Why does my iMessage send text as a text message only to one specific iPhone?

When I am texting someone else who also has an iPhone, we are using iMessage. But a lot of the time my test messages to this person are "sent as text message" in a green bubble, rather than a blue bubble in iMessage. Why could this be? I text various other iPhones and this doesn't happen, it only happens with this one person in particular.

For no apparent reason at all, started only sending messages as text messages. If I tried to send a text as an iMessage, I would get a prompt with an option to send as a text message. I went to an Apple store and found out that somehow I'd been signed out of iMessages. Try this. Go to settings > messages, then make sure you're signed in. If that's the issue, and you log in with your Apple ID, it may take a few minutes to activate.

You can send imessages to anyone who is using an Apple device (recent models).It will try to go via wifi but if it can't then it will try to send as an SMS and for that you need cellular capability.
Does your iPad have cellular capability? If not then you can't send to non-Apple devices through iMessage.

Why are my imessages and text messages in a different chat when im texting one person?

when i am texting my friend and my message sends as a text everything is fine but when she replies with an imessage it goes into a different chat so i have to keep changing chats to reply depending on whether the message is an imessage or text message, how do i make it so they are in one chat?

It sounds as though you are receiving iMessages from your friend yet she is receiving SMS text messages from you rather than iMessages, and this is causing your conversations to appear as two separate items in the Messages application, is that correct?

I am unable to send text messages to those who don't have apple products. Can someone help with how to do this? I know imessages don't work to them, but I should still be able to text them. Help?

Hi there!
If you want to send text messages on your iPad, you may be talking about the recent Continuity Feature. To do this you will also need an iPhone connected to the same wi-fi network.
On your iPhone:
Go to Settings
Then to Messages
Then 'Text Message Forwarding'
Turn on the device you want to send a text message, in your case your iPad.
Your phone should ask a code that it sent to your iPad. In the box type in the code that shows up on your iPad and press Allow.
You should be good to go.

I send Text Messages as Chats (sent to multiple recipients which I can then later send subsequent messages to) because as far as I know there isn't a way to setup a Distribution Group with the Z10.
When I select Compose, and then select a Contact, it is selecting some Home phone numbers instead of their Mobile. WHY?
Any help would be appreciated!

Groups can be created, new icon added with latest update.

IMessage sends text messages to iPods

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1 and I have a friend with an iPod Touch and he uses iMessage. I like to send him pictures through iMessage, since he can't receive them over the phone. When I go into the photos app, select the message sharing method, type his email in and send, if I go Into the messages app, it will say that it sent as a text message instead of an iMessage. This is annoying, because obviously you can't send text messages to iPods. Is this a bug, or is there way to disable this or prevented from sending as a text message?

Two things I can suggest for you to try - sorry if you have already tried
Turn iMessage in settings off - wait a while and turn it back on
Sign out of iCloud with your Apple ID - wait a bit and then sign in again
See if any of that helps

Is there a way to block someone from sending Text Messages ONLY?

I would like to block a family member from sending text messages but I do not want to restrict calling abilities in case of an emergency.
I have gone to My Verizon>>Safeguards but this option only seems to allow you to block on an "All or Nothing" basis.

Most likely your carrier has not enabled texting on your phone.

Why can't I send text messages through my 2013 Honda Accord?

It uses the Handsfreelink system, and is connected properly (seemingly at least) through Bluetooth. It will read the messages as I receive them, however it will not show the sender, and when I attempt to reply (when the vehicle is stopped) it says the message failed and prompts me to try again, which yields the same results.
While I'm certainly not techno-savvy at all, I'm not completely moronic, but I cannot figure out why I'm unable to send a reply. The "call" feature works. The music works. Everything seems to be functioning fine, except replying to text messages.

My experience has been that each dealership has an expert on making these systems work. I'd find out who that is at your dealership. Their name and direct phone number can really come in handy. These systems always seem to be a bit finnicky, what with various device and system software updates occurring constantly.

After current OS update to 10.9.5 iMessage appears to function differently.
Previously one had the option to "send as text message" if the recipient was not registered in iMessage.
I cannot find this option any longer.

Why can't I send text messages to more then one recipients from the UK?

I have an iPhone 6 with the latest operating system. I travel to the UK frequently. When I attempt to send a text message to multiple recipients it comes back as undeliverable. However I am able to send textx to single recipients. This only happens in the UK That I know of.

It's ask the person who has that phone - that's where the problem is.
