Why does music pause when messaging?

While playing music if I open a text message, my music will pause. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

Hey Simon, it's likely because the game you're playing doesn't support it. Developers have to add a small bit of code to allow other apps' music to play alongside their own sound.

    I use my Mini as a music server with all music stored on an external RAID. If I import a CD while iTunes is playing music, it will finish the song and then pause the playback. Is there a workaround so it can both import and play at the same time?

    I strongly suspect it is the way iTunes is programmed.  I think there is supposed to be a preference setting somewhere about playing back a CD while importing it, but importing a CD and playing something else...?

    You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

    I know how to turn off the pop-ups, thanks.
    My concern is that the message comes up when I start Safari before a webpage even opens. 
    So it is not coming up as a result of a webpage, rather it is coming up when starting Safari.  And that worries me - it may be residing elsewhere in the ios.
