Why does it keep "not responding and it won't accept my password??. Will not respond???

For several days it does not respond properly. I click on different things and it does nothing, and I () at the top left it say "thunderbird is not responding." In addition, it stopped accepting my password for some unknown reason. I have spent hours with my server and the problem is with Thunderbird! I need this to work and respond immediately. Please fix!!!! Janet

In your first post you mention you have done a reset and a restore. Those are the last two processes in the user troubleshooting. If those do not work, then the last thing is to go to the Genius Bar. You say you went to Apple and they opened the phone and re-seated the connectors? That sounds unusual, because if there was a hardware issue,they would replace the hardware. You say you cannot get a replacement, is that because you are out of warranty? An out of warranty replacement is only $199 plus tax. It seems to me since you mention the fact you need to press hard to get the screen to react there is something going on with the hardware. If this problem has been going on for over a year, have you been reporting this to Apple. You say you cannot get a replacement and you are on the second phone, I wonder why they are denying you a replacement. Is there something you are not telling us??

What worked for me, is going to the camera app, switch to video, turn on flash, and record. Let the phone record for about 10 minutes. (your phone will probably keep reseting itself) but that is okay, let it reset, and go back the the camera app and repeat. what you are supposed to do is let the phone sit there and wait for the back to feel sort of hot. stop recording at about 8 minutes and plug your phone into itunes, it should be charging, and once you do so you can then set your phone into DFU mode. This might not help you, or it will. I just fixed my iphone today, that had the same problem as you. so keep trying and it will come back to normal again! Cheers!

I'm trying to sync my firefox and it won't accept my password.

Firefox Sync won't accept my password and when I tried to reset it I keep getting hung up on the "An unexpected error occurred. If this continues, please contact support." response after filling out the "Reset Password" fields. I wan't to sync Firefox for this pc. How can I get around this?

I solved the problem. Apparently, when I tried to sign up in sync the first time, it didn't go through. All I had to do is re-apply. I used the same username and everything (that's how I know it didn't go throught the first time). My Firefox is now synced and there are no further problems.
P.S.
If only I could sync my Firefox bookmarks, calender and notes with Opera, Safari and Chrome. That'd be great. I like using different browsers for different purposes. When I need the browser to disappear so all I see is what's in the window, Opera works best. Firefox can't disable the tool-bar "Auto-hide" feature in full screen mode. And Safari doesn't have a Hot-key for full-screen. At least not that I've seen.

Why does the option to watch a movie even appear if it then will not play because not downloaded? Worse, then only 23hrs left to watch!! Paying for what is not delivered!!

ITUNES: Why does the option to "watch movie now" appear & when chosen movie will not play because still downloading. WHY SHOULD THE OPTION APPEAR IF MOVIE CAN"T BE PLAYED. Then when movie is viewable, only 23hrs to watch! PAYING FOR MOVIES WITHOUT OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW does not make happy consumer. Emailed Itunes over and over about problem and stilll paying for services unrendered.

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

How do you update apps that where purchased using different iTunes accounts? I get a cannot connect to iTunes message and it won't accept the password even after you change it.

Both my iPad and iPhone have the same problem. I have purchased apps with three different accounts. I understand I will need to use the original acct to do the update but every time it asks for the password I put it in and get a message that I cannot connect to iTunes store. I have even had the password reset and it still will not connect on the upgrade. But I can sign in with that account and purchase new apps i am loading a free one now just to make sure. So what is that about? Please do not tell me I have to also use the original password! We have reset them so many times that there is no way to remember the original one used at time of purchase a year and 1/2 ago. Please help. I have also upgraded to the iCloud thinking this would solve the problem but it still exists.

I use only one Apple ID and only one ID. I did have to change the password at one point but I had no issues at all with updating apps after I changed the password.
If you can download new apps with the ID that you changed the password for, I would think that you will be able to update apps associated with that ID as well.
Did you try restarting the iPad after signing out of the one account and then sign in to the other account/accounts?

Old apple id prevents updates - when I go to do updates it shows my old apple ID and it won't accept my password

When I try to update apps the screen shows a former apple ID. And I then don't know the correct password. How can I get the iphone to show my current ID so my current password will work? I have tried re-enterring my new Apple ID, but can't get rid of the old apple ID.

It is asking for the old Apple ID because that is the account that bought those Apps, and therefore it is the only account that can update those Apps. If you want it to stop asking for your old password, you need to delete any Apps purchased with your old account, and repurchase them with your new one.

Why does calendar keep changing dates and times on icloud

My calendar keeps randomly changing dates and times when using icloud and it is doing my head in.
Is there a simple way of rectifying this or do I have to get rid of icloud altogether (to save my sanity?)

If this is an iCloud calendar, you might want to check your time zone and time zone support settings. Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you. Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off.

Why does Itunes keep freezing up and stop working?

It is kind of getting old but my Itunes player (does not matter which one as I update to the latest version) has this nasty habit of freezing whether I am trying to listen to the radio or my own library.
It is now happening almost every time I use Itunes and when it freezes the only fix is to do the old Control-Alt-Delete.
I am running a 64 bit Window's 7 home premium and prefer using Itunes but you know if you does not work get something else
I have 4 GBs Ram with a 2.6 Dual Core Pentium

Just out of curiosity when you say iTunes sent you here, do you mean that there was a link to here in the iTunes application, or that someone from Apple sent you here?
There are lots of posts from general iTunes users on this forum so I'm curious to know if/how people are being misdirected.

Why does it keep saying my security code is invalid, but it clearly is not?

I used a gift card my brother had bought me for christmas and I assumed I could used it because it was american express and it had a card number. So I put that in and it seemed to work fine, but when I tried to switch back from the american express to my visa, it said that my security code was invalid and that my card had been declined(the american express).

Why does Firefox keep opening Facebook and how can I stop it happening?

I have Facebook open in secure mode on a Firefox home tab. Now every time I open Firefox it tries to open Facebook in insecure mode. If I close the tab it just opens another.
This is very annoying. How do I stop Firefox doing this?

Why does my iMac just quit and it won't turn back on. Sometimes I can start it a few days later.

It was working just fine and then it just quit. I tried turning it back on but it wouldn't work. Then like 3 days later, I tried turning it on and it came on and worked ok and just quit again. Again, I tried turning it back on and again, it wouldn't come on. I tried again a few days later and it came on. What the heck is wrong with this computer? It had a program called deep freeze on it when I first obtained it. That program would not allow me to make any changes or save anything. A friend gave me a disk and I installed it and it took that program away. It was working fine and then as I said, just quit. I got the computer from an auction from a community college and deep freeze was the program they used to make sure the students using the computers couldn't change anything. When ever the computer got turned off, it would default back to factory settings. When it first turned off and wouldn't start again, I tried taking out one of the two memory sticks and it worked. I then went and bought two new memory sticks and installed them and it worked ok. Then it started doing the same thing again.

Intermittently and without obvious pattern, Firefox stops responding and, after being closed via task manager, will not reopen unless I restart my computer.

Firefox 5 stops responding after I use it for awhile. Once I close it through the task manager, it refuses to reopen and I am forced to restart my computer to get Firefox to work again.
Note: This problem also occurred in Firefox 3 before I updated.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

Why does my iphone print ok when I am near the printer but will not print from other locations?

Just got a new HP Officejet Pro 8600 and everything works except that I cannot print from my iphone when I am not at home. It works fine when I am near the printer. It doesn't even show my printer when I try to print from a location other than at home.
