Why does my firefox browser closes often without warning or any pattern.

I'm not sure what details I can provide. This has been happening for a little while but seems to be increasing in frequency. I have not made any recent changes to my system which might have created the issue.
Basically, the browser simply shuts down and disappears. There is no patter to what I am doing, or to specific pages that are opened. It happens on pages that I have used often and, in some cases, even pages I created myself.
When I reopen Firefox, it gives me the option to reload the page(s) that were closed or to start over. I have tried both options and had the results either way, which is basically a recontinuation of the problem, especially if I try to return to the page I was on.
My version of Firefox is completely up to date.

If you made changes to your system, then you may have corrupted Firefox files.
What I suggest you do in these circumstances is to reinstall Firefox. This is perfectly safe and you won't lose any data. To proceed, do the following.<br><br>
#Use Internet Explorer to download Firefox 5.0.1 from this link: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 5.0.1] and choose "'''Save'''" when you see the prompt. Then save it to your desktop. ''Do not choose "Run"''.<br><br>
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, scroll down to "'''Mozilla Firefox'''" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').<br><br>
#Then reboot and delete the folder called "'''Mozilla Firefox'''" at this location: ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''<br><br>
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.<br>
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.<br><br>
If this suggestion fixes the problem for you, please click the '''Solved it''' button ''next to this post'' after you log in into the forum. This will help others searching for a solution to the same subject.
Thanks.

  • Why does Firefox continually close itself without warning, but reopen prior tabs, without an error message or crash report?

For the past couple weeks Firefox has been randomly closing itself, without warning. I will be on another program on my laptop and Firefox will shut down. But, when I reopen it, all my tabs will restore as if nothing happened, and there is rarely a recovery error alert. I also do not receive crash reports for this phenomenon. Everything about the browser seems to be working fine as usual otherwise.

I'm sorry but I think you didn't get the problem right. Firefox just unexpectedly closes. It does not crash. There are no crash reports.

  • Why does my iPad shut down randomly without warning?

My iPad will randomly shut down while I am using it.  The battery is fully charged. I can beonthe Internet or een reading a book and the screen will o black.  When I "restart" it, it goes ire toy back to screening was using.  Any ideas why?  Yes the software is current.

Generally? it's like when a computer crashes. the operating system gets over whelmed and shuts down or reboots.
Sometimes it's not that big of a deal, other times it may be caused by an app with a glitch or error. Sometimes your iPad is fine, but the app has an error in it.
One thing to do is to do a reset. hold down the sleep and home button for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let it reboot. Often if there's any sort of glitch or 'oops' the reset and reboot will allow the iPad's memory to clear and resolve the issue.

-The problem happens even in safe mode.
-DIsabling all plugins do not help.
-I've also disabled hardware acceleration, and updated my display drivers.

The first two crash reports have an [@ EMPTY] signature, but the third report shows a problem with the Adobe Flash Player plugin.
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Why does my iPad continuously close from where I'm working and takes me to home screen?

It might be out of memory. Close all apps you're not using using the toolbar that comes up when you double click on the home button. Press and hold any icon and then tap on the red minus (-) symbol of the apps you're not using.

  • Why does Mozilla Firefox use Google as their web search if Google stores everything we search?

Why does Mozilla Firefox use Google as their search engine if Google stores everything you search and track what you do online? I've got nothing against Firefox, I'm just wondering why.

I just figured they wouldn't have since they don't track what people do. I figured they were against that.

The form will close automatically when you do changes that can affect the form fillers. Sorry there is nothing you can do beside explicitly open the form after your changes.

Why does my 4s just close an app all of the sudden and the apple logo will come up like it's shutting down but doesn't it will go to lock screen after that.

It's definitely a crash. I'd maybe look into reinstalling the operating system.

  • Why does my firefox 9.0.1 occasionlly stay open after I have closed it and it's not displayed on my monitor?

I still use Win XP sp 3. My firefox browser doesn't do it very much. I will have everything else closed out except my firefox. I'm not doing anything differently than should be done to finish. I will click the X to close. Then, I want to go right back into firefox and what happens next is the point I'm talking about. When I click my desktop icon, a box comes up that says, "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. You must first close the existing firefox process or restart your system." The problem being, is that there is nothing on my screen but my desttop.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Why DOESN'T Firefox VERSION 6.0.2 warn me when "You are about to close multiple tabs. Do you want to continue"? aka "Confirm Close".

Hello. I have a Windows 7 HP Mini Netbook 32-bit. I just installed Firefox version 6.0.2 (the most updated one). Under
Tools ---> Options ---> Tabs, "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" is checked. However, when I have multiple tabs open and I click on "X" (accidentally one time), it closed Firefox. No warning at all. I tested it again and again (checking the box, unchecking it, then checking it again), and it keeps closing all my tabs without warning.
FYI...I also have a work laptop (Windows XP) and for some reason the "Confirm close" shows up when I try to close multiple tabs.
    Thank you.
