Why does my iPad calendar lose entries older than 2 months?

Calendar seems to forget things that happened over 2 months ago, exept events in my Outlook calendar. All my personal calendar dates previous to June are blank. Why has this happened and can I change a setting to prevent it?

Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendar - scroll down to the Sync section under Calendars and you can change the setting

when you sync the calendar you have the option to not sync events older than.....and you choose the days.
Is things disappearing off your calendar or are you maybe just not syncing older items?
you can access the calendar controls with your iPad attached to your computer and iTunes open then navigate to the 'info' tab. If you set it to 0 it'll sync everything.

Why does my iPad often lose the Wifi connection?

Hello all -
Often when I am using my iPad at home (which is where i use it 95% of time), the WiFi connection will simply disappear - sometimes every 2 minutes of so. Sometimes, when I pull up the "Utility" screen from the bottom (sorry, don't know the correct name), and then unclick the WiFi connection, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on - the connection comes back. But that probably only works 10-30% of the time.
The way I can always make it come back is to go to the Settings app, click on Wifi, where it shows no connection. Then if I turn on WiFi, after a couple of seconds I see my network appear under the "Choose a Network..." section, and then a few seconds later, see it appear in the top section.
Does anybody know why this might be happening and what I can do to fix it?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Bb calendar -on device deletes entries older than 3 months

oh, yes, i've gone through the advanced tabs and it's synchronizing both ways.
every time i save the data and redo the whole process - everything is there. then somehow the curve's calendar entries disappear except the last 3 months. all future entries are still there
i'm using version 4.3.0 15 (but have windows xp - not vista - is this a problem)
on the curve i clicked on calendar - options - but there is no 'keep appointments' field for me to select any options.

FCPx answer: At least the answer that worked for me...
I had the same problem, as I believe many others had.
In my case the problem was with one of OSX Mavericks' new features: APP NAP.
It looks like this is ON by DEFAULT for ALL Applications and that FCPx, or Compressor for that matter, will not work if this is enabled on them.
I just disabled App Napp on FCPx and now it works, again, like a charm.

Why does the iPad Mini not have music play count?

I bought an iPad Mini and also have a macbook. I had listened to various music on my iPad Mini the other day, however when I connected the iPad Mini to the Macbook and iTunes via the lightning connector to sync, it synced the ratings I gave the songs I listened to on the mini, but no play count, as if I had not listened to anything. I hope there is something I can do about this as I often look at my play count!!

It should work work but these kind of bugs pop up between updates, both hardware and software. Try closing all apps in the recently used list on the iPad. Double tap the Home button, tap and hold one of the icons at the bottom till they wiggle then tap the to close them. Tap the Home button to get back to the Home screen then hold the sleep button till you see the slide to power off message. Once it has powered down completely hold the Sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

Many people including myself rely on playcounts to control smart playlist to manage large libraries. Smart playlists can be created to show your most or least played tracks and used more or less as your favorites or other uses. Along with playcounts the date is transferred so to keep a fresh list of music on my smaller iPods a smart playlist set to songs not played in the last month keeps some fresh tunes on it.
Playcounts are also used to manage Podcasts in iTunes to delete older episode. Bookmarks, which can also be effected by this, can mess up audiobooks, movies and podcast playback between different devices. So yes, it does matter.

The kit is firmly inserted in thhe iPad's dock ? You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

The most recent version of Pages that you can run on the iPad 1, running iOS 5.1.1, is not compaible with the newest version of pages on the Mac.
If you had the old version of Pages on your Mac, and off hand I can't remember what version it was, you should still be able to use that version and then it will be compatible with the Pages app on the iPad. I updated to the newest version of Pages some time back but was able to keep the older version as well.

At this time there is no "solution." You'll simply have to wait the 90 days to re-enable iTunes Match.
For now here is my suggestion. In your User Account, in OS X, sign out of whatever iTunes Store account you are signed in with. Then sign in with your store account and leave it at that. Now sign out of your OS X User Account, sign into your wife's OS X User Account and sign into the iTunes Store with her Apple ID (if necessary sign out of the account first).
Now, you can go back to your OS X User Account and attempt to enable iTunes Match. You will probably get the "wait 90 days" message. If so leave it, mark your calendar, and wait for the 90 days to expire. You can try contacting iTunes Store support at <https://expresslane.apple.com> if you wish, but I really do not know how useful that will be.
Incidentally, you get the message to pay for the service when trying to enable it on your wife's Apple ID because the service has not been purchased using that Apple ID. iTunes Match is designed to be a single-user service that is never signed out of and is associated with one, and only one, Apple ID and a regional store.
