Why does iphoto open every time i connect my kodak playsport camcorder?
Please help every time i connect my kodak playsport camcorder to imovie it opens iphoto and i really dont know how to just upload my video into imovie please help .thanks
The longer question though, which I placed on another thread in another forum, was why has the system stopped working as it used to? I have an iMac running OS10.4 and iLife 08, and a PowerBookPro running OS10.6 and iLife 09 and on both of them I have connected up the camera in the past and edited using iMovie without any problem. What's changed that now means `I have to faff around using another program when I have always been able, before, to capture straight from the camera?
In specific response to your reply, my video files, when I do a straight transfer from the camera onto the desk top, show up as .mod and .moi files, not MPEG2. But they won't then open in iMovie.

Why does iPhoto quit every time after I say do not delete the photos from the camera after downloading?
I have not have this issue before. I have iphoto 9.1.1. (531) and Lion OS. I connect the camera to iphoto and started to download the photos. Everything got downloaded up till when the iphoto asks if i want to delete or keep the photos. I say keep and click when at this moment iphoto quits unexpectedly. I start iphoto with option and command and click on rebuild the library and examine and repair permissions. I also deleted cache and looked in the preferences folder but could not find anything starting com.apple.iphoto.
Then it works again however until I start again. I also tried to download individual photos where it works for some and for some it quits. here is the error message:

Why does Safari open every time I open AppleScript
Every time I simply open (not run) a certain AppleScript, Safari opens(it is not told to do so unless the program runs, which it isnt)
ps - I am somewhat experienced with AppleScript, so I know that Im not doing anything to make it run the script
thanks youI see it has stopped, but if the Safari Dictionary was open when you quit Applescript Editor, it will open the Dictionary when it opens, thus opening Safari.
But, if you didn't have the Safari Dictionary open, I don't know what was going on. -
Why does iTunes open every time I try to open a download?
I know I sound ridiculous, and I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious, but how do I change the default setting (iTunes) for downloads? Every time I try to open a downloaded game, application, or any other media, iTunes pops up to open the item (which is incorrect AND frustrating), and I can't figure out how to change this.
Dunno. Do you have an example SVG that crashes Illy on your computer?

Why does iPhoto open whenever I turn on my Kodak printer?
I asked this question once before, but have misplaced the answer. Whenever I turn on my printer iPhoto opens ready to import photos. I remember the reason this happens had something to do with photos on my iPod Touch, but cannot recall the details. Will someone please enlighten me once again as to how I go about correcting this?
Okay, I get this whenever I connect my iPod touch to the iMac everytime aswell so don't feel out of line, iPhoto is set to open whenever you connect a Camera, iPod, Recorder or any other kind of device that takes down images/films so that you can upload it to iPhoto and stream it to your friends.
If you don't want this to happen, just check out Preferences and there should be a selection to cancel this 'auto-open'. Hope I've given you a little step closer to the answer. Otherwise please reply to this hasty response. -
Why does iPhoto crash every time i share on Facebook?
iPhoto hangs up after sucessfully posting a single photo to Facebook.
I've opened the program using option command and have now done each of the many choices.
I've repaired permissions there and with disk utility.
I've seen it hang up other times as well, after editing a picture, so it may not simply be a sharing issue.
what else can i do?Ok, I tried to log on my Mac as a Guest and the preferences worked fine while I was signed in as a guest. So now I'm confused

Why does iPhoto Crash every time i click on preferences?
I need your help!!! I am running iPhoto 9.2.2 and everytime I click on preferences, the application crashes. It has been happeniong for a while so I deleted it from my MacBrook Pro and reinstalled it to the tune of $15 from the app store. However, same problem. I have run the Repair Disk Permissions and it did not solve the problem. I am running Mac OS X 10.7.3 and all software is up to date and I am not having any issues with any other application. The message I am getting is below.

When I check in Settings, Notes has disappeared from the list of Apps
On my iPhone, yet I didn't delete it. I had dozens of notes, lots
of necessary information stored therein.
Thanks for any help....I was having this issue also. I found this thread and disabling Exchange Notes did the trick. Obviously, this is the solution only if you were using Exchange to begin with.
If you want to continue to use Exchange notes or perhaps try this to see if it works in general, I found a fix on this site. All works well now.
1. Delete your exchange account from the Mail, Contacts & Calendars pane in System Preferences.
2. Go to Finder, click "Go" in the menu bar, click "Go to Folder" and type in "~/Library" (without the quotes) in the box. This will take you to your user Library folder.
3. Use the search box in the finder and type in "com.apple.notes" and click "Library" in the search bar that appears. This should now find several folders and files related to the Notes app. Rename or delete everything except the help files (with the lifesaver icons on them).
4. Restart your Mac. Put your exchange account back into System Preferences, you can go ahead and activate the Notes sync service.
5. Open Notes and it should be working now! -

why does fcpx crash every time i try to edit titles/text?? I'm trying to wrap up a project for work and now fcpx thinks it needs to crash every time i click on a "title" to edit it. It's making the completion of this project nearly impossible.
nope, i'm just using the select tool "a" to move my titles .. if the inspector is open, the second i click on any title in any project the whole program crashes. but with the inspector closed i can move my titles at will without a crash. i'm not sure what's allowing me to manipulate titles since you've said Lion updates haven't fixed this function. and i'm not sure what's making fcpx crash to the ground every time i click a title with the inpector open. all i know is that this little loophole i've found is working for me and has allowed me to complete my project this morning which is awesome.

Becasue you have not set your preferences in itunes to open when a device is connected and you have set iphoto to open when a digital camera is connected. -

Hello, my 9800 has started freezing up when my 16gb media card is inserted. It's almost all music, about 15gb worth. I have re-formatted the card and re-installed the music, same result. Any ideas? It was working fine. My songs are all mp3 or m4a.
