why does ipad keep asking for icloud every second?

    Hey there mcsafranek,
It sounds like you are getting prompted for your iCloud password very frequently. I would sign out of your iCloud account in Settings first:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
From: iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
              http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
Then close all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
When you have done that and restart the phone, sign back into iCloud, and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists could you relay what exactly the message says when it pops up?
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • My iPhone keeps asking me to enter my iCloud password, Why?

Almost every time I enter the mail app, and randomly throughout the day, my iPhone keeps popping this box up asking for me to enter my iCloud password. I enter it and it goes away. I know the password I'm entering is correct, but, my question is - why is this happening? I've had every iPhone ever made and just recently bought the 6 Plus and this is the first time ever I've encountered the issue. Any help on getting this annoying popup to stop is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try signing out of the acount comletely and then signing back in again. If it doesn't help and you have more devices, sign out everywhere and try again.

  • Why does my iPhone (4S) and iPad (The New iPad) keep asking me for my Apple ID password after I created an iCloud account and merged my old Apple ID with a new one?

I got an iPad2 for Christmas and went to the Apple Store to have them transfer over my contacts from my iPhone4S to the iPad2. They said they had to do it over iCloud and help me set up an iCloud account. But I had an old Apple ID (one without an "@icloud.com" name or other email address attached to it). When they did that it basically screwed up my whole Apple ID account. Now, both my iPhone4S and iPad2 randomly prompt me to enter my Apple ID password for my old Apple ID!, which they said does not exist anymore. So confused...please advise.

The email you should NOT have published, is your iCloud, not Apple ID
You Apple ID is a valid email address
This is a user forum, not Apple customer service.
I gather the security question did not work.
If you have an email address, why not use that?
If this fails you have to contact support and schedule help.

  • Why does my iPhone 6 keep asking me to enter my phone number to text? It's already in there but keeps popping up everytime I open messages

I have a iPhone 6 and every time I click on messages a pop-up will appear saying I need to enter a phone number to be able to message.  It has two options "cancel" or "settings" so I select "settings" and it takes me to my message settings and my phone number is entered there so I will re enter it and click "save" and when I go back to messages it will pop up again. Any idea how to fix It?  I've done all the updates and I have restarted my phone twice.

I think I figured it out. Did everyone, by any chance, have their device previously jailbroken? Then when they backed up their apps with iCloud, iCloud saved them? Then when trying to restore to a previous backup after upgrading to IOS6 all the apps showed up but just say waiting underneath? Well the reason it keeps asking for the apple id and password is because of those apps. As I noticed, the apps that are like that, when I tap on them the same window shows up asking for my info. All I did was erase the apps that were 'waiting' that were previously downloaded from when my iPad was jailbroken and I haven't gotten the little pop up since, its associated with the apps, I noticed that, but not exactly what its reasoning behind it is, probably because it is asking for your ID in order to download it, but when it can't connect, because of it being a pirated app, the device gets confused and when isn't able to download the first time, it will try again and continuously ask for your ID in order to confirm its download.
    Hope this helps.
    - After this upgrade I'm going to be avoiding jailbreaking and just deal with what I have to app wise.

  • Why does my phone keep asking me to "enter password"?

    Hi
I went to set up my email on my iphone 5, like I already know how to do. I put in my username and password. Went ot the inbox and it was all blank. I went back to settings and since then the following message keeps popping up, literally every few second, "Password Required: Enter the passrod for the account 'Yahoo!'".
What the heck is the deal? I know my password and I am 100% positive I input it correctly.
At one point I even got a "server unavailible" message.
    What should I do?
    Thanks,
    CorpRadar

You might want to try deleting the account, then signing back in.  To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone and provide the password when prompted.  Then sign back in.  (This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your phone, not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your phone when you sign back in.)

  • After the latest iTunes update, why does it keep asking me to enter my password to check for downloads?

After the latest iTunes upgrade, every time you open up iTunes, a window pops up asking you to sign in with your Apple ID to check for available downloads?  Why is it asking this if your account is already stored on the computer?  How do you stop this from asking each time?  Thanks.

    Hi Skip_Collins,
If iTunes is repeatedly prompting you for your password, you may find the following article about a similar issue helpful:

  • Why does iPhone keep asking me to sign in to iCloud?

Title says it all guys. It's getting annoying that every time when I unlock my phone or open an app, it will ask me again and again.
Any idea on how to get this fixed?
    iPhone 4 - 7.1.2
    Thanks guys, appreciate it.

    Found this in another thread.
This answer is the correct solution.
First, go to iTunes preferences (Command + ,).
Under the "Store" tab be certain that "Automatically check for available downloads" is deselected.
    Close and relaunch iTunes.
From the prompt to log in enter your iTunes password.
Once logged in you will see your iTunes account name displayed in the upper right hand corner.
At the far right click the drop down triangle and click log out.
    Close and relaunch iTunes.
Your mysterious login prompt should now be history!

  • HT4864 problems with iCloud mail server on the mail, but it does not fix it when I put the password in, keeps asking me for password. When I go into iCloud to access it from safari, it accesses the icloud fine with my password. I have reset all the settin

I am running os x 10.7.5, on a macbk, I have been using all the apps fine and not changed anything or run any software updates, suddenly my mail dows not think it can connect with the outgoing server for icloud and requests my password, which I give, but it repeatedly asks again and again. I have tried re-setting all the mail for icloud up again, and it thinks its ok, except the box keeps flagging up can't access outgoing server. I have checked it all a number of times, and I can access the icloud stuff including mail from http when I log in there. Anyone know why my mac will not accept my icloud password? suddenly I cannot get any icloud mail in or out, but I changed nothing. Why does it do this and why can't i fix it?

No carrier "automatically" unlocks at end of contract - many won't do it at all, even if requested.  I don't know what your carrier's policy is since you didn't say what country you're in.
However, if I understand you correctly, you didn't change carriers so it doesn't matter if it was unlocked or not. Try the following steps, as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons for at least 19 seconds until the Apple logo appears
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    4. Replace SIM card (don't care what Telstra says)
    5. Restore phone in iTunes as new, without using a backup
    6. Take phone to Apple.
