Why does iOS7 and Mavericks have different icons for apps?

I love apple simple desige and intuitive approach.
BUT why does not Contacts, Calender etc have the same icons anymore between your operating systems?
This is not simple and it is not intuiative.....

The removal of all the skeuomorphic elements from iOS and OS X is only partially complete. Doubtless we'll see this change as updates come out, though whether Apple will go with the exact same icons in both iOS and OS X for any given app remains to be seen. Do you mean Toolkit or TypeKit, which is part of CC? See Remove minor corruption by exporting. If that doesn't work, try exporting the text to ID Tagged Text and place in a new file, and if that also fails, try removing the fonts.

HT5858 I just updated to IOS 7 on my iPhone 4s and now all the Icons for Apps I had downloaded no longer appear on my home screen all the other Icons are there just the Apps I downloaded since I got the phone are missing.

Apps are in iTunes, are not part of the backup and when you updated the phone, you need to sync that content back.

That's not a shortcut you are creating with "save as", you are saving a copy of the webpage to your desktop - hence the folder with files for that webpage.

Why does 44k and 88k look different?

hi,
ive been using some 88k files for high qual recording, now i want all my files at 44k, so i convert them all, but looking the wave overview the 'level' appears to have dropped to nearly 50% of what it was for each file.
is this just a visual artefact of the way logic shows sample rates, it doesnt sound any quieter.

although the sounds are identical in level shown in any level meter i have.....they 'look' different on screen.
the 88k>44k convert is at the top compared to the original 88k file below it.....this seems to be a naormal artefact as this often happens when i use pitch time machine to change some samples' speeds......

Why does Apple support not have the manual for iPad and iOS5 available? The manual on the site has none of the new features.

I was wondering, why has Apple not made an Apple Store app for the iPad yet? It's been a while now that the iPad has been out and the iPhone has had it but why not make one for iPad too? It could be designed correctly to be a lot more user friendly on an iPad then the website in my opinion...

There are two Applications folders: /Applications (in the root level of the hard drive) and ~/Applications (in your user folder).
If you have a look at the bottom part of the screenshot, you can see where Chess is stored, and it indicates that it's stored in /Applications, so you are looking for applications in the wrong folder.
Open a Finder window, go to Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Sidebar, and mark Applications. Then, close the Preferences window and you will be able to access to the Applications folder in the Finder sidebar. Another option would be to go to View menu (on the menu bar) and type:
/Applications

Defining different icons for TreeNode by extending DefaultTreeCellRenderer

I'm using a JTree to display project, folder and files. I'd like to have different icons for open project, close project, open folder, close folders, and files
but i got for the root which is a project object a folder icon and for folder when it is not expanded i got project icon and the when i expand it i got a folder icon, can someone help me please

I changed my code a bit knowing that the renderer is global to the tree so my (openIcon == null) is called only once for the first node.

Why does music differ in quality between devices,do ipod classic/iphone/macbook and nano have different power output ratings

Why does my music sound so differant on seperate devices ?.
same song differs in quality between ipod classic , nano , macbook and ipad.
do the devices have power output ratings if so is one more powerful than the other ?.
same song , same headphones all downloaded from the same source

Doesn't anybody have any ideas why diagnostics say "no universal serial bus controller found" and yet founds connected device information just fine?
IPod and iPhone appears in itunes and device manager with no problem, but syncing stops with error everytime.
Do you think that this would be an issue with: ITunes, Windows 8 or Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard?
Am I right, that diagnostics should find universal serial bus controller even though there was nothing attach to it?
Am I alone with this problem?
I have also iPod 4gb and iPod 8gb, which shows in itunes, but I'm affraid to sync them if those stops same way.

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.

It would be just as easy to release both a dubbed version and then a subtitled version.
I am a native english speaker but live in France. My father has just moved over to live with me in France and speaks very little French.
The price for a television series is very often more than a dvd box set but does not offer language options.
My French is passable but I would still prefer to hear the programme in English.
Using itunes uk is not an option as my cards are french or english with a french postal address.
The content has been adapted for the french site all i want is to access the original.
The series i have been trying to buy is HBOs 'boardwalk empire'.
The stupid thing is to please my father i would buy up most the HBO, BBC and Channel 4 content a cost of a couple of thousand euros.

France has come a very long way with regard to other languages. When I lived in France, mid-880s, there was an entire Ministry devoted to the purity of the French language...that was the time the PC came out. A TV news person was cashiered for using the term 'computer' on-air instead of the French created word 'ordinateur'. They took the language extremely seriously at that time. At least today there is recognition and even use of English by the masses

Found a solution form an other post.
I hade to stop the sync to my iPad to delete the calendars on it.
Then I synced again and only had the new calendars that I had in my ICal.
