Why does my cursor not automatically select the entire word when I try to select text by starting/ending in the middle of a word?
In any other browser I've used (or word processor, for that matter) when I select text using my mouse cursor, if I start and/or end in the middle of a word, it automatically selects the whole word when I'm selecting more than one word. But for some reason this is not happening in Firefox. If I try to select say 3 words, and I start in the middle of the first word and end in the middle of the last word, it will only select those parts, not all 3 words entirely.
Firefox allows to select part of a word. You can select a word with a double click and use Shift + left click to set the end of the selection, so you need to click at the end of the last word instead of in it.

Wi-Fi is not required for iMessage. Internet access is required for iMessage which includes when the iPhone is connected to the cellular network.
If an iMessage cannot be sent, it will fail to send and you will be prompted to send as an SMS if text only. -

Where are the pictures coming from? I would more likely believe that your system has a virus than photoshop, but without more information, I could be misinterpreting your post.

iChat uses several port as they are called over the internet to do different things
Text Chats and Video Chats are on different Ports.
You probably don't have the port open.
Use UPnP in your router if it has it.

You may want to update your iPhone using iTunes on a computer if your device only shows "estimating time remaining" when you try to update wirelessly:

Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Plug in your device to your computer.

Why does Apogee Jam not work with the Ipod Touch 4G
Hi,
I have a Apogge Jam an it works fine with my Mac Book, but it does not seem to be compatible with my Ipod Touch 4g.
Only the Gibbson L&M app recognize the Apogee Jam, but no other App (Ampkit, ....) :-((
With the IPhone 4 it shall work, can tell me anybody why Apogee Jam is not compatible with the Ipod Touch 4g (
although the Gibson-App works)?
Is there perhaps still other Apps which work with the Ipod Touch and Apogge Jam?

MichaelI cannot answer the specifics, but I would guess it is a software issue because Griffin iTalk app will cooperate with the Apogee JAM on an iPod Touch 4g running iOS5. If this app can do it, then one would presume the other apps could be updated to do it also.
From last week up until yesterday, Apogee actually listed the 4G Touch as a compatible device with the JAM.
Apparently there was some confusion about Garageband now supporting iPod Touch and its functionality with JAM. -

Since I had done all of that in a tear of activity previously, it's as though the process did not stick in my head. Sort of like forgetting to plug in the computer. 8-(
I did not even realize what I had done wrong until I made a hyperlink from that site to my site menu and checked to see that the blog became visible. It's disconcerting to think that this kind of thing could happen to me again. 8-(
I would be very interested in seeing people's blogs and how they use them. I've seen blogs used as news reports, blogs with music videos, blogs with photos. I earlier thought that a blog was like a diary: Words only.

Why does not it appear in the Store while Browsing through the categories or in the "New" segment?

M4dC0wDon't worry, this is a problem that I have experienced in submitting all of my podcasts, and I believe it all boils down to this.
The people behind the iTunes Music Store only select a few of the new podcasts that they personally like to appear in the "New and Notable" section. This is why in your podcast name and episode names, you should try to include key words that sum up your podcast/vodcast. For example, my podcast is one which supplies various DJ mixes - so I make sure to call my podcast "House Music - Dirty, Filthy & Electro House DJ Mixes" so it has a higher chance of coming up when people search "music", "DJ" or "electro".
I know it's annoying because to have your podcast or vodcast appear there would be very helpful in spreading the word about your podcast, but Apple just won't do it. I might suggest sending them an email asking how you would go about approving it for the "New and Notable" section, but I have never tried this so there's no guarantee of an answer, or even a reply.

Why does "enclosing folder" not work from the SEARCH window?
I do a command+F search.
Command+2 to view as list rather than groups
and then sort by date modified.
When I find the file/folder I want I'd really like to do a command+[up arrow] which in the GO menu is a valid command.
Why does this work in finder windows but not in the search window?
I'm not using spotlight, just the good old command+F
This used to work in Sherlock 1 [using command+E] and when you opened the enclosing window, the file was already hi-lighted, faster to locate and saved mousing.You'll note that in the Go menu that command is grayed out meaning it's not active in the search results display.
If you upgrad to Leopard then you can go to the Finder's View menu and select "Show Path Bar." The full path to any selected item in the Finder's window will be displayed in a path bar in the lower portion of the window. You can then double-click on any displayed folder to open a window on that folder. -
Why does my border not continue to the bottom of the column
On the right border of the right column at the bottom of my homepage, the border does not go all the way to the bottom of the column. I am not sure why. Do I have to do something in the CSS to identify that the columns need to be equal height? Or maybe it is something different.

I have kept everything as 2% but the bottom is changed to 11%.

Why does my cursor keep disappearing in the Google search bar?
When using FF or Google Chrome, I've noticed that my cursor keeps disappearing when using the Google search bar. I've tried using all the about:config tips, I've downgraded to earlier versions, I've pressed F7, I've unchecked the "hide cursor while typing" option in my mouse properties, I've checked for driver updates, I've tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, and I've checked another computer in our home as well. Same thing there. This seems to have become a problem in the last few days. IE seems unaffected by it. Just FF and Chrome.
No sir, there are no other tabs open, when it happens. For now, I've found a workaround, and I invite you to test it yourself.
I've been working on this problem all day. I've noticed that the cursor blinks very slowly in the Google search bar. If you press a key while the cursor is blinking "off", it will stay off until you let go of what key you're pressing. Conversely, if you press a key while the cursor is blinking "on", the cursor will remain visible as you type.
In IE, the cursor blinks much more rapidly, and blinks more "on" than "off." As a result the cursor remains on, no matter what you type or when, or what key you press, including the spacebar. This is not the case in FF or Chrome.
It was suggested in the Google forums that disabling "autocomplete" has helped with this problem. I followed the instructions and successfully disabled the "auto-complete" feature on Google. When I did that, I immediately noticed that the cursor blink speed doubled, like what I'm used to seeing. Further, no matter what I did, the cursor did NOT disappear anymore.

Go there and see if you notice a difference in the blink speed of the cursor. On my computer, the difference is drastic. While I do enjoy "auto-complete" and will miss this feature, I generally don't rely on it, and much prefer a consistent cursor.

Firefox Sync doesn't sync add-ons or plugins. Mozilla does intend offering that feature in the future. What do you mean by "shortcuts'?
