Why does it takes so long to deliver the Retina iMac with modifications?

I ordered an iMac 27" Retina 5K at a local retailer in Kapellen (Belgium). I have made some modifications to the basic model, e.g. Fusion HDD 3TB, more memory and so on. I am waiting for almost 4 weeks and no one can tell me when the machine will be ready. How comes? Does anybody has experience with this extremely long delivery times?

You are absolutely right. I'm new on this forum. Sorry.
I was only hoping that some Apple people would read this. By the way: Apple said: 3 weeks. We are starting the 5th week tomorrow, without any explanation. My apologies for my frustration.
I see, then call Apple's online store and speak to a customer service agent. Ask for expedited shipping., don't be surprised if they say OK.

why does it takes so long to download the new version of Itunes?

Since you cannot download iTunes on an iPod touch, this would not seem to be the correct forum for this question. I'd suggest you post full details of your problem in either the iTunes for Mac forum or the iTunes for Windows forum, as applicable to your system.

  • Why does it take so long to start up my iMac

it is taking so long to start up my imac    why i do not know?  can anybody tell me why

    'so long'...?
    Minutes? hours? days?
Time is relative in this respect.
In any case, check your system.log after a reboot. It will contain a slew of timestamped startup messages showing what the system did during startup. Look for error messages or steps that take a long time to execute.

  • After clicking on a link, why does it take so long to find the site - and sometime not find it at all?

This seemed to begin right after Firefox update several wks ago. It sometimes takes up to 2 min to find a site after I click on link (whether in an email or on another site). This has been happening at least 90% of the time since then. There have been a few times when it did NOT happen; those seemed to be earlier in the day (mid-morning on W Coast) and possibly for a couple of days after Firefox did another update a few wks after the previous one. Sometimes it does not find the site at all and I get the "Oops! Sorry" msg.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Why does it take so long for iTunes Match to  synch with IOS Device?

This weekend I ripped about 15 CD's that I had purchased from Amazon.com. For some reason it took a long, long time to get into iMatch. Granted some of the CD's weren't popular and may have needed to actually upload as opposed to match with already stored music. But some were new, and popular releases.
Typcially I rip, let iMatch do its thing and just stream the music, not download, to my IOS devices. I did leave my iMac running for several hours, and even after iTunes on the iMac showed an successful match some music didn't show up for a day, or if it did it was "ghosted" and I could not get it to stream.

have the same problem since upgrading to i tunes 7 and can only guess it's the size of my library - nearly 200gb. A friend of mine who's library is 20 gb or so has no such problems. If there's another reason and we can do something about it I too would love to know!

  • Why does it take so long to stream movies from itunes with Apple TV?

Every time I try to rent a movie from iTunes, it says it will take minimum 40 minutes to load.  Just now it said 5 hours and 30 minutes!!
    What is the deal?

This is likely due to your network.
    Check www.speedtest.net
6mbps is required for instant HD
Check for interference (check www.istumbler.net for mac or netstumbler for windows)
Make sure you're using your IsPs DNS

  • Why does it take so long to download the Epson driver update?

App Store asked me to update my Epson printer software to 2.15.1 and I clicked OK... That was over an hour ago and it's not even at 3.6MB of the 39.7MB!!! It's giving me that crap about "7 hours and 3 minutes remaining".
What's interesting is that just a few minutes before downloading this update, I downloaded IOS 7 and iTunes 11 in under 1 minute... Is there anyway I can find out where am I downloading this update from and what's causing it to go so slow?

They're around 400 - 500MB each, so it depends on the speed of your internet connection.
After iOS 5 is released updates should be much smaller though.

  • Why does it take so long to do an intial backup with the iPod Touch?

I restored my iPod Touch 2nd generation because I wanted to delete a bunch of the music off and I couldn't get it to do that. I have gotten it back to the base, but now when I try to sync the stuff I want to it, it will not do anything. It keeps saying backing up. It has said this for a while now. iTunes keeps locking up during the process too!

  • Why does it take so long to receive your itunes receipt

When you buy something on itunes why does it take so long to receive the receipt??

Because the receipt usually gathers all your purchases over the course of a week or so and combines them into one receipt. Do you really want a receipt for every app or song you download??

  • Why does it take so long to access older messages on this site?

Just curious, but why does it take so long to access the older messages
(and related responses) on this site?
When I do a search, the list of results comes up immediately, but when
I click on an entry to see the full message I run into problems. If
the entry is relatively new (say less than six months old), the full
message and related responses displays within seconds, but if it is
old than that, it can take up to 15 minutes or more to display
    everything.
I have tried different browser, different operating systems, with and
without proxies and firewalls, on T1, on DSL, on dial-up, and the same
    thing always happens.
Anyone know what is causing this, and a way I can fix it?
    Thanks

Hey that happens to me too....I think they are archived a different way then the new post, so it takes longer to retrieve them.

First shut down the text app and clear both

  • Why does it take so long to delivery?!

Ordered my Macbook pro today. Dispatch date for the whole order is 1-3 business days. Delivery estimate is 19th - 23rd January (today is the 31st December!!) so why does it take so long for the courier to deliver?? That's over 3 weeks away and a long time between dispatch and delivery!

I'm lucky enough there is one in Southampton where I live and there are two in Bristol where I study so I could easily go and pick one up! Infact I think there is a store within an hours drive of anyone in the UK now, plus there are official Apple stalls (with Apple staff and Genius bar) in most electronic superstores. So not too hard to find!
However, the issue is that I'll be paying for my Pro through finance (Barclays in the UK) so I don't really want to have to cancel that as they do a credit check on you and I'm afraid applying for finance again would affect my rating so I'm not too keen on doing that.
And before any of you suggest it, my finance has already been approved and Barclays will credit Apple within one business day (Tuesday, after the New Year public holiday on Monday) so this is not a reason for the delivery to be slowed up.
Out of interest I went onto the store again and added all my items to the basket. I ordered a MacBook Pro (standard 2.4 GHz 500GB model), Microsoft Office for Mac and Apple Care under university pricing and the delivery estimate was for the 4th January. So I'm wondering what could have possibly delayed my order!!

  • What's wrong with this Forum? Why does Adobe take so long to reply to posts?!

What's wrong with this Forum? Why does Adobe take so long to reply to posts?!
This is actually "specific" to this Photoshop Forum.
I typically get responses back from other Adobe forum promptly.
    Chime in.

The Adobe engineering folks DO duck in here from time to time - and that's a BLESSING!  Please name any other big company where you get to interact with the engineers AT ALL.  I can't.  But I suspect the engineers actually have a lot oof real work to do, and their time here is necessarily limited.
Your comments are more along the line of "I pay a huge amount, for that I expect better support".  These are very valid comments.  But reality is different from what we may expect, and this forum is not the place to expect Adobe support participation AT ALL.  In fact, the technical support people at Adobe often direct users to come here (something I've always found amusing).
At the higher level, Adobe may simply not be spending enough on support for literally millions of users.  Is is greed or smart business to try to minimize support cost?  That's up for individuals to decide.
I suggest you write a snail-mail letter to the Adobe president if you're not getting the support you need.

  • Why does it take so long to recognize my camera?

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XS.  When I plug it in, iPhoto jumps up and is in front on the screen, as it should, but then it takes 8 or 10 minutes for it to be identified and booted up into the sidebar. I just watch the wheels turn and the red light flicker, but it takes EIGHT or MORE minutes to be recognized!! And, sometimes the camera times itself out. Here is my question . . . WHY WHY WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO BE RECOGNIZED?!?!?!!? I could deal with 30 seconds, but this is just ridiculous. Is this a Canon issue? A driver issue? Heaven forbid, an Apple issue?  Does anybody have any insight on this or the same kind of experience?
    Mike

Next time you import reformat the card with the Camera - remember this will erase the card, so make sure you've emptied it first. Oh, and the use of block capitals is very impressive. Doesn't make it look like a tantrum at all.

  • On my mac why does it take so long to send a Email with an attachment, on my mac why does it take so lone to send a Email with an attachment

on my mac why does it take so long to send a Email with an attachment, on my mac why does it take so lone to send a Email with an attachment

It depends on the size of the attachment and the speed of your internet connection.
Next time you send an email with an attachment do these two things:
In Apple Mail (I assume you are using Apple Mail), under the Window menu select Activity. Arrange the Activity window so you can see it.
Then open the separate application located in the Utilities folder called "Activity Monitor" and arrange it so you can see it at the same time as the Activity window in Mail.
In Activity Monitor program, select the tab labeled "Network." Watch the "Data sent/sec" portion. Then send your email, while watching the Mail Activity window and also the Activity Monitor program window Data sent/sec area.
You should see the mail being sent with a progress bar in the Mail Activity window and also you should be able to see how many bytes/sec or KB/sec or MB/sec your internet connection is giving you in the Activity Monitor window.
Example: my internet provider gives me about 20 Megabits per second download and 5 Megabits per second upload. To convert these to Megabytes per second (Activity Monitor shows things in bytes, not bits), simply divide by 10 (not the exact thing to do, but close enough). So I get 0.5 Megabytes per second upload speed. When I send a file that is 5 Megabytes in size, it takes about 10 seconds if I am getting the full upload bandwidth. If I am getting less than that (which sometimes happens), it will take proportionately more time. Either way, you can see what is happening with these two windows.
If your internet provider is supposed to give you, say, 5 Megabits/sec upload (0.5 Megabytes/sec), but you see only say, 5 KB/sec (=0.005 Megabytes/sec), sent in Activity Monitor, then your emails are taking a long time because you are getting only abut 1/100 the speed you should be. You might want to check with your internet provider about that.
