Why does my camera roll say I am using 682 MB of storage but I only have 12 photos saved to it?

If it's really a couple dozen pictures, I would expect it should be under 100 MB.
You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the used space is still so high.

My friend and I both work in a hospital and we go in out of signal continuously through out the day.  Our problem is so bad that by mid afternoon our phone batteries are down to 20% as the phone is continuously searching for signal.  Im on EE and their only advice was to reset the network settings, thats fine when you only have to do it once but Im doing it up to 20 times in 1 day.  It makes me hate my iphone for the first time in 5 years.

Why does my camera connection kit not work with my ipad 1 after updating on ios 5? What can I do to make it work again?

It should. It will only respond if there's something on the card for it to respond to, so do you have pics on the card?
And if it's messing up; try giving the iPad a restart. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see hte red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. That can clear up any glitches on the device itself.

Are you getting a four language screen telling you to restart?  That's a kernel panic.   That can often happen due to RAM or data corruption issues.   See my FAQ*:

  • Why does my Mac stay on the white screen when I turn it on?

Why does my Mac stay on white screen when I turn it on?

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 3
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 4
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 5
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 6.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 6
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 7
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 8
Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 9
This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a boot failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 10
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Why does my camera roll use 10GB of my space, when I only have 508 photo's and video's on my camera roll?

I have some problems with the space on my Iphone 4s. I always get a message that says that I can't rec or can't take another picture because I don't have enough space on my phone. When I go to settings and check, my photo's and video's use almost 10GB (9,8GB). I have 407 pictures and 101 video's (not very long videos, more like short but many). In total i have 508 photo's and video's in my camera roll. My friends have like over a thousand pictures and video's, but they haven't used like 10GB of their space. So why does my 508 picutures and videos use som much more space??

Videos add up fast.  A 30 second video on a 4S could easily be 85 MB.  101 of these would be almost 8.6 GB.  Add 407 photos at 3 MB each and you reach 9.8 GB.
I would suggest you import some of these to your computer (especially some of the vidoes) and delete them from your phone, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Why Does My Camera Stop Recording in the Middle of a Video??

Why does my Rebel T3i stop recording in the middle of me video taping?? Is it because I do not have enough space on my camera for a video? It lets me take plenty more pictures. And when it stops in the middle of a recording, I start recording again, and it works for a little while then stops again! I really don't get it. It is extremely frustrating because I am left with all these chopped up video segments and I completely miss something that my baby is doing (the reason I started taping in the first place!) I am begining to wonder if I should just invest in a video camera instead of taping with my camera. I would REALLY prefer not to, seeing as how I spent a fortune on it, and would like it to do what it is intended to do! Can someone please help??

The camera formats the memory card using the "FAT32" filesystem rather than a proprietary filesystem.  This allows the card to be read by nearly any computer (Windows, Mac, etc.)
HOWEVER... there's a limitation in that filesystem that no single file can grow above a specific size.  That size is 4GB.
Also, the camera documentation describes that the camera will stop just 1 second short of the 30 minute mark regardless of the file size.
In pro video, movies are normally constructed by bringing together many very short clips.  The one-long-continuous-take video style isn't used.  If you are attempting to record a long event in one-long-continuous-take then it would be better to use a video camera for the task.

  • Why does permission not stay repaired?

Every time I repair permissions Disk Utility reports the following:
Group differs on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be 80; group is 0.
DU reports it as repaired every time, but then the next time it's the same thing.
Why won't the permission repair "stick"?

    Thank you both.
Everything works as expected, but if that is the case why does DU indicate the permissions need to be repaired?
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I realize things permission issues arise from time to time, and over the years there have been occasions when Apple has issued a "list of permission errors which can be safely ignored."
But it's just a minor annoyance.
