Don't think CSS is necessary here John.  This is a newsletter.  There should be no external CSS as that won't load in most email clients.  Div's won't work that well either.  Some rules with email newsletters are, tables only, 600px (or 650px) width.  Here's some additional resources on building newsletters:

  • Why does my cursor keep disappearing in the Google search bar?

When using FF or Google Chrome, I've noticed that my cursor keeps disappearing when using the Google search bar. I've tried using all the about:config tips, I've downgraded to earlier versions, I've pressed F7, I've unchecked the "hide cursor while typing" option in my mouse properties, I've checked for driver updates, I've tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, and I've checked another computer in our home as well. Same thing there. This seems to have become a problem in the last few days. IE seems unaffected by it. Just FF and Chrome.

No sir, there are no other tabs open, when it happens. For now, I've found a workaround, and I invite you to test it yourself.
I've been working on this problem all day. I've noticed that the cursor blinks very slowly in the Google search bar. If you press a key while the cursor is blinking "off", it will stay off until you let go of what key you're pressing. Conversely, if you press a key while the cursor is blinking "on", the cursor will remain visible as you type.
In IE, the cursor blinks much more rapidly, and blinks more "on" than "off." As a result the cursor remains on, no matter what you type or when, or what key you press, including the spacebar. This is not the case in FF or Chrome.
It was suggested in the Google forums that disabling "autocomplete" has helped with this problem. I followed the instructions and successfully disabled the "auto-complete" feature on Google. When I did that, I immediately noticed that the cursor blink speed doubled, like what I'm used to seeing. Further, no matter what I did, the cursor did NOT disappear anymore.
The link for google with autocomplete disabled is http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
Go there and see if you notice a difference in the blink speed of the cursor. On my computer, the difference is drastic. While I do enjoy "auto-complete" and will miss this feature, I generally don't rely on it, and much prefer a consistent cursor.
I greatly look forward to your feedback on this. If you figure out a way to have Google work normally without this workaround, I will be forever in your debt.

  • When you are loading a CD in iTunes why does the artist scrolling jump around

With every version of itunes: While I am adding a CD into my iTunes Library, I like to scroll through the artists names and sometimes cleaning up my library. But everytime I am adding in a CD the arists names jump around. Basically if i am scrolling down the alpha order of artists in the left artists pane, unless I act really fast it jumps back to A at the very beginning. If if I am able to clik and highlight a particular name, sometimes it wont say and again jumps back to the top. All is well when I am not loading in music. This happens always and it seems that itunes cannot do multi things at once.
Anyone have a solutiuon or is it just a part of the application.

I don't believe that the album artwork will be retrieved. Songs purchased form the iTunes music store sometimes arrive with the album artwork if its available... but this is special a feature of the iTunes Music Store.
You can manually add album artwork to your library.
Just go into the online Help within iTunes, and search for 'art'.
You'll be shown detailed instructions on how to add your own artwork.

  • Why does my cursor keep disappearing on Firefox (and nothing else) when it's not being moved?

If I'm not moving the cursor it disappears entirely, which is highly annoying. It only does this on Firefox, nothing else. It went through a permanently flickering period before this, too.

Thanks for the advice, AmazingBeast - I think that probably would have worked. I isolated the problem eventually to a particular web page I'd been using a lot and had kept open. Once I closed it everything was fine again, although it means whenever I want to look at that page I have to put up with the Disappearing Cursor!

  • Why does the cursor keep going to the address bar and how can i stop it from doing that?

For some reason after one of your updates, the cursor on the browser always goes to the address bar. It deletes the address and wants me to type in a search term. I have gone through the necessary changes that your support page suggested to turn that feature off, but it still does it.
It is seriously irritating and inconvenient. How do I stop it from doing that. I am very close to not using Foxfire anymore as my default Browser. Please let me know how to fix this problem.

For me at least, it's not a mouse setting.
It started after an update a couple of months back and nothing I can do will change it. Tried running in safe mode, it does it, tried a reset, still does it. uninstalled, reinstalled, does it now too.
    It's infuriating!
    Currently running version 31.

  • My cursor keeps jumping around my screen and I have to click it back to type

I type for 3 words and the cursor disapears, I have to find it and click it back to where I need it.  I have already tried unplugging and holding the start button for 5 seconds.
Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Mblri,
Sorry to hear about your problem, you didnt specify what type of pointer device your using, it sounds like your mouse or trackpad is moving the cursor around on you, if its wireless you might consider replacing the batteries and reconnecting it to your system.
If its a corded mouse, i would suggest trying another mouse to see if its the mouse causing the issue.
Please respond back with your results.
    Good luck.

  • So...why does my cursor keep freezing in Lion?

My cursor freezes, and I'm not sure how to fix it or why it's occuring. It sometimes freezes when I'm in Safari, but, alas, I can't now recall if that is the only time it freezes. I'm using the 10.7.3 operating system and the latest Safari. Any help out there? Are others having this problem? Thanks.

  • Why does my cursor suddenly jump to the bottom left of my screen?

Using a Magic Trackpad with a Macbook 5.1 running Snow Leopard.
Occassionally I'll click and the cursor will suddenly jump to the bottom left of the screen. (Sometimes opening the App Store or flicking to Finder!)
    Anyone got any ideas?

I've had this problem since I bought it. I use a Mac Pro and the Magic Track Pad has become an $80 coaster. It's erratic and impossible to use for more than a few minutes. Good luck getting an answer, I've been looking for some time and then gave up.

  • Why does my cursor keep disappearing?

I can't type it's so frustrating! Every 10 or so letters I type I have to reclick on the area I'm typing to be able to continue. It stops and then makes some stupid sound.  To type this I had to reset the cursor 12 times.
    HELP!!!!!

Since this is a MacBook Pro, you might ask your question in that forum; this forum is for iMac users.
You might check to see if the problem still happens when you Safe Boot Mac OS X.  If the problem isn't there when you Safe Boot, then it's probably related to a third-party program or startup item.
When something is handling keyboard input, we say it has "focus".  When you're typing into a text field, then that field has focus.  If you click somewhere else, then focus moves to where you clicked.  What you're describing sounds like focus is moving somewhere unexpectedly.  It might help to figure out where.
While it won't solve your problem, VoiceOver can help is figure out where focus is going.  VoiceOver is a program that's part of Mac OS X that is designed to let blind users use the computer, but it also may help shed some light on your situation.
Open System Preferences, and select Universal Access.  Under the "Seeing" tab, click "Open VoiceOver Utility…".  In the "Navigation" section, make sure that "Initial position of VoiceOver cursor" is set to "Keyboard focused item".  Also, make sure that "VoiceOver cursor follows keyboard focus" is checked.  Close VoiceOver Utility and go back to System Preferences.  Still in the "Seeing" tab of Universal Access, turn on VoiceOver.  At this point, the computer will start talking, so use headphones if the baby's asleep!
VoiceOver will show an introductory note, and read it to you.  You can just click "Ok".  Now, VoiceOver will tell you whenever the focus moves.  VoiceOver can be tricky in a web browser if you're not used to it, so ignore Safari for this test.  Instead, start a new Mail message, or open Spotlight, or do anything else that will give you a text cursor.  Wait six blinks, and listen to what VoiceOver says when the cursor disappears.  It should briefly describe where the focus has moved to.  For example, if focus moves to the Finder, then it may say something like "Finder, Desktop" and the name of the currently selected file.  If you want more information, you can press Control-Option-F4 (you probably need to hold down Fn as well, since you're on a laptop).  That will make VoiceOver describe what has keyboard focus.  (Control-Option-F3 will give you a little bit different information too.)
You may want to repeat this test a few times with different programs and different windows to see if there's a pattern.  For instance, if focus always moves to the same program regardless of what's open, then that program may be stealing focus.  Once you've got an idea of where focus is going, you can turn off VoiceOver in System Preferences.
While this won't fix your problem, it may provide more information to make it easier to figure out what's going on.
