Why does iOS "connect" to a network even if it doesn't know the password?
The network's clearly protected, but it just "connects" and sits there. It puts a checkmark next to the network, but it's truly not connected.
Happens across devices on my iPhone as well.
Its not connected however if you have wifi activated and join automatcally selected, the WIfi radio in your phone will be scanning for availalble WIfi services and will lock on to the strongest or any open network ready to make the handahake.
The Router and your device are primed to exchange authorisation credentials on entry of a sutable passcode.
At this point your phone radio is broadcasting its existance *(and using power ) however the handshake has NOT taken place - You have simply pinged the server

No, i don't. if i did i would have tried it. do you have to sign up an appled ID for iCloud? If the answer is yes then they should mention that in the set-up instructions.

Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

There may be a conflict between the network settings and your devices. I would recommend taking a look at the article below and comparing that to your routers current settings.

Why does IOS 7 enlarge pictures for the wallpaper and then disallow you to make them smaller to fit the screen?
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I am sure I have read that the parallax effect in iOS 7 is the main reason behind wallpapers not being able to be shrunk. However, even disabling the effect will not allow you to resize the pictures like you could in previous versions of iOS, so as Skydiver119 said, it kind of is a glitch. If you are like me, and don't regularly change your wallpaper, then it may be worth creating a photoshop document which is slightly larger than your screen resolution(400px in each direction or so) and then placing your picture to suit, before copying it your device. Obviously, this would not be ideal if you were changing your wallpaper daily or very regularly as it would be a bit of a hassle having to do this every time you wanted to change your wallpaper.

Wifi keeps scanning and dropping even after connected to home network. Never had this issue until the update, and now my phone runs slow and terrible. Horrible update!! Any ideas on a fix?
It's important that you have a steady WiFi connection, ZealousEdge. What phone do you have? Is your phone unable to connect to any WiFi network? If you can, please try deleting the saved WiFi network and re-adding it.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I have two wireless networks, an Apple network and one provided by my broadband supplier Virgin. The base stations are located in different parts of the house. My Macbook Pro will persist in connecting to the Apple network even when it is located in the same room as the Virgin wireless hub max signal strength and the Apple signal strength is minimal. Even if I then select the Virgin network the Mac decides that it still wants to connect to the Apple network and will switch back again at some point. I have put the Apple network to the bottom of the list of network connections and Virgin at the top to no effect. I have tried deleting it in the Advanced Preferences again with no success.

In addition to my home page, every time I start Firefox a tab opens with notification of an updated addon. Why does this tab continue to appear even though there is no updated version of the addon?

You need to sign in when using Photoshop Elements 12 as it is the method of activation. If you sign out it deactivates that installation.

I have stored procedure which inserts around 5million record(insert select not applicable); and it always fails because of "ORA-30036: unable to extend segment by 8 in undo tablespace" although the procedure commits after every 10,000 records and the undo table space is 2GB. so my question is why does undo table space got full even if i commit?? & do i have other solution than making the undo auto extend??

Swaid A. McKeyActually, i had the same problem that my UNDO tablespace starting eating too much space, my undo_retention is set as 3hours, but how can estimate it using the view.

Can anyone assist with it ? But i still have the strange feeling why would UNDO get full once commit is being used. Even i did try with AUTOEXTEND and it throw me the errors that can't extend UNDO tablespace.
