Why does icloud account name differ from Apple ID?
Hi all. My first Apple product was an iPad (original). At the time I had to set up an account. I used an email address that is no longer active. I've got a new Apple ID - which references my current active email address.
I also have an iPhone. The Apple ID is current, and I'm able to use it to purchase APPS, and login to view my profile, etc.
But, in Settings on the iPhone, when I click on iCloud, and the Account, it lists the original account name (which is the no-long active email address) and a blocked-out password which I don't remember. I'm unable to view Payment Information because it requires a password. I can no longer get wireless on my iPad because the Payment Information credit card has expired.
So - in sum - my ICloud info is wrong and inaccessible, but my Apple ID is accessible. What should I do????

Why does LoaderInfo.bytes.bytesAvailable differ from bytesTotal ?
Before I give a code snippet, let me explain what I'm trying to do.
I'm trying to load an image from an arbitrary URL (user given), that can be any of jpeg, gif, png.
What I want is the compressed version of the image, not the bitmap. My goal is transmit it to my database in compressed form.
So with that in mind:
1. I first tried to use URLLoader
=> It returns the correct byteArray of the image but not the contentType (e.g. image/jpeg etc...)
2. Then I tried to use Loader
=> This returns both the contentType and the byteArray of the data, however the byteArray is not the same size as the image, there are some extra bytes. That's where loaderInfo.bytes.bytesAvailable differs from lodareInfo.bytesTotal.

How to get the raw data without the extra bits/encoding. Does it have to do with serialization ? I've been trying to figure it out but so far without success. So basically what I want is the byteArray returned from URLLoader and the contentType returned by Loader.
Note: I'm not interested in recompressing the image from a bitmap, since this would either degrade its quality or result in an overly big image which would consume too much bandwidth.Loader will try to parse the image data. I would think URLLoader is the
answer, but I'm not sure how to control contentType. -

It doesn't change on your device automatically. To change the iCloud ID on an iOS device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. -
I want to photo stream pix from my iMac to apple tv. When I try to enter the iCloud account name and password, the systems tells me that terms of service have changed and won't let me proceed. What's that about?
You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.

Long story short, I got married the month before I got my iPad, being a newlywed I wasn't thinking I would find my husband impregnating another woman and moving in with her behind my back so I figured creating an iCloud name with his last name would be good to go. Obviously not. Anyway- all my photos are screenshots needed for my anullment process and I can't lose them. The games are whatever, I plan on starting those over because I'm sure that I can't keep my progress. Do I have to re-download them?

Transfer them to your computer to keep them safe. If you lose or break your iPad you'll lose them without a backup.

The Apple ID that appears in my iCloud account is different from the one I use every time I' m requested by Apple. I forgot the password for the iCloud id. I need to know how to change the iCloud id and make them both the same.

How do I delete my existing iCloud account (across ALL my apple devices), and start over from scratch??
(cant seem to get calendars to ever sync right, on my devices, and across to my wifes'....so want to start with a "clean installation")Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account (this disconnects the device from icloud but doesn't delete any data on icloud or on other devices).
If you then want to sign back in using a different ID, do so on the same screen.
I also strongly suggest that you and your wife use different icloud accounts, otherwise all your devices will have the same data on them, same emails, reminders, etc. Most likely not what you want. -

I had an Apple ID which I used for iCloud. I upgraded the iCloud account and changed the apple ID to a @me address. Now I can't view what was in my original apple ID account. How can I get what was stored on the original account?

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?
