Why does my blackberry eat SD cards?

I am extremely pissed off and if this issue is not resolved then I will never  buy a Blackberry ever again. I have never had this much trouble with a phone. So far its ruined 2 SD cards...I had reloaded the OS on the phone since it had locked up and want and today I went to walmart to buy a new SD card. I put into my computer to load some ringtones on it and it was working in the phone. Well till just a few minutes ago it worked and now it won't recognize the card nor will my computer. (just like all the other cards) The phone sat in its holster all day so i know it was rough handle and didnt get wet. It is the blackberry. What could be doing this?

What brand were both of the media cards you tried and what size were they? 
It's possible that you got two bad cards from WalMart (a bit unlikely but still possible) and that a different brand of card would work.  If it is indeed the device that is damaging the cards then perhaps it's time to replace the device and move into the 9700.  I know that's not what one likes to hear but it may be the inevitable.  One recommendation, though...when purchasing a new device don't do contracts longer than a year.  If the device breaks in the second year you are stuck buying a new device at full price. And if you do, maybe you want the insurance. 
Again, I don't care if you run down and replace it with an iPhone, however, the new BlackBerrys (i.e. 9700 Bold) are quite nice (much nicer than the 83xx devices) and I wouldn't toss out all of BlackBerry because you ended up with a fluke problem on one BlackBerry.  Again, I've never seen this before and the quick Google search i did brought up nothing so, it is indeed a fluke.  If it were a common problem I could understand your desire to dump BlackBerry. 
If the media card won't work you can use the Media Manager application (usually installed with Desktop Manager) to transfer media to the device memory.  However, I don't recommend doing this because there is not a lot of device memory to spare on the older devices. You risk using too much and losing other data.  This is another reason to upgrade to the 9700 Bold2.  The newer devices have a lot more application/device memory.
