Why does Itunse say that credit card processing is temporarily unavailable?
Basically what the title says, I'm trying to update my billing info and it won't let me and I don't know why. I've tried calling apple but I can't find phone support for itunes.
iTunes does not have phone support. I think they are working out of a mud hut in India. Apple acts like iTunes purchases have been outsourcesed.
Even Apple care cannot directly call iTunes support, its on a chat line. What are we talking about here, a $ 60 BILLION dollar business and its being supported less than PayPal. OK, I am ranting but I had three unauthorized charges on my iTUnes account this month.
Apple's response, they killed my card for use at Apple, they make me re set my password two times and then they killed my card. ***. I have been hacked or computer glitched here and its me that gets nailed. And I have not even heard if iTunes ever checked to whom the music was ordered by..... cause it was not me.
End of rant. but trust me, this will be a big hit against Apple, much bigger than antenna gate.

Hi guys.
I have been browsing for hours no with no avail to this problem I have been having.
I am trying to create a new account to use with the iTunes store - an account in my country, rather than using my US account to buy stuff from there.
My country (Bolivia) is new to the iTunes store, and as soon as I heard the store became available yesterday, I have been trying to register a new account. But everytime I get to the payment page and submit the info, I get the error "Credit Card Processing Is Temporarily Unavailable. Please Try Again Later".
Again, I have googled for this for hours with no avails. Common possible solutions were:
A lot of people mistyped the security code. But I have checked mine a thousand times, I'm completely certain I am getting it right, but I keep getting that message.
Some people mistyped the actual CC number. Another piece of info I retyped a couple of times so I'm sure I'm getting it right.
What are the chances the system is actually unavailable? A lot of people solved this problem and the issue wasn't related to a system being down at all. Could it be the fact my country is new to the iTunes store?
It's been like 6 hours since I tried to make the new account. That doesn't fit my definition of "Temporarily". I guess I will wait a day or two and see what happens, but in the meantime I would like to hear possible problems and/or solutions.
Oh, I almost forgot. If it matters, I am using an iTunes Beta on my MacBook Pro.Leonnears
I have the same problem, but being as you have had your account for 5 days by the time of this writing, I had mine for about a year. Recently, the security code showed up blank for the credit card I was using, and even when I used the correct security code, iTunes figured that it wasn't valid.
Thankfully, (go shopsafe!) it was easy to get another credit card for a dollar or two (I just want to update my free software for free...), yet this didn't work, for it again said that the security code was invalid.
Then, after a few tries, it said "Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Judging by other Apple forums, when this sort of thing happens, it's a problem on Apple's side, rather than my computer.
I came to this conclusion when I came to a forum that had a bunch of different people complaining that they can't buy music on iTunes. However, that forum was dated in 2008.
If someone finds contradictory information, feel free to reply to my post and tell me how I, too, could fix this.
And in case it matters, I am using a MacBook Air with OS X 10.6.8 and have iTunes 10.4. -

1. going to my iTunes account and selecting None as my method of payment, then clicking Done
2. confirming this on my account page - which then said Add (or Set up, I can't remember) a Credit Card
3. on the Add a credit card page, I again set up the exact same PayPal account I had before.
4. I was then taken to the PayPal website to confirm that I wanted to use my PayPal account for iTunes purchases, and finally
5. I was taken back to my account page in iTunes, which looked exactly the same as before BUT...
The next time I tried it, my purchase went straight through! (And this was less than 5 minutes after I'd had the "Credit Card processing is temporarily unavailable" message.)
YMMV, but I guess a similar revalidation process would work for credit cards too. -

I've tried to subscribe to iTunes Cloud for a couple of days now but receiving the message "credit card processing is temporarily unavailable". Tried to contact support but they need an apple serial number, I'm accessing iTunes from my HP laptop so doesn't recognize the serial number. How do I get Apple to sell me this subscription?

yes I've been having the same issues, I made one purchase last night, updated my apple tv and now i'm getting the unable to process credit card messages.
This is getting frustrating, and the appletv and macbook pro are going back to the store. I went round and round with support on my adc membership earlier this month and now I'm just frustrated with another apple issue. -

6 Weeks is a bit too much... let's check with iTS to see if there is some massive pod failures near you or something.

I just got a new itouch today, and tried downloading an app. it asked me to fill in my account info, including my payment method. First it said the security code was wrong, which it wasnt, then, it started telling me "Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable."
I just read that this has lasted a few days for some people. What can i di?wanted to bump this.
i get the same message. started initially when it said my zip code didn't match my area or something like that, and told me that "verification [is] required" before i can make purchases and that i had to sign in to verify my payment info.
which is what i did. same cc# i've been using the last few years. nothing changed. but i go thru the process of "verifying" by making sure all the info is correct and hit submit and then i get this message: "Credit card processing temporarily unavailable, try again later" or something similar. i've been getting that message for 4 days!!! so frustrating.
i tried deleting cookies, rebooting, doing it from my iphone, doing it from my desktop (which is the only authorized computer), updated itunes, updated the iOS... no dice, no nuthin. searched thru these forums and didn't find a solution, just a couple of threads like this one with no answers. -
Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8? I had an older version of Firefox and it said I needed to update it but that was the message that appeared.
Sorry, it's because Firefox 4+ are only compiled for the Intel processors.

I have the CANON REBEL T5 1200D, and when i connect it to my mac which is 10.10 the new OS X YOSEMITE it says that it "Cannot be used with this version of the operating system" why does it say that if my camera is listed under the supported digital cameras for OS X YOSEMITE?
Put simply, the minimum system requirements for iTunes have changed. You need a Mac running at least OS X 10.6.8.
It's best you look online to see if your model of Mac can be upgraded to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard". It should still be possible to order a copy of Snow Leopard if so. -

Try a re-set. If that doesn't fix it, restore. If that doesn't fixit, Set it up as a new device, preferably by putting into DFU mode.
If none of that fixes it, the WiFi radio has physically failed. -
My Apple ID is not letting me download apps it tells me to enter account details then it says that the payment processing is currently unavailable. I don't know what's wrong but can anybody help me out here

I have been getting this message since 12/30 around noon, and just figured there was a problem with the service. I logged on this morning expecting it to be resolved, but I am still getting the same error when I try to put in my credit card information. I just created a new account and its really frustrating to not be able to dl anything for my new ipod.
I managed to get it to work this morning. I went back through and used the same cards I had tried before. I still could not get it to work with my debit card, but it went through with my credit card. Both cards are issued by the same bank, so I am not sure what the reason was. Either way its working now.

now my iphone is 3GS 32GB and now it is version 4.1 and i make an update to 6.01 and the update is installed but there is an error saying that the activation server is temporarily unavailable and saying try connecting to itunes and to activate and i do but nothing new i need a solve for my proplem now !!
That message usually indicates that the phone was either hacked/modified or jailbroken?
