Exporting a single Event retains the Event name which is what I'd expect. But highlighting more than one event and exporting it renames the images to Events 001.JPG, Event 002.JPG etc.

When I open an event, including flagged items, the photos appear one by one, not as thumbnails, so I can't export more than one phot at a time. How do I get iPhoto to show the thumbnails?
I've tried rebuilding the thumbnail database, but that hasn't helped.What version of iPhoto and system are you running?
Try moving the Zoom slider at the bottom of the iPhoto window all the way to the left. Does that let more than one photo display in the window?

hey, I'm not sure if I've set it up for hard drive video. When I
try to import it says it's the wrong codec. I had a similar problem with windows moviemaker.
except the error message there (moviemaker) said 'too many methods firing from events'

When using rabbitmq-jms for vFabric RabbitMQ javax.jms.Message.getJMSDestination does not return the actual destination when it is received from a consumer listening on a Topic with a wild card. I have tested with both 1.0.3 and 1.0.5 clients with RabbitMQ 3.1.5.

Why does iPhoto 9.5.1 not export slideshows?
Why does iPhoto 9.5.1 stall when I try to export a slideshow, using OS 10.9.3? All steps have been completed, and the preview works fine, but the system hangs up at the "Exporting Slideshow" progress window. The bar never fills. Nada!
Does this only happen for one particular slideshow? Test by creating another, short slideshow using different photos. Can you export this test slideshow? If yes, then probably one of your photos cannot be processed. Duplicate your slideshow and try to find the problematic photo by removing photos from the slideshow and trying again.
If you cannot export any slide at all, create a new iPhoto library for testing. Use iPhoto's "File" menu to create a new library: File > Switch to library > Other/New. Import a few photos and try to export a Slideshow. If exporting from a new library works, try to repair or rebuild your regular iPhoto library.
You rebuild the library by launching either iPhoto while holding down the key combination⌥⌘ (option-command) and double-clicking the iPhoto icon. Keep holding down the keys, until you are seeing the Library First Aid panel. Select to "Repair" the database.
If that does not suffice, try "Rebuild".
Back up your library before rebuilding. -

home sharing is not set on the appletv but on the itunes program on the computer which lib one wish to share
the home share password need not be the appleID password as homeshare is also meant to share your media with others on your LAN network whom you may not wish to know your appleID password

I am trying to import an excel file ... see below. It appears if you select both Tasks and Assignments tables it will not allow you to do this, says file is not in a project recognized format. So I import Tasks tab first then run the
wizard again and import the assignments tab while selecting merge with project option. This works with one exception:
If there are more than one assignment per task. It does not merge in the 2nd assignment, only the first.
Is there a way to import a task with 2 or more assignments?
Background
To figure out what the format for the file needed to be, I started with a MPP file and from project saved as Excel and selected the "Project Template" file. Now I am trying to import that XLS to see how it works

I did a quick test using your example although I didn't include the Predecessor or Outline Level fields to keep things a little simpler. I imported the Excel data into a new Project file with a single import of task and assignment data. It is very important
to set up the Excel Workbook correctly. On Sheet 1 I entered the task data (Name, Duration, Start). I did not include the ID or finish date as that is redundant - Project generates its own ID and will calculate the finish date based on the start date and duration.
On Sheet 2 I entered the assignment data basically just as you show it except I didn't include the Units.
The data imported as expected.

Why does iPhoto 9.6 upgrade not load
I have been unable to download IPhoto 9.6 since upgrading to Yosemite, now running v.10.10.1.

I called apple support since I had this same exact problem after upgrading. http://www.apple.com/support/ My problem was that I have a MACBOOK PRO that i had bought used from someone else and they had iPhoto included on the Mac. When updates came out I could never update it since the previous owner owned it and when I tried to update it a box popped up and said to sign-in with a GREY APPLE ID BOX pre-filled with the previous owners id (email.) 1. Go to finder on the top right and type in "applications" and enter. 2. Look for the iPhoto application logo. 3. Click and drag the logo to the trash in on the bottom right on your mac. Now empty your trash by clicking on to the "trash bin" icon and on the top right you will see "empty" click that. 5. go to the app store and sign out from your account. (go to the top left and click on "store" and click sign-out) of course if you not signed in the first place you're fine. 6. Close the app store window. 7. Reopen window and type in on the top right search box: "iPhoto" and enter. 8. You will see the application and it should say "free" or some price. (for me it was free) once you click on that it says install and click that and then it says sign-in. 9. Put your apple id and password. (if it says its free you won't be paying but if it says a price you will be charged) just to let you know. 10. The application will start to download and you will be able to track its process in the "launchpad" (the app that is a rocketship.) 11. The download takes 5-10 minutes. 12. Click on the iPhoto app and you will see that it will load up. A box will pop up saying that it will need to be upgraded. Click on the button that says "upgrade." 13. It should load up in less than 5 minutes depending on how many photos you have in your library.
14. You will be ready to go! You might see that the icon for iPhoto has a circle and line through it but that is fine. Just exit out of iPhoto and click on it again.The icon should be replaced with the new look icon for iPhoto.
I did as suggested and removed iPhoto from my applications folder, emptied trash, closed the App Store and searched for iPhoto. The icon appeared and it informed me that it was downloading when in fact it is still "waiting" as has been the case since I first tried to download the new version.
Can ANYONE please help? I've tried everything else i can find and the above seemed to work for a number of others with the same problem, but not for me.

Your namesake Bruce Devlin helped improve my golf game many years ago thanks to his book, "Play like the Devil" if I remember the title correctly. I applied his instructions to controlling my swing and my game improved greatly! It's a pity he couldn't help my putting!
Your advice enabled me to solve the problem, or so it seems. iPhoto is downloading as I type. Hopefully it continues this time.
To assist others I'll expand on my experience in taking your advice.
I first had to locate Launchpad. It wasn't in my dock. Spotlight didn't provide a result when I typed "launchpad" into the search window.
A search of "where's launchpad on my mac" using Safari directed me to my Application folder and I dragged the icon onto my dock for future convenience.
I then opened Launchpad and the Apps appeared. iPhoto was greyed out (along with another whose purpose I can't recall.)
I tried dragging the iPhoto icon to trash but Trash wouldn't accept the attempt at disposal.
Another search of "deleting Apps from Launchpad" using Safari advised me to click and hold the cursor on an icon (or press the option key) until the icons all wriggle. An appeared on the top left corner of the icons and when clicked a dialog box appeared and put the question "Do you want to remove the IPhoto App?" I clicked yes and, lo and behold, the icon changed from grey to normal colour and lots of blinking stars flashed around the icon. The flashing continued for several minutes so I clicked the again, answered the question again in the affirmative, and this time the App disappeared!
I returned to the APP store, typed iPhoto in the search window and the iPhoto Apps appeared. I selected "Get" and it started downloading.
I hope my above dissertation on the procedure helps others like me who lack the knowledge on how to "cancel the download" as you simply put it.
I appreciate the time and interest you've devoted to assisting me in this case, and many others in the past, judging by your Level 10 status and number of points. It would be nice if you could convert them into dollars!

IPhoto gives import error "file not valid" when import more than one photo
Trying to import lots of photos.
Every time I try to import more than a few, I get an error that "The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type of the files may not contain valid data)."
When I go back to importing just one at a time, it works fine every time.
I have tried rebuilding the iPhoto library as well.
I have tried also not copying into the iPhoto library and copying into the iPhoto library (using Preferences/Advanced/Importing).
Any help would be great.
This is painful doing one-by-one, and each one I bring in shows as a separate event...
Every once in a while I will get lucky and it will import more than 5, though I will still get the error before it imports all selected. Ugh!Unfortunately did not work.
And now a silly question - how do I get to be able to see my original iPhoto library? When I try to open it, I don't see any of the albums and mobileme galleries I had created anymore (though I can still see them on the web) -

This has never happened before, and I've tried deleting all photos off my phone then syncing them all instead of specific events and nothing. I have around 10 events in my iphoto library but around 3,500 pictures. I have more than enough space on my phone but I only like to sync certain events, so when I go sync them I notice there are over 40 events listed, and all of them have the same name but it seems as though each "event" has like 2 photos.. On my phone all the different events come up as well. This is super annoying, does anyone know how to fix this ?
I have the exact same problem!
I have about 25 albums and a total of 8,100 pictures. When i go to iTunes -> "My iphone" -> Pictures, and then check the box to sync choses events the list of events is messed up. The same events shows up like 3-4 times and the events only have a couple of pictures in them.
Does anyone know what can be causing this? Or what can be done to fix it?

Why does Iphoto 8.1.2 not open & ask for an upgrade?
I was running iPhoto 8.1.2 on my IMAC purchased in 2009 fine until I had a HDD crash and needed to reinstall it from the ILife disk that came with it. I no longer can open it on my IMAC running 10.7.5 as I get these errors:

What do I need to do?and what version o iPhoto do you currently have installed? Probably 8.0.0 - you need to update to he version you had before you reinstalled - 8.1.2 - and then everything will be fine
If you want to upgrade to Mavericks go ahead ands purchase iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x in the App store - but there is not need to do that if you are happy with what you have - simply update iPhoto to 8.1.2
