Why does my Finder have two different languages in the Menu?

My Finder seems to be showing two different languages? Most of the menu items, like File, Edit, View, Go and Help are all in English (my preferred language under System Pref, International, Language). However, i am not exactly sure when (or what i did), but some of the menu items under Finder (Shutdown, Sleep, Restart etc.) and under Window (all of the menu items) were in a Chinese language.
So i went to the System Pref, Internaltional, Language and unchecked them. So that only the English variants were selected. I restarted....and all it did was change the same menu items that were in Chinese to a Norwegian (????) type language.
I have reinstalled my OS 10.4 and it was still the same. I then ran all the updates....and it was still the same.
I have run the Optional Install on the OS 10.4 disk, and tried the Language Translators reinstalled....and still the same.
Apart from formatting.....does anyone have any suggestions?

I trashed the /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file ......rebooted....and it didn't fix the language issue in Finder.
I then did as you suggested (show package contents) and found the file path System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/Finder
I then did a Get Info....but didn't see any language section tabs.
When i Get Info on the System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app
I can see the language tab.....but it is all shaded out (i.e. i can't make any changes). I tried under the Ownership and Permissions tab to change the "Owner" section from System to My Name. However, this did not give me access to the language tab. I also tried to change the "Group" section to My Name (was on Wheel????). But i had no success in changing the language.
Are there any other angles i could try?
I have done quite an extensive search on the internet.....but haven't found anyone with the exact same issue. This was the closest... http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-34796.html
But i tried everything they suggested (except the format option). I haven't posted on any other forums yet either.

The answer is very simple; the Viewer shows the media at its native resolution while the Canvas shows the media at the Sequence resolution. I'd bet that in your case, the original media is of higher resolution that the Sequence in the Timeline.

Why does my computer save two different copies of pictures and movies?

I am out of memory because two copies are always copied onto my hard drive. When I search for images in my HD, I see a large file (usually a minimum of 3000 x 2000 pix) and a smaller file (360x240) for the same image. Both have the same file name. This also happens with movies i transfer onto the HD.

When you import a photo or movie to iPhoto it copies the file to the Library and makes a tiny thumbnail of it for display in the iPhoto Window. Further, if you edit the photo via iPhoto a modified version of the shot is also made.
These are not copies, they are different versions of the same shot. All are necessary for iPhoto to work. Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
If space is an issue you can easily run an iPhoto Library from an external HD:
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
You can do something similar for iTunes as well.

We have two different iTunes accounts the old one is an e mail we don't have anymore how do I get rid of the old one so it doesn't come up when I want to update or download an app I've had before? Just want to use the the new account and do away with old

We have two iTunes accounts we don't want to use our old account cause the password doesn't work how do we just use our new account? The problem is when we update apps it will ask for our password to our old account and when we go to down load an app we have had before it wants to go thru our old account now do we only use new account?

Besides signing out of the account, you will need to delete the apps on the device that were purchased under that ID.

Your images are "disconnected"
that means they are not in the same place on your hard disk as they were when you imported them into Elements. There are a couple ways this can happen, mostly folks who use Windows to move images to a new location instead of Elements will run into this issue.
To fix it, you either need to move them back using Windows, or Reconnect them using Elements.
You didn't mention waht version you have, but it's done the same in all versions.

Why does this forum open in a window without the menu bar ?

When coming to this forum trough the " Access the Java Studio Creator Community Forum" link on the "Java Studio Creator Forums" page, it opens a browser window without the menu bar. I understand that Sun thinks it's better for me not to have the menu bar, but I personally prefer to have it. What I prefer over everything else is to have the choice.
By the way, one of the reason I prefer Sun products over Microsoft products is that I generally can choose what is better for me. Like to have or have not a menu bar, or to have my IDE in english rather that in french. (By the way, this last issue has been solved ;-))

CSS elastic layout - Why does main column have two widths?

In my first all-CSS site, things were going well until I added content to the pages.
The layout is Dreamweaver's 3-column elastic with a header and footer. I also inserted an extra div for a Spry horizontal menu.
As soon as the main column content gets below that of the sidebars, it expands -- the top three paragraphs might appear about 5 inches wide and all the rest below are 6 inches wide. I don't get it.

Why can't I have two applications open on the desktop at the same time ?

I can, it seems, with two Mac applications (eg Numbers and Pages) but cannot with non-Mac software. For example I would like to have Firefox (web broswer) open at the same time as running Songbird (music player). But when I click on one the other minimises to the dock. I've tried varios combinations of holding companion keys down when I click (CMD, Shift etc) to no avail.

Click the Internet icon
Click the Internet Connection tab
Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
Click Update to save settings
Wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart, then check the network again.

Why does my iPad have yellow like spots on the screen when the screen is on dark images.?

When I open dark images, my iPad has this yellow like spots around the screen next to the bezel. It only happens when there is a dark screen like for instance when a YouTube video is loadeding or when I have dark pictures. Is this normal.? Or should I take it to the Apple Store.?

first of all was your ipad dropped on a hard floor or something if not then you should just take it to apple as that is not normal you should probably get the device replaced

If within 14 days you have can exchange it for another Mac if determined it is factory fault.

other possibilities exist after 14 days, but that determination is up to Apple Inc. specifically, I cannot decide what
their decision will be on resolving this, either exchange or bottom plate replacement.

Why does iTunes stop working when I click on the menu bar?

Whenever I click the grey menu bar (artists, genre, videos, playlists, match, etc) iTunes stops working and Windows has a pop up that says it's closing. I tried updating to 11.4... but then itunes says it is missing a file or something like that and will not open period so I have to use a system restore to get it back..I;ve been enduring this without editng playlists and etc for a few months now. Please help? Thank you for any input.

Those should be considered two separate/different accounts, so yes, you can do that. It's just money at that point

I tried my black OS X 10.4.6 CDs on a G4 yesterday specifically to see if an install from disk 1 only is possible. Sadly it is not. It requires about 400 GB from disk 2 no matter how minimal you try to make it. My disk 2 contains the following and the install needs everything except languages:

HT2371 everytime my apps need to be install .. it keep going to a different language when i keep it in english for everything .. and i dont understand why it have a different language when my default is english.. it only happen when the app want me to acc
