Why does it now take 5 minutes to save to drafts or sent folder?
Haven't changed anything, but in the last 3 days, I'm constantly interrupted in the middle of composing email while it freezes up and I get the blue waiting wheel when TB saves to drafts. I extended the amount of time between saves, but it still hangs up for about 5 minutes when it does save to drafts and while it's saving to my sent folder. I've rebuilt the global data base, instructed McAfee to leave it alone, disabled the McAfee add-on and restarted TB in safe mode (it's still a problem). I've also run virus protection programs, junk ware removal tool and de-fragmented my hard drive. And optimized it. And updated to the newest version of Thunderbird - now I'm at a loss to think of anything else. I'm running Windows 8 - any thoughts?
McAfee. But I disabled the McAfee app in TB and also went into McAfee and unchecked Thunderbird.

SSafari pages wee closed by clicking the x in the upper left hand corner, now, to find thatL you have to scroll a page down so it shows up, and of there is only one page, you have to: 1) click the "pages" icon (just guessing that's what it is) in the upper right hand corner; 2) om the slanted image of the page, click the x on the upper left hand corner. 3 steps instead of 1. Im in u.s., was searching for app, was asked to change store, i did, tried downloading canadian app, was informed i had to purchase from u.s. store (is this true, even though it is a free download) then it left me there without instructions on how to return to u.s. store.
Now ipad is stuck in canadian store. How do i return to u.s. store?You have to find an app that is only available in the US store.
If the problem is on an iPad, etc:
Go to a search engine (like google) on the iPad/iPhone Safari and type in abc app download. Then find find a link that says iTunes.apple.com/us/app/abc-player. Tap it, and it will access the App Store. Eventually, a box should pop up that asks you if you want to switch to the US store. Confirm that, and it should bring you back to the US store. You don't need to download the abc app.
If on a computer:
I haven't confirmed it yet, but I believe there is a flag icon at the bottom of the iTunes Store main page similar to the one at the bottom of this page that you can use to change your country. -
Why does iTunes freeze up for minutes at a time when modifying INFO (CMD-i) ? My files are not corrupted after it is done like many other threads i have readed. Sometimes it's changing the title of a movie or editing the season and episode number of a TV show ect.....

I am running the latest iTunes, the latest updates to the OS and on an iMac 3.4GHz Quad core i7 with 8GB of RAM and the music stored on local HDD.
Still locks up iTunes for between 2 minutes up to 20 minutes.
Really annoying.
If you find a fix please, please let me know, I have just been throwing hardware at it with no joy at all -

If you are trying to rent a movie and it's taking a long time before it starts then that is due to your connection.
720P requires 6mbps for instant streaming
1080P requires 8mbps
You can switch to SD in the settings

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on any iOS devices that you have by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page -

There are only three possibilities. Either a dangling hand hitting the c key, or if you have a bluetooth keyboard connected and something is pressing a key, or you have some bad harware. Eliminate the first two, and if you still have the problem, take it in for service or replacement

Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn't work.
You need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/ Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible. -

First, Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk. You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Repair reports and if DU was able to repair them. This could just be a start in repairs and you may need a better utility to finish the job.
Then Repair Permissions.
No need to report any Permissions errors........we all get them.

well, i found out why, and here it is...
there was an invisible folder entitled "volumes" which contained 300 gb worth of unsuccessful time machine transfers. i would not have been able to ever find it or know of it's existence (since it never returned any search results) had it not been for some innocuous little microsoft word virus. (i ran virus check and found multiple copies of the same word file infected, and was able to open each in finder view to follow them back to their originating folder(s), and the rest is history)
