Why does it keep saying my security code is invalid, but it clearly is not?

I used a gift card my brother had bought me for christmas and I assumed I could used it because it was american express and it had a card number. So I put that in and it seemed to work fine, but when I tried to switch back from the american express to my visa, it said that my security code was invalid and that my card had been declined(the american express).

If you know the card ifo is valid I would contact the iTunes store. Go to the Itunes Store Account and Billing section of the following:

After I try to purchase a song it ask for my password, then ask for me to update my billing stuff and ask only for the security code on the back of my debit card so I read it straight off the back and type it in and it says my card is wrong, I have sufficient funds and the debit card works every where else? If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank.

The security code is the 3 or 4 digit code on your card - on most cards it's on the back of the card on the signature strip, but on some cards (e.g. Amex cards) it's on the front.

If the App Store doesn't recognize your password, you should try to log into iTunes on your PC and make sure your password still works. If it doen't work there you may have been hacked and you will need to get in touch with Apple directly.

If the security code or anything else is rejected the rejection comes from your card issuer. Apple is just passing the message along. So you need to contact the issuer.

Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.

Why does my phone say that I have entered the wrong security code off of my debt card when i'm trying to download any app free or otherwise? I know all my info is correct and my debt card is good.

Mine is doing the same. I've tried several different cards all with the same response.
