Why does "memory installed" window keep showing up every restart?

I have tried repairing permissions and resetting the PRAM and still the "Memory is installed in the correct slots" notifier window keeps popping up on every restart. Can anyone help me get rid of the bugger?
Thanks,
Dusty

I am logged in as system admin (me) and the Directory Utility now shows me as 'Authenticated as Root'
You do not log in with your own account name.  You log in using the account name root with the password you created for root according to that apple article.  You didn't read or missed the portion of that article which says:
How to log in as root
Use these steps for Mac OS X v10.2 or later
   1. If you are logged in, choose Log Out from the Apple menu.
   2. If you are logging in from a list of usernames with pictures, click Other.
   3. In the Name field, type: root
   4. In the Password field, type the password you defined in the steps above.
Note step 3.

Why does my iPad mini keep shutting off every two seconds?

I doubt that anyone here can answer that question with any validity...
That being said, try to reset the device:
    *Device reset*
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • Why does my macbook pro keep showing me the force quit screen and states that there is not enough memory?  The activity monitor shows that there is plenty of memory available.

The message displayed in the Force Quit Applications window says "Your Mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory.  The only applications that I have open are Safari and Finder and I am simply reading a discussion board.

It would appear that this error can be caused by an excessive system demand for swap space that exceeds the maximum allocation. Just try restarting the computer.
I found a possible solution for finding the cause of the error. Open Activity Monitor. Be sure you have the Real Memory column showing and the Processes dropdown menu set to All Processes. Select the Real Mem column and sort in descending order. Leave Activity Monitor open. The next time the error appears the application at the top of the column is the one causing the error.

  • Why does the video window keep minimising then opening again?

I'm slowly working through all the problems I am having with my laptop, and this one is just a bit weird - nothing more than an inconvenience, but it sorts itself out.
If i am watching a video / TV show in iTunes (opened in new window, not in iTunes window) and am doing something else (eg using safari), then i try to move the movie (as it is now not the active window), sometimes it moves, sometimes it pauses for no reason (I am clicking the bar with the videos name in) and sometimes it freezes, the video window minimises then instantly comes back up from the dock...
Does anyone know why it may be doing this?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

This can be a problem with session restore.<br />
Firefox stores session data every 10 seconds to make it possible to restore a crashed session.<br />
If you have (security) software that interferes with that or have many tabs open then that cause cause a delay.<br />
You can try to increase the session store saving interval to see if that has any effect on the freezes.

Sounds like some of the templates provided by apple.  Google lorem ipsum for info on the filler text used.

  • Why does find my iphone keep showing inaccurate locations

when trying to locate my iphone 3g from my computer windows 7 it keeps giving me the incorrect locations and it hits back often on the same location throughout the day. Often times when i press the refresh button it shows my phone to be in one place and then instantly moves it back to another place. Also on Google's Location History it  shows the exact points of location to be the same as Find my iphone locations. Is it a glich or is my iphone really going to these places?

    Hi lissadn,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article covers the factors involved in location accuracy and some suggestions for improving it:
    iOS 7: Understanding Location Services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5594
    About location precision or accuracy
Depending on your device and available services, Location Services uses a combination of cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS to determine your location. If you're not within a clear line of sight to GPS satellites, your device can determine your location using crowd-sourced Wi-Fi5 and cell tower locations or iBeacons.
Apps that can show your location on the screen, including Maps, indicate your current (approximate) location using a blue marker. If your location can’t be determined precisely, a blue circle also appears around the marker. The size of the circle shows how precisely your location can be determined—the smaller the circle, the greater the precision.
Note: When Location Services is active, a purple or gray arrow icon appears in the status bar.
Maps, directions, and location-based apps depend on data services. These data services are subject to change and may not be available in all geographic areas, resulting in maps, directions, or location-based information that may be unavailable, inaccurate, or incomplete. Compare the information provided on the device to your surroundings and defer to posted signs to resolve any discrepancies.
    Improving GPS accuracy2,4
GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time. Use these tips to improve GPS accuracy:
Ensure the date, time, and time zone are correctly set on the device in Settings > General > Date & Time. If possible, use Set Automatically.
Important: Incorrect settings on your computer can sync to your device. Verify the date, time, and time zone on any computer that syncs with your device.
    Restart your device.
Verify that you have a cellular or Wi-Fi network connection. This allows the Assisted GPS (A-GPS) on the device to locate visible GPS satellites faster, in addition to providing initial location information using the Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
Note: Microcells (sometimes called Femtocells) aren't supported with Location Services.
Maintain a clear view of the horizon in several directions. Keep in mind that walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line of sight to GPS satellites. When this occurs, your device will automatically use Wi-Fi or cellular networks to determine your position until the GPS satellites are visible again.
Crowd-sourced Wi-Fi and cellular Location Services
If Location Services is on, your device will periodically send the geo-tagged locations of nearby Wi-Fi hotspots and cell towers in an anonymous and encrypted form to Apple to augment Apple's crowd-sourced database of Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower locations. In addition, if you're traveling (for example, in a car) and Location Services is on, a GPS-enabled iOS device will also periodically send GPS locations and travel speed information in an anonymous and encrypted form to Apple to be used for building up Apple's crowd-sourced road traffic database. The crowd-sourced location data gathered by Apple doesn't personally identify you.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Why does my T-Bird keep showing read messages as 'unread' even after recatagorizing them repeatedly?

    Running T-Bird 24.4.0 on Win 7 PC.
I have several 'bugs' to address.
    1) Although I've transferred thousands of old e-mails to 'Achieves', have 'compacted' every file repeatedly [see: Unable to write the email to the mailbox'], I still get the 'Unable to write...' error message requiring me to <Enter> for each individual message to download the bulk of my e-mail from my Yahoo!' mailbox.
    2) Regardless of how many times I've recategorized my saved e-mail to 'read', they continue to come up, randomly, as 'unread' every time I open T-Bird.
    3) Regardless of how often I select <View>, <Sort by>, <Descending>, my mail keeps being displayed in 'Ascending' order.
I have many thousands (10 yrs +) of saved e-mail in my system (my T-Bird backup folder is 11.6 GB).
Any and all replies will be much appreciated.

Would doubt CCleaner involved. Doesn't run continuously and I only run it about once a month. Tried 'repair state' didn't see any changes. Have been fighting the 'Unable to write...' issue over a year. Have read many pages regarding it (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1760715

  • Why does my track window keep opening up when I don't press anything on the keyboard, followed by logic crashing?

After five minutes of opening up logic the computer will start opening up the new track window followed by a new time signature window, this is an infinite loop that normally ends up with logic crashing. Hello 3mb2d,
It sounds like you are experiencing some unexpected behaviour when you are trying to use Logic Pro X. I recommend starting at step 3 of the following article and working your way down as needed:
    Logic Pro X: Troubleshooting basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5859
Ensure Logic Pro X is up to date
Installing the latest update ensures that your software has the latest improvements and enhancements.
Choose Apple () menu > Software Update and make sure that you have the most recent update for Logic Pro X.
You can also download and install updates from the Mac App Store. See Mac App Store: Update OS X and appsfor more information.

  • Why does my Extras window keeps asking me to reload the Firefox window and not uploading my new plug ins even after I've reloaded it already?

I have installed new versions of my plug ins and reloaded the Firefox page, but I noticed one of them wasn't working (the United States English Spellchecker 5.0.0) so I reinstalled it and rebooted the page once again. But it's not working and no matter how many times I reboot the page, it still asks me to do it. What can I do to solve this problem?
This is the first time it has happened.

This can happen if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt. Try deleting those files as shown in the corrupt extension files section of the [[Unable to install add-ons#Corrupt extension files|unable to install add-ons]] article.

I can't figure out what the ek942a3cc9 is. Is this a virus?
    Highly unlikely.
The likeliest explanation is that it's a Remembrance of Things Past… That is, it's a server on a network to which you connected at some time in the past -- at the office, at Starbucks, at the airport, whatever. The OS kept it in a cache just in case you might re-connect. If you don't switch networks often, it can stay there for some time.
In the Sidebar, do you see an Eject button (⏏) to its right? If yes, click it, and it shouldn't re-appear. It might also help to go to Finder > Connect to Server… and, from the Recent Servers menu (identified by a clock icon), choose Clear Recent Servers…
