hi - i am experiencing exactly the same issue since i upgraded to Mavericks - software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28) - this problem seems to have been around for ages, has anybody found a fix yet ??

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

Every time i switch onto i tunes , it keeps checking for downloads , and then proceeds to download all the music i already have on my computer itunes list , why does it do that , and should i stop it or let it continue , and can i still play the music while it downloads .

When receiving an email, why does it say 'More. . .' in the To email address line when there is only one email address? It looks like there is more than one recipient when there is actually just one.

Have you rebooted since the deletions. That will empty a number of caches and may restore the freed up space. Also open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder as shown in this screenshot
locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete its contents. Make no other changes to the contents of the iPHoto LIbrary Package.

Why does my powerpoint keep correcting my language as wrong even when i default to english from french?

My professor uploads a powerpoint that the class downloads for in class notes. Every time i'm in class taking notes, the program red underlines all of my words saying that they're incorrect. So in attempt to prevent that I went to tools>language>Delft English language (from french) and pressed OK. IT WORKED! then..... I went to my next slide to proceed to take notes and there it is again.... WHY is it doing this to me after I defaulted it over twenty times in one sitting???

Why does my iPod keep resetting itself back to factory setting when I sync it to iTunes?

I got a new mackbook air and I had to restore my iPod nano to get it to sync to it. But now everytime I sync it, it will say syncing and then ready to disconnect but then it restarts itself to no music. I don't know why it's doing this...help!

I would try restoring it in iTunes first. See if that clars it up.

Why does my cursor keep disappearing on Firefox (and nothing else) when it's not being moved?

If I'm not moving the cursor it disappears entirely, which is highly annoying. It only does this on Firefox, nothing else. It went through a permanently flickering period before this, too.

Thanks for the advice, AmazingBeast - I think that probably would have worked. I isolated the problem eventually to a particular web page I'd been using a lot and had kept open. Once I closed it everything was fine again, although it means whenever I want to look at that page I have to put up with the Disappearing Cursor!

Is it one particular app or any random app? It really helps to be specific when you post your questions. The more information that you can supply, the better your chances are of getting meaningful suggestions.
Try these basic troubleshooting steps first.
Close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

Bring it in to service, and ask them to tell you what the noise is. Sometimes it just is the optical drive realigning itself. It could be the sign of a dying hard drive. Only they can tell the difference.

Why does Microsoft Outlook randomly push through certain emails?

When the Microsoft Outlook is on, it only pushes random emails through to my Iphone. What settings do I need to adjust to get every email whether or not Outlook is on or not.

You can disagree all you wish. But I stand by my position that HTML e-mail is more closely akin to text messaging than it is to web development. And Outlook is on a very long list of e-mail clients that do not behave like web browsers:   Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Squirrel Mail, Eudora, Lotus Notes, etc...

I don't know what you're smoking my friend, but my reply wasn't snooty or offensive. My tone is best described as abrupt, the result of dashing off hurried replies between other work-related tasks.
You madam need to get your head around good email communication to grab people's attention...
Now who is being condescending and pompous?   Are you telling me that good email needs visual interest? It's a nice idea. But OMG, 75% of e-mail users with anti-virus software have their images turned-off for security reasons and the remaining web mail users don't see images unless they go through hurdles. So what's the point?
In summary, good communication is recognizing the medium for what it is, exploiting it's advantages and diminishing its disadvantages.    You sell the steak; not the sizzle.

Why does I Tunes keep "checking i tunes library" before start up on windows?

Everytime I open I Tunes I get the message "checking I Tunes library", sometimes it takes 5-10 mins to open, any suggestions?

Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Insert/remove the the headphone plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem.:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem. Could be a bad headphone jack.
