Why does my ipad 2 have so many stability problems since ios7?

Since "upgrading" to ios7 my ipad has effectively not worked. There's no app that doesn't randomly crash, games, safari, maps, youtube all just shut down and return to the home screen. None of this happened before the update, which I put off because so many people told me it was rubbish, and it looks suspicially like the update is designed to make my hardware obsolete before it's time. This situation is infuriating me regularly. I can't play a single song or read an article without applications crashing. If this is the way apple works, I'm definitely buying a samsung tablet and phone to replace this. I'm astounded that Safari hasn't crashed while i write this.

What I would suggest is that you do a full back up of your device. Then go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings'. Which puts your iPad back as if it was new out of the box (you'll still have iOS7 but it's like doing a fresh install)
Then restore your ipad from the backup that you just made.
It's possible that during the upgrade something got messed up, which is causing the crashing. Starting over may help because it'll write over any errors.
Just make sure you do the backup because when you erase it, that's just what it does, erases everything. Anything not backed up will be lost.

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
To update, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

Your iPad should be updated to iOS 6.0.1 (which is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple), so you will lose the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change - though google do have app versions in the store

My iPad 3 has so much lag on ios7 i cant believe apple would pass this i have restored twice and set up as new ipad and still does not fix the lag. It takes at least 10 seconds to change a wallpaper even rotating the ipad lags also safari is really bad wish i didn't update now. Ios7 is smooth as butter on my iPhone 5 how could apple get it so wrong on the iPad! There is alot of reports of ios7 being laggy on the iPad 4 and mini aswell. I cant seem to get rid of the lag no matter what i try does anyone have any suggestions? Apple?

It is luckily that an iOS 7 update will be coming out this week. As it's 7.0, there is a lot of bug so just wait to you update for a 2 week. Try restarting your iPad by holding the power button and the home button down at the same time till you see a apple, that will help.

Why does the Xi-Fi have so many terrible proble

I'm confused. I thought the Xi-FI was supposed to be an evolution that would help eliminate the old issues inherient in the Li've! and Audigy series (crackling, popping, etc).
Instead it appears to have gotten much worse. What's most confusing is in an era where people don't need to buy an add-on sound card, it seems Creative would have done much more extensi've testing and driver development than is apparent.
Does anyone know what happened? I'm still interested in the Xi-Fi because I don't like onboard audio solutions (they eat too many cpu cycles), and Rome Total War crackles/pops with my Audigy2 ZS. I want crystal clear sound/music.
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on where the Xi-Fi is headed and advice for soemone like myself who wants a brillaint gaming experience. please keep the flaming to a minimum... thanks.

That is very sad to hear (problems you and everyone else is having). Now maybe I need to consider a mobo with good onboard sound in case Creative can't come through. Could you do me a huge favor? If you put your Audigy in your system after the wipe... will you poast back in this thread if the issue was resolved?
And where did your get your card at? I don't know of too many places will restock a computer part for credit... which is part of the reason I'm so concerned about trying the Xi-Fi (not to mentinoed the heartaches and time caused by system troubles due to a sound card).

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. I was wondering, why has Apple not made an Apple Store app for the iPad yet? It's been a while now that the iPad has been out and the iPhone has had it but why not make one for iPad too? It could be designed correctly to be a lot more user friendly on an iPad then the website in my opinion...

Why does my iPad 2 have a yellowish tint?

Yesterday I returned my iPad 2, the original one I bought at the Apple store a few months ago. It had a dead pixel so the gladly gave me another iPad 2 as an exchange. The Apple employee explained that the one im getting new is a refurbished iPad 2 and made me sign couple things regarding that, which I did. After bringing it back to my place and turning it on, I realized the screen didn't have that bright, crystal clear look as the original one I bought. It had this sorta, barely yellowish tint and not to mention the home button is totally, completely, not working( that's besides the point) I'm returning it today again. My question is will this one I get today probably have that yellowish tint as well since it'll be a refurbished iPad 2?? Is it possible I can ask for one thats not been refurbished since the one I original purchased for $599.00 wasn't refurbished?

I've had this problem ever since I got my iPad 2 (2 yrs ago too probably). Never got a solution. Even with over head noise cancelling headphones I struggle to hear it. It's fine without headphones.

Honestly, I'm at my wits end I've been trying EVERYTHING to get a wifi connection: I reset my network settings TWICE and reset my router and checked to see if my password was put in properly. This issue happened after my charger for my Ipad broke and I had to leave it dead for at the LEAST six months. During this time we lost our old network connection because it became unsecure and now anyone can use it so we got a new connection and it requires a password I have the password and evertime i put it in it refuses to work! Mind you my ipad never had an issue connecting to our old network that required a password (well used to). Ever since i charged it again for the first time in a long time it has only connected to the old network that is pretty much dormant and is a complete waste of time since it doesn't work right and now whats making me frustrated is that it won't connect to the old one either after i reset my network and it DOESN'T even need a password! like I really want to cry....I really need help with this.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have the same problem with my ipad 2.. ever since i updated to ios 6 it says "connecting" and never connects..and then 5 mins later it says "connection lost" CALL BACK! its so frustrating as i have not had any issue before the update..

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
Kep trying.

I bought an iPad Mini and also have a macbook. I had listened to various music on my iPad Mini the other day, however when I connected the iPad Mini to the Macbook and iTunes via the lightning connector to sync, it synced the ratings I gave the songs I listened to on the mini, but no play count, as if I had not listened to anything. I hope there is something I can do about this as I often look at my play count!!

It should work work but these kind of bugs pop up between updates, both hardware and software. Try closing all apps in the recently used list on the iPad. Double tap the Home button, tap and hold one of the icons at the bottom till they wiggle then tap the to close them. Tap the Home button to get back to the Home screen then hold the sleep button till you see the slide to power off message. Once it has powered down completely hold the Sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

Many people including myself rely on playcounts to control smart playlist to manage large libraries. Smart playlists can be created to show your most or least played tracks and used more or less as your favorites or other uses. Along with playcounts the date is transferred so to keep a fresh list of music on my smaller iPods a smart playlist set to songs not played in the last month keeps some fresh tunes on it.
Playcounts are also used to manage Podcasts in iTunes to delete older episode. Bookmarks, which can also be effected by this, can mess up audiobooks, movies and podcast playback between different devices. So yes, it does matter.
