobe Flash Player AFP and Adobe Shockwave Player ASP). According to this security alert web article ASP is far less secure than AFP which itself isn't great. The article http://krebsonsecurity.com/2014/05/why-you-should-ditch-adobe-shockwave/ indicates:
Mozilla Firefox users should note that the presence of the “Shockwave Flash” plugin listed in the Firefox Add-ons section denotes an installation of Adobe Flash Player plugin — not Adobe Shockwave Player.
==========
My Firefox is working, but this confusion of calling things by their proper (or at least a unique name) seems crazy to me. If this is accurate can someone get Firefox to name things correctly, AND if article is accurate let this be a warning to others that they NOT use ASP, but as needed rely on AFP. There are Adobe test pages for each so you want to make sure that AFP succeeds and the other ASP fails to play.

hello, "Adobe Flash Player" and "Shockwave Flash" are the same thing - the latter is the technical term of the plugin that adobe kept for compatibility reasons after it acquired the technology from another company (macromedia)...

• Why does Mozilla repeatedly freeeze for a few seconds when I click on anything?

Hello jlbjazz, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:<br>
<br><br>
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

• Why does Firefox open with an AVG search page.

Pretty much says it. I open Firefox and a AVG page comes up with a search block. Is this a current feature of Firefox?

Hello,

#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
