Why does my calendar shut down? I can only view January and February!, Why does my calendar shut down? I can only view January and February!
Every time I open my calendar I can view January and February then it shuts the app!
I'm not sure what Time Zone Support is. Time Zone is set automatically from the Time Zone page of Date&Time. There is no option for turning it off. It searches out the nearest city - it correctly guessed Perth, seeing I live less than a kilometre from the centre of the city - I don't know what to correct.

Why does my iPad2 Calendar app shut down randomly?
When I try to advance my calendar by 1 week to schedule appointments, the app shuts down, taking me back to the home screen. I've both done a reset and a total system erase but the problem still persists. How can I fix this? This us the Apple calendar that coned with the system software.
The third-party system modification "ScreenFlow" may be contributing to your problem. I suggest you back up all data, then uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Reboot and see whether there's any improvement.
Back up all data before making any changes. -
After installing 7.3 last night, I hit restart and went to bed. My intel iMac i7 3.4ghz was powered down this morning, and only after unplugging, waiting, rep plugging,
It finally powered on, only to boot to the gray apple screen, go black and silent. (this exact issue had me lugging it back to apple a month after purchase, today is 93 days)
Recovery mode got me about one second further in bottling up before shutting off.
I was forced to upgrade from an unproblematic pc g5, after iCloud, so do not own snow leopard and was told I would never need a re install disc.
Has anyone having the powering off during boot after updating to 7.3?omg. I would copy and paste your original post to the iMac section. You're talking about a fine piece of equipment, the Intel iMac i7 3.4ghz , and you should not be having such problems. Maybe others in the iMac i7 community might also have some ideas.
Re: the safe boot. That's good that it worked. This is fairly new and very, very helpful with a dead computer because at least you can get to Safari, get to the Internet and get ideas and seek help.
But why did it shut off after a while? That's not right. No reason it should have done that.
From something you said I would worry about your power supply problem or this PerIphrEa. I don't know what that is but Migration is built into Lion OS, no? Third party perificials (or apps) can certainly cause conflicts and not work as well as advertised.
Also, seriously, I would get some tape, like duct tape, and tape up that loose power supply.
Why do you need something extra for your migration? (Or is the reason your old PowerPC G5 needs to run Lion but it can't?).
If that is the problem, here's an idea. Continue the canibalization of your PowerPC G5, take out it's hard drive(s). Buy an 'enclosure' to put the hard drive in and allow you to connect this hard drive to your new machine, the beautiful iMac i7, using the old hard drive as an external drive.
I did exactly this with my old PowerPC G5, using this enclosure, a Macally G-S350SUA, info at: http://www.macally.com/en/product/ipod4show.asp?ArticleID=215
I now use this for my Time Machine backups.
Re:What is the proper amount of time the computer needs to be unplugged? This would worry me. I turn off my comuter NOT by unplugging it but by holding the power on button for about 3-4 seconds and then it turns off.
I then wait 5 long seconds before pressing the power on button again to turn the computer back on.
Having to plug in and unplug and plug in and having to wait ten minutes for it to work is not normal.
Is there a power supply issue in your home, perhaps?
Considering the value of this machine and the fact that it may still be under warrenty, I'd consider the weeklong diagnostic. Would the machine have the same need to wait ten minutes to turn on at the Apple place?
What if you plug it in at a friend's house, or an office or library? Would it still take ten minutes before you could turn the machine on?
It might seem horrible to have to wait a week...or to do this again and again but I'd recommend taking full advantage of your warrenty, keep sticking this problem back to Apple and insist it gets made right. It will be worth it in the long run. -
when i plug my iPod into my computer, iTunes opens as normal, but for a while it's been giving me a message that says "iTunes is not the default media player" and after i 'tried' to do that, i'll close the settings window and my iTunes window will freeze and not close, reload, or anything. and if i "open drvice to view files" that window will freeze too, the internal storage window. i can't get iTunes to close with ALT+F4, or right clicking the tab on the bottom of the screen to close it, or clicking the 'X' button. the only way it closes is when i shut down my computer. please help me fix this. Its getting Really Really tiring having to restart my computer over and over.

vitrieh kromontonoLikely yo have an app or other iTunes medai trying to download or not completly downloaded.. What happens when you enter the password when connect to wifi?
You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunesd and App stores and sign out and sign back in
- Sync to your computer
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Subsequent to Yosemite or updates, my repeating calendar events can not be updated as before. When I update an event (of a repeating event) on my MacBook Pro; its reverts back when I shut it down and come back, and doesn't update other devices?
Has anyone experienced this and does anyone know a fix? This is incredibly frustrating for me too!
I have a repeated monthly event for a discount at a store that is offered on the first Tuesday of every month. So I have a repeated event taking place on the 1st of every month. In the previous month I reset next month's date from the 1st to whatever date falls on the first Tuesday.
But ever since upgrading to Yosemite, I am experiencing the same problem as the original person who posted. The date saves on my calendar but does not sync to my iCloud. When I reboot the computer, the date reverts back to the 1st.
I'm thankful I don't have any events that needed to be tracked because ALL of my previous changes in the past have reverted back to the 1st of the month. I would have been in the same terrible situation as yaz999 in having to manually change every event in previous months.
Why hasn't this bug been fixed yet???!!! -
I have a Western Digital My Book hard drive which i use to store my media/data/back up. I tried to transfer some files on my desk top to it yestrday and it was taking forever so decided to stop it. Now it just shows under the Copying box, stopping but it isn't? I tried then to down load the same images t my USB memory stick and now that is doing the same. I wonder if i is to do with upgrading to Mavericks as no problems before?
I have check my WD My book on another computer and thankfully all mmedia is still in tack!
How can i quit this copying so i can shut down my computer?
Any ideas as to why items are not copying to external memories and what if anything can i do to get it copying correctly again?
I really need to back up my work by tonight - help! Any suggestions there too?option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Thanks for the support.

Why does my computer shut down when i try to connect to the internet?
I have recently found that when i'm trying to connect to the internet, a box is appearing something like This device does not exist, please check your settings and try again. My settings are fine, my wires are connected and i cant find any reason why the connection wouldn't work. I have shut down my computer and this hasn't helped when i have restarted it and now, the screen has gone dark with an scary box saying the computer has to restart itself. No reason is given (or at least i can't remember if there was a reason). My computer is going a bit slower now and is making a noise like an application is opening or the computer is doing something.
Can anyone help???? I have only had my i baby for a few months. I do download stuff all the time and i have been known to leave my internet connection on for a day at a time. Could this have caused the problem?Close all apps in the multi-task window and try again.
1.Double-click the Home button.
2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
3. Preview will fly off the screen. -
While transferring files from one external hard drive to another, my MacBook Pro routinely would freeze and often render a message to hold down the start button until it shut down and then restart. I have i7 why does it keep locking up?
You can go back to original hardware; run Apple Hardware Test even.
Remove 3rd party RAM ( much rarer I think )
USB printers, cables, devices and drivers.
What changed?
Also, this is not MBP forum.

Why does my Macbook Pro keep shutting down during installation of OSX Mountain Lion?
Why does my Macbook Pro keep shutting down during installation of OSX Mountain Lion?
Hmm, good luck then!
I'm pretty much exactly on the opposite side of the planet, but I've been to Vermont and remember its rural beauty well. However, I can't imagine you having the only Internet connection within a reasonable radius (where "neighbors" hanging off the same ISP don't count). Uh, that note only if your wired connection to the router produces no good result, either... -
Why does my Mac shut down when using Safari?
Every once in a while (randomly) my mac will reboot due to an error even when I only have the Safari Application open. How can I stop my mac from doing this. I have the 2011 macbook pro 13 inch with the latest OS (Mountain Lion). Everything is up to date but why does it keep shutting down?
Hi Sebaz, first try repairing permissions. Go to Applications-->Utilities-->select Disk Utility. Select your drive then select the First Aid button then at the bottom right click Verify Disk and after it verifies your drive click on Verify Disk Permissions on the left. If there any errors click on Repair Disk Permission. Reboot your machine and test your Safari to see if the issue comes back.

Why does my new ipad air keep shutting down?
No one here can answer that. Try a reset (hold the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears). If that does not help, take it in for diagnosis.

Hello,
Why does iPhone 5 shuts down with +2 C (celsius) degrees outside? This should be inside operating temperature limits? I´m living in Estonia and I was using iPhone 5 approximately 1 hour with +2 C (celsius) outside. Suddenly it just powered itself off with 25% of remaining battery. I was not able to switch it on again before warming it up inside the house.
I´ve been reading lots of similar complaints regarding other customers iPhone 5-s. Seems that the problem may be the aluminium back cover and thin, large-surfaced battery cause older iPhones are operating with same temperature just fine. Do you have any plan to fix this issue in the future?
Best regards,
Silver Siilak
<Personal Information Edited by Host>You're not speaking to Apple, just your fellow users. The specs say it's good down to 0°C... sounds like you have a hardware problem, likely battery. Contact Apple, it's still under warranty.
