SYSTEM: imac 21, intel core 2 duo @ 2.66 GHz, 4 Mb RAM, 1 Gb HD, OS 10.6.8, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
SUPPLEMENTAL INFO: problem seems random, except that it never happens when computer is left unattended; when afflicted, computer will not respond to keyboard; must use button on back of computer to turn machine off completely, then restart using the same button; have performed SMC and PRAM resets many times; problem persists and seems to be growing more regular
CAUSE: ?
SOLUTION: ?

Cause is most likely internat hardware failure. Solution is Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have a technician examine your device. Or contact Apple Support.

hello, I have used these actions a hundred times, and all of a sudden they stop working properly. I have many action sets that have these same types ....brushing in light or dark areas...and it doesnt matter what collection it is, they dont work properly and all are doing the same thing. Why does my canoscan 9950FII suddenly not work anymore? Mountain Lion. Error: scanner not found and PCPower no longer supported.

New iMac with OS X Mountain Lion. Canocan 9950F II, bought new because my old 9950F was not supported by Mac. Driver installed from CD, everything fine, worked perfectly. After some time of not using the scanner, I tried to scan a document now. It did not work. It says it cannot find the scanner although everything is plugged in and switched on. And then the message that PC Power is no longer supported. HELP!!!

Check the Canon Web Site for new software and download the software for Mac OS X (Intel Mac) or select Intel Mac from the install disk.
I checked the Canon Support Site, but there isn't a 9950F Mark II on the U.K Site, but there is a 9000F Mark II.
The messgae you are getting suggests the PowerPC software version has been installed instead of the Intel Version.

Why does my airport card randomly quit working?

I have been having alot of issues with my airport card. It randomly cuts off for no reason. If I turn the card off and then back on it will work fine for a little while before the problem is repeated. The computer isn't even a year old and it has been doing this for nearly 6 months. I was running Snow Leopard, but now I've switched to Lion and haven't had any better luck. Any help that anyone could offer on this would be GREATLY appreciated as this problem is extremly annoying. Why does my iMac now ask for my login and password when trying to drag anything to the trash?

Hello,
I have the new iMac and am now having issues trying to delete anything off my desktop. It is telling me that Finder wants to make changes when I try to drag anything to the trash. I have to constantly resubmit my login and password and then the item just disappears, does not remain in the trash to be emptied later.
I am not sure what happened because it never acted like this. All of my software updates are current and I don't get why my Trash is no longer working as it used to.
Any advice?

Why does batch rename Original Case not work properly?

The Batch rename funtion for >Current Filename >Name >Original Case does not work.

For some reason it doesn't do a thing. Unless my inderstanding of its function is not correct.
It doesn't a thing by design, when having selected 'current filename' / Name / and 'Original Case' it does what it says, it leaves everything original as is in the existing filename. You can also choose to use uppercase and lowercase to either change all characters of the existing file name to uppercase or lowercase.
I can imagine you have been mislead by the fact the write UPPERCASE and lowercase to show as an example and used two capitals in 'Original Case'. Sadly enough the use of capitals in common throughout Bridge is not very consistent and sometimes even very strange to put it mildly…

HP Deskjet F4140 Suddenly Quit Working

Hello, I have an HP Deskjet F4140 connected to my iMac that suddenly quit working. The iMac doesn't even detect a a printer connected. I have updated my BIOs, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers, etc. It worked fine last week. The only update I have made since then was an automatic update of the EEI Firmware. Any help?

The Apple updates messed with my HP C4280. I had to uninstall-delete then hunt down all HP files (preferences etc) using Spotlight and delete. Then restart and download and install the drivers again. After all of this it worked properly. Good luck.

The machine is still on but the display is black and will sometimes flash up the screen again if I press the magic track pad or keyboard but will then black out again..

Well, there are many different reasons why it does this. It might shut off due to power voltage problems, system overheats, or there is a System Problem. The reason it might be hard to boot up is because your power button might not work properly or your system hard drive is damaged.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

When it goes full screen try moving the mouse up to top right of scren & see if there a double diagonal Arrow to click on.

That's probably a broken display profile. The conversion from Library's Adobe RGB is different than the conversion from Develop's linear ProPhoto, so if there's a problem with the display profile it can show up this way.
Recalibrate, or if you don't have a calibrator use sRGB. If your monitor is a wide gamut model use Adobe RGB.
Assuming Windows, change it in Control Panel > Color Management > Devices, and relaunch Lightroom so that it can pick up the new profile at startup:
