Why does logging into MobileMe fail from imac

For some reason, the mail application on my iMac fails to log into my MobileMe/iCloud email account.  It only affects one of my account, the other two work flawlessly.  I am able to access this same email account from Safari and my smartphone.  What gives?!?!  I deleted the mail account and re-added it, I checked the various email/firewall settings... this is really ******* me off!  Will someone please provide some help and/or incite?  Thank you advance.

I think I may have found the issue: I am running 10.6, so MobileMe is still the 'program' that it tries to access and, apparently, the default settings are no longer valid.  After deleting the the account, I attempted to add the account again, which of course failed.  I hit 'continue' at the bottom of the page after the fail and went to the next page which had a drop down menu with the following choices: MobileMe, POP, IMAP, etc.  Changing from the default MobileMe to IMAP did the trick.

    It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
    You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:
    TCP 123
    TCP 3689
    UDP 5353
    TCP 80
    TCP 4343
    TCP 53
    This may also solve other problems you may have with homesharing...

    We are using a eLink1.2 product on Windows 2000 OS. A DLL with following extract has been compiled and registered.
    ELATRACE(gmsgLevel, 9, ("ESeLinkSynch DLL: Test for <%d> trace level", nTraceLevel));
    When the DLL is invoked, the text contents are logged into ULOG. It has been noticed sometimes in production that logging into ULOG fails due to some reason. The Logging stops till the new ULOG file is generated ( at 0000 Hrs on next day ). We notice the following error in stderr file:
    GP_CAT:209: ERROR: Write error 9, file C:\TUX\ULOG.021506
    Any idea why this happens/how to stop/how to debug on this issue ?

    In older releases of Tuxedo, Tuxedo did not close and reopen the ULOG file
    following a write failure. This problem often caused the logging to
    continue to fail until a new log file was opened after midnight.
    This problem was fixed in Tuxedo 6.5 Rolling Patch 334 and in Tuxedo 6.4
    Rolling Patch 110, and the problem does not occur in Tuxedo 7.1 and above.
    If you are running Tuxedo 6.5 or 6.4 at an earlier patch level than the ones
    listed, please obtain the latest rolling patch from support.

  • IWeb hanging at logging into MobileMe (Personal Domain Problem)

    I've searched and searched for an answer to my problem all over the internet and these forums and keep coming up blank.
    Apologies if the answer is somewhere and I've missed it.
    It could be a wider problem with my MobileMe, but iWeb is where it first occurred.
    I recently had my personal website forwarding to my MobileMe site, and was using the MobileMe webspace to host my site. I had set my personal domain (in MobileMe) to the personal website. Why I did this I'm not sure, as I wasn't actually using the external webspace, merely forwarding it to my MobileMe site.
    However I then decided I wanted to create a new site and this is where the problems began to occur. When I tried to publish the new site, it seemingly tried to publish to personaldomain/new_website name/ which obviously didn't exist as there was no external webspace there.
    I then decided to reset everything, get rid of the personal domain setting within MobileMe and just merely forward my external web addresses to my Me sites. Upon deleting my Personal Domain from the mobileme settings page and logging into iWeb, the website name next to my username was still my external website address, and iWeb seemed to think it was all still published (which it was, as when I went to my web.me.com/etc, my website was there) However I wanted to start from scratch and republish everything, so I deleted all the web/sites section from my idisk, and hoped I could republish everything (this could have been a mistake!)
    Now when I try to publish, iWeb just hangs at logging into MobileMe and won't publish anything. iPhoto also won't upload new photo albums and neither will aperture. They just hang at syncing galleries.
    I'm completely at a loss as to how to proceed. I've deleted preferences from iweb and also logged out of mobileme, put a fake name in and logged back in again (to clear the cache I think) and still iweb hangs. I've even tried creating a new user account and logging in there and still it hangs.
    Apologies for the essay of a post, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Just some suggestions as to where to go would be helpful. I'm wondering if it's something to do with Keychains? I had a brief look in there but it all went over my head. This is the first problem I've ever had with my new mac, and being from a PC background, don't really know where to look to fix things.

    After waiting a day for the rolling restore to happen, I called AppleCare because Apple had sent an email saying my service was back, and it wasn't. I still could send and not receive using Mail.
    Here is what fixed it. Go to MobileMe (terrible name) in System Preferences, log out. Then enter a garbage name and password and try to log in. This apparently clears the MobileMe preferences. Then enter your real UserName and PassWord. For me this was lights on.
    I am left wondering how long ago I could have had email had I known this preference reset scheme.
    Although for a different MMe issue it will clear out the MMe login info so you can enter everything anew and give it a fresh start.

    I'm trying to publish my site from iWeb but the Site Publishing Setting's page keeps saying I'm not logged into Mobileme - and I am.  I've restarted, checked for updates, downloaded the updated iWeb.  Thanks for any insight! 

    Try this:
    go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
    login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
    login with your correct username and password, launch iWeb and try again.

    MobileMe feature is No more available and supported by Apple and to use your iCloud Account and sync your Calendar on Mac you need to have Mac Os x Lion (10.7.5 or Later).

    But you can try to login to http://www.icloud.com/ using Safari Browser and try to access your Calendar from there.

However, when I try to log in from the Elements 10 application, I enter the same login information and a dialog box says "signing in" with a "barber-pole" type action bar running.     When you log in from the web you are logging into Adobe Revel these days. PSE 10 understands nothing about Revel, which didn't exist when it was created. If you want to use Revel now that photoshop.com is gone, you must use a web browser, or, if you have a Mac, the free app from the App Store, not PSE 10 itself.

    Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

I went to "view" then "toolbars" and de-selected "yahoo toolbar" and then moved the curser over my firefox page and it now works completely including the problem area (the top 3 cm of each screen).     Try disabling hardware acceleration. Many visual bugs can be attributed to issues with graphics drivers.

    You may be to late to start - new android phones have the same protection and by June next year all of them will. Best of luck. If you really apple customer you can find your original receipt and or request a copy and use it as proof to unlock phone. If you didn't purchase from Apple, you still have option to attempt
    to look through your icloud accounts and verify that neither one is the one that you need. And if it is not your account and you didn't purchase directly from Apple then you are the victim of Apple's attempt to render stolen/lost phones useless, to bring down theft. Question if you deserve it is besides the point, but at the very least you should have learned to manage your apple/icloud id by now being a loyal apple customer you are...
