Why does Firefox sometimes still tell me that I have cache to clear in the Advanced tab of the Options menu after I completely clear it using Clear Recent History?
I always have the time range in the Clear Recent History window set to "Everything", too.
While I didn't know about the about:cache page, it doesn't help me understand why Firefox is doing this, and how to fix it. Also, as I said in my question, I already knew about the cache information in the Advanced tab of the Options menu. I was trying to imply that I sometimes have to clear it using both the Clear Recent History feature and in the Advanced tab of the Options menu, because using Clear Recent History doesn't delete it all.

Recently, using FF 3.6.8 and 3.6.9, after I've used Ashampoo Magic Optimizer, certain news websites only show up in a bullet-pointed low-resolution text without any graphics. Other websites appear in their normal way. Accessing these lo-res websites via IE browser, they all appear in their full-resolution normal way. Then, some days later, it all comes right again on Firefox.
This may be related to session restore.

Why does Firefox sometimes ask me if I want to save my tabs when I close, and sometimes it does not? I usually want to save them, so this is a pain. I'm on a Mac, OS 10.5.8

In some windows, seems more likely after a crash recovery (but not sure there's a connection), Firefox puts the New Tab "+" button to the left of my tabs instead of the right. This is annoying, because once you're used to clicking it to the right of your open tabs, it's confusing to sometimes find it to the left.
If I go into Customize mode, it still shows the "+" tab on the right, but as soon as I close Customize, it's really still there on the left edge of the screen.
Why does this happen and can I stop it? I have seen no reports of this problem posted by others, but it's been happening for me since at least Version 12 and not fixed by version 13.0.1.This may be related to session restore.

Why does my I-Phone 4 tell me that it can't back up onto i-Cloud as it has run out of storage space, but when I look at i-Cloud storage it tells me I have 4.7GB out of 5GB available?

It doesn't matter what web-page I'm on, the top 40mm or so of the screen is a dead area for clicking on buttons or links. e.g. in Google I can click on a link lower down the page and get transferred to the new article - but if I were to move the item up nearer the top of the page the link would no longer operate.
I can move to a link by repeated operation of the "Tab" key until the link or button is indicated, and then press "Enter" to use the link, but this is potentially very time-consuming if there are a lot of links on the page.
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L750 loaded with Windows 7, and Firefox 16.0.Problems with buttons and links at the top of the page not working can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or a Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

I have always liked Firefox the best of all browsers, but will not be installing it on any mobile devices if it really can do whatever it wants to do like it seems from the permissions screen.

Why does my iPad storage tell me its full with 20gb of photos when the photos folder is empty?
The storage on my iPad is nearly full-its states that i have 21gb of photos on it but the photos folders are empty. i cannot back up or sync as there is not enough space...how do i delete something that is not there?
Try this...
Open Photos App
select "Albums"
Look for "My Photo Stream" and see if that's empty or not.
The photo stream is basically a shared album that will include all photos associated with your apple ID and can grow very quickly - and quietly.

Why does Firefox sometimes open a new window when I navigate to an existing tab?
I often have 7 or 8 tabs open in Firefox. Sometimes when I click on a tab, Firefox opens it in a new window instead of just going to that tab. I haven't figured out a pattern when it does this.
A very slight movement (usually downward) will cause the tab to "tear off"/"tear away" into a new window. You can drag the tab back to the original window from the new window.
You can install this Add-on to stop the "tear off"/"tear away" behavior:

Why does Firefox SOMETIMES not show the AVG toolbar
I have Firefox 14.0.1 and when I open it SOMETIMES the AVG toolbar is not there but sometimes it is. When it is not there the space for it to be in is there but nothing is in it. This happens often and I have to open another Firefox screen and go on doing so until one with the AVG toolbar appears
Do you need the AVG toolbar? Some people have reported that it causes problems with Firefox.

HT1331 Why does this article still not indicate that Airport Disk Utility no longer exists?
ADU stopped existing after 10.6. I see this article was updated in May; that means two revisions of OSX which don't contain this utility have been announced or released at that time yet it's still wrong. It's near the top of google rankings, making this a crappy thing to do to your users who are looking for information, Apple.
Yes, you are correct - there is no longer a Airport Disk Utility. It was discontinued. That article was accurate up until 10.7 was introduced.
You cannot call "from the main window of AirPort Disk Utility enable "Show AirPort Disks in the menu bar"" a 'typo' - it is flat-out wrong, as that menu option no longer exists at all. So the instructions can not be applicable.
This could be corrected simply by adding "10.6 and earlier OSX versions" or the like to the products affected list. But leaving this entirely unusable set of unstructions up as it stands is misleading and counter-productive. -
Why does my new phone tell me that I am running out or storage space?
I have a new Samsung Galaxy S5. It is telling me that I am running out of storage space on the device. I have only just received this phone and can't access my email account. What is the problem here?

Difficult to answer without looking at the phone. If you go into settings and look for storage it will tell you how much is used for certain processes/documents.
Are you using a memory card and if so are you storing photos/videos on it as these take up loads of space and are best saved to Sd cards. Also are you installing large games?

Why does my Macbook Pro tell me that I only have 1GB of memory, when I have 2GB?
Hello all, I'm a new user so forgive me if I'm asking something already asked.
I'm looking to download OSX Lion on a 2010 Macbook Pro, 13 inch. When I tried to download it, an error message came up saying that Lion needs 2GB of memory. I checked "About this Mac" and it told me I only have 1GB of memory. I opened up my Macbook, and there are two seperate 1GB sticks inside...call me crazy, but doesn't that mean I have 2GB? I ordered two more 2GB sticks to upgrade myself to 4GB just for the sake of having more memory, but I'm confused and concerned.Try re-seating the sticks.
