why does facebook say adobe flash is not installed when it is - windows 7 IE11????

Unless you're on a company computer and locked down to prevent using anythng else, I'd recommend you drop Microsoft's pathetic excuse for a browser and download Firefox.
Then install the Flash Player Plug-in (For other browsers), and free yourself from the chains of the guys in Redmond, WA who can only seem to get things right 50% of the time.

What does this mean? what do i have to do next?

If you are using a USB hub, switch to a USB port directly on the iMac.

  • Why does it say my computer is not authorized for apps installed my iPhone?

    Why does this happen occasionally?
I just got home and sat down at my computer to work and plugged in my iPhone to charge and I got this nonsense message (and this has happened a few times in the past)
So I clicked on authorize and entered my apple ID. Then it gives me this message that makes me say "Duh!" (I've had this phone for over a year, plugging it into my computer every day, including earlier today just fine)
But the worst thing is that after I click OK on that message, it gives me the first message again!  I'm forced to click on Don't Authorize or go around in an endless circle.
    Please tell me what's going on . . . ?

    I'm using OS X version 10.10.1
In my phone settings it says Version 8.1.2
Maybe there's some confusion because when I bought this iMac in 2011 the only other Apple device we already owned was my daughter's iPod, and we have plugged it in to this machine. But definitely by the time I got my iPhone in November 2013 I created my own Apple ID. There was great confusion at that time because of having two Apple IDs and I'm still confused.
But right now I have a worse problem so I'll be moving to my other thread (in which I wondered whether it's possible to revert to an older OS).

  • When trying to burn a cd in itunes, why does it says cd burner software not found?

When trying to burn a cd, itunes says cd burner software not found.

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". (If you're running iTunes 11.0.x you'll need to bring up your menu bar first to see the Help menu.) Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)

  • HT3209 why does it say my device is not hd compatible, i have 15 inch macbook with retina display

I was trying to rent a Movie on the itunes store and it had an error message saying my device was not HD compatible.

I had the same problem on my fancy new retina display macbook pro.  It appears that if the last device you watched a movie on was not HD compatible (e.g. my old Apple TV at 720P) it will give you this error, even though you intended to watch the movie on your laptop.  Just go to the output selector button next to the volume slider and select your computer as the output device, then retry to download the HD movie and it will work.  My Apple TV was (literally) thousands of miles from my laptop when it gave me this error.  Software glitch.

  • Quick upload is not configured.

    Hello,
Ive downloaded 'Google Sketchup' for my course but when I go to open it this pops up:
'In order to use the quick upload feature, you must first select a favorite folder by right clicking one and choosing 'Set as Favorite'.'
This may sound straight forward enough but not to me.
    What folder do they mean?
I created a folder in documents but when i right clicked there was no option to set it to favourite.
Where do I go from here?
    Please help!!

  • Why does it say my PC is not compatible with iCloud?

Why cant I download update my itunes to have icloud on my old PC? I just got a new iphone and cant sync them. HELP!

It might help for me to tell the whole story. I have a Dell laptop with Vista on it. I used forever with iTunes for y iPod. When I got an iPhone 4 I used it as well. I never updated the iTunes download for unknown reasons, so I never had iCloud on my iPhone 4. I recently got a new laptop and couldn't just iCloud my iTunes account to my new laptop. Yesterday I traded my iPhone 4 for a 4s and I am unable to get any content on my new phone because my old iTunes on my dell with vista won't download it. It says "windows installer is missing" a file to install the newer version of iTunes. Thanks for all your help.

  • Why does it say my contact's not registered when he is?

I have my friend in my contacts. I tried adding him on iMessage on my iPad, but it says he's not registered. But I saw him use it on his iPhone. What's happening?

An iPhone can send SMS messages like any other cell phone or smart phone via the carrier data plan. The iOS messages app only works with other iOS devices and Mac computers running Mountain Lion or Mavericks. So are you sure that your friend wasn't just sending an SMS message? He still has to turn on and activate iMessage in order to use it on his phone.

  • HT3209 I have a MBP w/Retina Display, why does iTunes say HD content will not play on my device?

is anyone else having this issue?

MBPr's are very recent machines.  The oldest ones are from this past summer.  Mine has a quad-core i7 2.6 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5, along with the Retina display.  This is more than enough system power to display HD movies, per the article you reference unhelpfully.

  • WHY DOES IT SAY BATTERY NOT CHARGING WHEN I TRY TO CHARGE MY IPAD??

WHY DOES IT SAY BATTERY NOT CHARGING WHEN I TRY TO CHARGE MY IPAD ???

How are you trying to charge it, via a computer or the wall plug ? If a computer, then a lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
If the wall charger then have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?
And for info typing in capitals is considered SHOUTING.

  • ITunes says I have authorized five computers so I can no longer play music I have purchased. I have not replaced my computer once. Why does iTunes say this?

iTunes says I have authorized five computers so I can no longer play music I have purchased. I have not replaced my computer once. Why does iTunes say this?

    Hey Christownsend,
Thanks for the question. To troubleshoot this issue, you may want to try deauthorizing all computers:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
    1. Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
    2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8?

Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8? I had an older version of Firefox and it said I needed to update it but that was the message that appeared.

Sorry, it's because Firefox 4+ are only compiled for the Intel processors.
There is a separate project for PPC Macs called Ten Four Fox. You might give it a spin when you're tired of 3.6.

  • Why does itunes say the entry point is not found

why does itunes say it didn't install correctly and to reinstall?

Greg, did the "Patchburn" really work for you?
I had the same problem today. I have a smart playlist made up of: Kind>is>Protected AAC audio file. This smart play list allows me to keep track of music I've downloaded from the iTMS after inadvertently deleting the Purchased Music default playlist. Yes, I know a new “Purchased Music” playlist is created when you buy music again, but it doesn’t contain any of the songs you’ve already downloaded.
When I went to burn this playlist (several hundred songs) to multiple audio CD format - I go the same result you got.
"After asking to burn a play list it asks to insert CD, checks the media, checks the play list and then stops with the apple icon reappearing and NO error message."
Apple tech support couldn’t help me - I found that out the hard way - after 1.5 hours on the phone. No, I haven't exceeded the 7 time burn limit either.
I tried selecting all the songs in the smart playlist and creating a new [regular] playlist and tried to burn from that, but got the same result.
Finally, I tried typing "Protected AAC audio file" from my main library in the search window, selected all the songs that resulted, created a new [regular] playlist from that selection and the burn was successful.
It was a real pain and took almost 3 hours to figure out, but it worked. I'm going to try the "Patchburn" download talked about earlier, but don't know if that's the real problem.
Yes, I have upgraded my SuperDrive, but iTunes recognizes it - Preferences>Advanced>Burning - if your drive shows up here then that's not the problem. Besides, I had the same problem when trying to burn to the original SuperDrive too.
I think the problem may be deeper inside iTunes itself. Duh! Maybe something with Apple tightening their DRM scheme which may make us unwitting beta testers to see if they tightened the noose too tight or not. Just a guess.
    Any thoughts, anyone?
