Why does my 4S have problems staying connected to wifi?

The wifi on my 4s rarely works, which is a problem when I'm over my data limit. It's so irritating because I'm in a place with perfect wifi coverage and my laptop and my girlfriend's phone have wifi but my phone doesn't. And I've tried resetting the network settings MANY times already.

Over the holiday I got an iPad Mini and iPhone 5. On both devices my wifi disconnects often, especially when put into lock mode. I had to keep re entering password to reconnect, very annoying.
I read the discussions and had a thought to solve it. This fix works on both my iPhone and iPad.
Go to your wireless settings and disconnect. Then select any other network, one that you do not want to connect to.
Connect to the random wifi network and when prompted enter a password. Just make up any combination Of letters and numbers until the join button pops out in blue. Click join.
Obviously it will fail and tell you the password is incorrect. Back out and now connect to your wifi network.
That's it, problem solved. Both my iPad and iPhone now automatically reconnect to my network when I unlock device.

Problem staying connected to WIFI broadcom 4313gn disappears during use

I have a new pavilion g7 laptop and it won't stay connected to a wifi system. operating system w7. Under device manager I have 1. bluetooth device (RFCOMM Protoco TDI) 2. Bluetooth Personal Area Network 3. Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter 4 Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi adapter 5. Realtek PCLe FE Family Controller.
When all five of these adapers are listed I can connect but after using the system for awhile I lose the Broadcom 4313gn adapter and I get an error message saying no networks are available. At one point I received an error message saying not enough resource available and to disable other adapters.
It appears that I only need the Broadcom adapter and the Bluetooh adapters are creating a problem. Is there a fix for this?

I don't know that the bluetooth adapters will be causing this particular issue as they are different technologies with different protocols.
Not enough resources available shouldn't cause the device to vanish all together from device manager.
What do you do to get the wifi connectivity back?
What is the exact model and product number of the notebook?

What brand and model is the router?
It sounds like the wifi card may not have a good seat on it, but I'll need the product model to provide more precise instructions. Be sure to remove the charger/battery and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge all power.
On the underside, there should be an access panel with a wifi card on it. Remove this panel to reveal the wifi card with the two antennas. The antennas should snap off. Disconnect them gently by pulling on the connectors and not the wires directly. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws mounting the card in place and remove the card. Now, reseat the card making sure it gets a good connection starting at around a 45 degree angle. The card should then be able to lay flat with a slight spring to it. Mount the card with the screws again and reconnect the antennas.

Settings > Wi-Fi > When you see your network, click the blue arrow
Then click on Forget this network
Then go back and reconnect to your wifi network

Why does my laptop have problems with USB card reader?

I have a PowerBook G4, and I connect a multi-slot card reader to a USB port to read CompactFlash media. I have two problems with it and wonder if anyone can help.
1) When I "eject" the media, then physically remove the media from the card reader, I occasionally get a "Media not removed properly" alert message. I always wait several seconds after the media icon has disappeared from the desktop before removing the media. I can't seem to reproduce this on demand, but it appears to be happening more frequently.
2) Once the media has been removed from the card reader, the computer no longer recognizes it when it is reinserted into the card reader. I have to unplug the card reader from the USB port, then plug it back before the media is recognized.
Any ideas how to resolve these issues?

1) Wait longer. It can sometimes be necessary to wait as long as 15 seconds. I've never seen a good explanation of why.
2) Are you plugging the reader directly into a USB port on the Powerbook? Are any other bus-powered USB devices connected simultaneously? If so, disconnect them and test again. If you have an AC-powered USB hub available (or can borrow one), try plugging that into the computer and the reader into the hub. (Don't use a bus-powered hub.)

Why does my iphone5 have problems with internet based apps and browsing after the 6.1.2 update?

I am having major issues accessing the internet and loading web apps after the 6.1.2 update on my iphone 5.
Anyone else having the same...have tried all th usual resets etc.
So frustrating - why can't Apple test software releases properly!

The App store
BBC Iplayer
I keep restarting the phone which helps temporarily but then the Apps get timed out again. Looks like it cannot retrieve data over Wi-Fi.

Have problems staying connected since I downloaded latest version... also don't like the history drop down menu now. I use yahoo because its what came with my DSL from Verizon. Can I go back to the other version of Firefox or can this be fixed?

I can run about an hour and then it hangs up. Doesn't seem to depend on what website or program I am running. I walk away to change the laundry and come back and its hung. In the middle of a game on facebook, it hangs. Didn't have this problem with the version I used before. I have always liked Firefox and have used for a number of years. Don't want to change if it can be fixed.

You should be able to have NoSquint working properly if you use an extension to restore the Add-on toolbar.

Why does my partners iPhone 4s not connect to WiFi, but a similar model does?

Me and my partner both have an iPhone 4s, both bought within a month of each other about 18 months ago, with the same iOS version (7.0.2 (11A501) ), same model number (MD235B/A), and same modem firmware number (5.0.00). However, while mine has never had a problem connecting to Wi-Fi anywhere, hers will not connect at home unless she is stood right next to the router. The signal progressively dies off as she gets into the next room, and wont reconnect to the Wi-Fi. My exact same phone has no problems.
When my partner is out and about and accessing Wi-Fi there is absolutely no problem at all, it connects fine and is completely usable as you would expect. The only issue is our connecting at home.
I have already attempted to reset the network settings and this gave a very weak signal, but useable. She left the house, came back, and once again the iPhone wouldn't find the Wi-Fi.
Going into my router, it showed the device as 'Inactive', so I deleted it to try and let it detect the phone as new, but while it allowed me to connect it to the router like before, it is not showing as a detected device in my router settings.
EDIT : 5 minutes after connecting, the phone has once again reverted to a 3G only signal and has lost the Wi-Fi connection.
My partner tells me that there was no problem before changing the security of the router about 7-8 months ago from WEP to WPA2, but I don't necessarily believe that. I don't really see this as a problem anyway because in the past I've found the lesser security settings to cover up other problems along the way.
What else can I try to get this sorted? I'm thinking that there is an actual problem with the phone rather than a settings issue, however it would be good to get some other advice.

I bought a new MacBook Pro (Mac Os 10.8.4) when conecting my mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E122) the computer does not read it at all. I do not have problems when connecting it to my former computer (PC) and a Mac from last year. Any suggestions?

I bought a new MacBook Pro (Mac Os 10.8.4) when conecting my mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E122) the computer does not read it at all. I do not have problems when connecting it to my former computer (PC) and a Mac from last year. Any suggestions?

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

iOS 5 used to allow Airplay between iPad (WiFi) and Apple TV (Ethernet) as long as they were on the same network, i.e. connected to the same wired/wireless router. In iOS 6, now both the iPad and the Apple TV have to be on the same network and both have to be connected using WiFi ? Why did they change this ? Means that the iPad and the Apple TV box both have to be in range of the wireless router when this wasn't a restriction before. Apple TV could be anywhere as long as it was connected to the same wireless router via ethernet cable. Seems like an unnecessary thing to restrict.

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

I have to keep joining the network or restarting devices or forgetting network and rejoining it. As a side note my 1st gen iPhone which I upgraded to iPhone 5 yesterday always stayed connected!

The steps to try would be to:
1. Restore the iPhone to Factory.
2. If that does not solve the problem replace the iPhone.
If Verizon is offering to replace the iPhone for free under warranty I would go with that option.
