Why does Internet Sharing Turn off when shut down/restart ?
I've have had my Mac for a few months now and it has gone beyond my expentation it was defenatly a good buy . I was wondering if there is a way to keep Internet sharing on when I shutdown or restart my Macit would stop working. Ive went to bestbuy and tried this out in other macs and the same thing happened when I restart or shut it. Internet sharing would say it is enabled in preferences, but it no longer has the arrow point up. Apple could you please fix this on your next update I use this as a wireless router and it performes well except when I have to uncheck the box enable it again . Thank you

Your computer has to be ON to be able to use the Internet Sharing settings....

Why does my ipod turn off when I dim the backlight?
why does my ipod turn off when I dim the backlight?
Probably because you do not have the headphones plugged all the way in. Make sure the plastic on the headphone jack is flush with the body of the Nano.
Incidentally, you are not running iOS 1.x -
Why does my music turn off when I open Safari on my iPhone 5c?
I noticed that my music turns off when I open safari on my iPhone 5c. What's the deal?
I figured out this will happen if any of the pages that are open in safari on your phone are open to a page that contains media. Note this means any page regardless of whether it's the one you are viewing. So if you go to a site that has media, then open a new browser window and go to a page that doesn't have media and then open iTunes and play a song...when you switch back to safari, the music will stop. If you close the first browser window and try it again...the music will continue to play.

Why does an ipad turn off when tilts?
One of the iPads will turn off and ask for the passcode after tilting. The ipad has been updated to IOS6. Could this have caused the problem?
Are these images huge (15+ Mpixels)? Does the same happen if you try to edit low(er)-res images? If the former is the case (crashes at huge images but no problems with lower-res ones), you could kill all previously-used apps (or just restart the device) before starting editing to free up memory - it's the memory that rusn out and results in a crash.

Airport and internet sharing turns off by itself
Hi everyone, I have an imac that I purchased earlier this year, and I use internet sharing to get internet for my ipod touch. Until a few months ago, this worked fine but now airport and internet sharing turn off every time I restart the computer and I have to turn both back on every time. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know hot to fix it?
Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Download and install the v10.5.8 combo update available here.
http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
One of the "fixes" includes: - compatibility and reliability issues when joining AirPort networks.
After the installation, repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Why does my Internet sharing turn off daily?
Why does internet sharing keep turning off?
Are the Airport bars still black & showing good signal when it gets lost?
Could there be another Network nearby on the same channel?
Any Microwave sources like TVs, Cell Phones, Ovens around?
Does the one providing Internet remain connect to the Internet when this happens?
Is the Ethernet Interface on the Mac that connects to the Internet dragged to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations, with Airport below it? -
Why does my screen turn black when I play iTunes while working on iPhoto?
Why does my screen turn black when I play ITunes while working on iPhoto? I can't click off of the screen but get a message that reads Shut down computer by pressing button in back then turn computer back on by pushing button in back. That's followed by Chinese letters (which I cannot read). I have had other problems when playing iTunes (actually, a radio station on the Internet) while working on iPhoto. Before, I got a window that would pop up and tell me I had no disk space available, that I would have to quit applications that were open. Not many were open.
It would be nice if I could solve this problem once and for all.
Thanks in advance for all the suggestions. I truly appreciate your help.
JanThat was easy. Thanks. Jan

Why does my G5 turn off and on by itself?
Why does my G5 turn off and on by itself?
It also has a tendency to quit imovie alot I don't know if it is realtedHello! It's possible that a heat related event is shutting it down and if set to restart after a power failure could be the reason it restarts. There could also be other reasons. Tom

Pre Turns Off or Shuts Down when I close the keyboard
Is my pre screwed or is it OS?
It shuts off, not the version that other people have had where you have to pop the battery (the power button still works to turn it back on) out to get it to restart. Anyway, it shuts off when I slide it closed. I thought maybe something loose so I did it very slowly, not allowing it to even go all the way, the minute that the sensor tripped it back into "no keyboard" mode it turns off.
It's especially bad when on bluetooth...happens every single time.
Is there a solution for this. Please palm, a lot of people are having this problem and there is no answer yet?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)Palm is on deathwatch. The Pre could have really kept them afloat, but there are too many problems with it. When I first got my Pre in June, it was awesome! Everything worked great. But now, I am always having problems with it. Here is the list:
1. Pre turns off or shuts down when I close the keyboard. (I had to make this one the first on the list since it is the topic.)
2. Pre turn off or shuts down for no apparent reason and the only solution is to remove the battery, wait a second, put the battery back in, then turn it back on. This takes forever. Plus, because I have removed the back so often, my Pre squeaks when I am typing (from the plastic). It is very annoying.
3. The navigation system has a glitch where most of the time, it cannot find my current location. The message says to make sure I am in clear view of the sky, but i always am. There are many posts about this problem in other sections. There are some solutions, and the often work, but it takes 5 minutes to reset the system. It is a beating.
4. The navigation system voice is usually very clear, but sometimes, the voice will skip over the names of streets as she is calling out the directions. Ex. "Turn right on ________ Drive."
5. Sometimes the keyboard will stop working. I have to remove/replace the battery. Again, this is time-consuming and further contributes to the squeaking problem when typing because you have removed the back so many times.
I like Sprint because I can get unlimited data, txt, and mobile-to-mobile calling for $70/mo. So, I hope that someone comes out with a great touch-screen phone (not the BB Storm), because I want to stick with Sprint. If you go with an iphone, you have to get AT&T, which will cost you at least $100 for the same. That is a $360/yr difference! I am sticking with Sprint. -
Why does the music go off when the screen light is off?
Why does the music go off when the sceen light goes off
This is usually an indication that your headphones/earbuds are not plugged all the way in. Double check the connection and make sure that no metal from the jack is showing.

Why does my ipod turn off by itself and then turn back on after up grading to ios 7
why does my ipod turn off by itself and then back on after upgrading to ios 7
Try the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
