Why does Audition temporarily "cut-out" while recording?

I have a Bought and paid for registered version of AA3. When recording a voice over through my mixer everything works fine, but when recording for an extended period of time 5+ mins, the audio has dropouts. (Complete silence staggered, flange like effect, ect.) I have changed my sample rate to 512 samples on my "Direct sound input ports" in the AUDIO HARDWARE MANAGER, per adobe support faqs. My short term recording works fine still but my long term has not got much better at all. Before this change it was somewhat of a flangy sound as compared to the current "cut-out" i now get. My inputs are all set properly, i have a laptop exceptionally qualified for the program. I need to record multiple tracks for an extended period of time, 1-3 hrs. of a live recorded podast. So far I've had to do my vocal copy on my laptop seperately and edit it in after the fact. My musical set has o be recorded on another comp with AA2 on it. 3 should not give me hese kind of problems and I would really like to hav them taken care of due to the price of the program. I am running vista 64bit with sp2, md turion x dual-core mobile rm-72 2.10 Ghz, with 3G of ram. PLEASE HELP!!! I need this machine to work for recording demos and such, this is for a starting out company and I need a solution.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am recording voice recordings from an audio cassette deck connected to ch1 and ch2 of the Konnekt 24D interface. I have only tried in Edit view with no effects as there is no mixing to be done at this time. I've tried at 44.1Hz and 48kHz.
Last night I did one more test in Audition, setting the buffer to its maximum size of 8192 samples, and in the morning found my 20 minute test had no drop-outs.
But your email made me realize that some of my tests yesterday were invalid because, after shutting down all the Startup programs in msconfig, I also did some troubleshooting of my laptop workstation power management settings and may not have set them back to "Never" kick in. So this morning I did a 48 minute test in Audition and got no dropouts. This tells me that the problem was actually resolved by my efforts to eliminate the resident programs. Thus, it has nothing to do with Audition. I was so tired after trying so many things, that I probably would never have realized were it not for your guidance, so - thank you.
I guess I will leave the buffer large since latency is not an issue for me.
As a suggestion - since this is such a common problem, why not have a troubleshooting checklist just for drop-outs, in the online help, user guide and knowledge base?

Why does my iPad fade out in it's protective cover. I have to remove it from the cover for the fade to disappear and return to normal.

Why does my ipad black out and give message "Temperature" - Ipad needs to cool down... when it is not physically hot? Sometimes it will do it every 5 minutes. Can anyone help? Feeling frustrated.

Have you tried a device reset?
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
If that has no effect, it's sounds like it could be a hardware issue if the iPad is not even hot. If it's still under warranty and you have an Apple Store nearby, I would set up a Genius Bar appointment to have it evaluated.

Music cutting out while using airplay

I just configured my Airport Express as a client to an existing wireless network. I don't know for sure but the existing network is probably not being provided by an Airport router.
I was successful but when I try to play songs via iTunes to my stereo, the songs are constantly interrupted. It will play fine for a few seconds or ten seconds or sometimes 30 seconds, but then it will stop for a while and then start up again.
I've tried reconfiguring the Airport Express, enabling Interference Robustness and restarting the Airport Express using the admin software and by unplugging. Nothing is working yet.
Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you!

i am reaching a breaking point. Things are going from bad to worse . . .
I moved my new AE into the same room where my other (main base) AE was, thinking that the issue may have been that the two were having a hard time "seeing" each other and thus were dropping connections. At first, this seemed to be an improvement; when playing songs through my remote (second) AE, the music was cutting out much less frequently. Instead of dropping the music every few seconds, it would only cut out about once a song. And it improved over time; by about the fifth song, it wasn't cutting out at all.
However, I then tried to play music through the stereo I have connected to my original (main base) AE, the problems started all over again. iTunes was totaly unable to establish a connection to the stereo on the main base AE. It would say "connecting to remote speakers", and when it was "done" connecting, nothing would happen. No music would play, and the status bar on the iTunes song would stay frozen and not move.
I'll note that at no time have I ever had significant problems playing music through my main base. We've had that main base for 6 months and been very happy with it's performance, except for not being able to get to cover the whole apartment with a reliable wireless signal (which is what I was hoping to remedy by buying a second one).
This also started affecting my internet connection! After having the two AEs in the same room for about a half hour, I suddenly could no longer get any web pages to load, and network speed in the OS X Activity Monitor dropped to below 10 KB/sec, even though I was trying to load several webpages at a time.
Thankfully, when I unplugged the second (non-main) AE, performance on my main base station returned to normal. I will continue to try and troubleshoot this, but the conclusion I am drawing at this point is that although the AEs work great individually, they don't work very well together. This is very disappointing, considering Apple touts how "easy" it is supposed to be to link these together.
I did read on another thread that sometimes the AE will just crap out and die over time. Perhaps my used ebay purchased AE is just shot.

Failed calls generally happen when the iPhone is in an area with poor reception. It's loosing connection to the cellular network.

If it does the vibrate till resetting thing again, restore the iPhone.

That's a lot of apps that are crashing on you. You can start off by clearing Safari, close all apps on the iPad, then reset the device and see how it behaves.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
In order to close apps in iOS 7, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

The volume on my ipad 2 doesn't always work. When it stops the volume controls disappear .No matter what app im on (Netflix, YouTube, etc) the volume bar disappears on the app and when pressing the side volume buttons the volume bar either doesn't show up or says side effects instead of volume. The iPhone article linked below provides a lot of great troubleshooting steps that will resolve most audio issues on iOS devices, like the iPad sound issue that you described.

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.

Why does my internet cut out when i download anything? (Don't no anything about computer so please respond in idiot language )

So i've had my MacBook Air for 48 hours now and i must of restarted my home hub a million times just to get it to connect to the internet only to find myself doing it again a few moments later.....
I have never had this problem before with any other laptops so why now?
I have contacted my Internet Service Provider and they have done checks on my line and nothing appears to be wrong there......
I also contacted the Apple Reseller I bought the MBA from and they could only suggest waiting for an update..? (Which i dont think is plausable)
Please could someone help...
P.s I'm a computer idiot so no computer talk =)

In your case, that hint may do the trick.
Switch off wifi on the machine.
Run a permissions repair.
Then go on and delete the files mentioned below.
You will find the files on your system drive (not your home folder) As you are using Lion, the Library is hidden. You have to use "go to" - "go to folder" on finder to access them.

Are you publishing to adobe business catalyst, or using the Muse FTP upload to another host, or some other software to upload?

Why does my iPad jump out of apps causing me to loose work

I purchased an iPad air at Xmas & nearly every time I'm in an app like Facebook & agility IMAP it skips out of the app causing me to loose all my information.

You are not understanding what I am saying.
The 128GB storage space in your iPad is NOT the memory I am talking about. I am referring to RAM. The iPad has 1GB RAM and every current iPad out there on 7.0+, is experiencing low memory crashes due to how the system or apps are handling RAM and the system refers to these as low memory,
You can see these low memory errors by going to settings / about / Diagnostics & Usage / Diagnostics & Usage Data. Even if apps are not closing, there are still low memory errors occuring.
Apple needs to fix this problem.

Wireless cutting out while using (not in sleep)

in the past hour and a half I have dropped a wireless network connection 4 times. oops make that 6 it went down again twice while I was typing this.
1 time is simply disconnected and all i had to do was click on the airport icon and select my network
the other 4 times I clicked on the airport icon and no networks were listed (there are normally 3 all secure including my own) I had to turn airport off and back on to see the networks again.
I know its not my network because I have an old PC with an even older (5 years) B USB wireless that's staying on the network.
Has anyone had a problem like this and if so what did you do to correct it? I know I have read people not reconnecting to a network from sleep, but I don't think I haven't read any issues about MBPs not even seeing networks (though I may have missed a post or two)

Yes. I have had a problem with the 17" MBP and Airport Express drop. The problems seem to get worse. I have a PowerMac G5 and experienced no problems with it until recently. The Airport Set Up Utility is not functioning properly and the wireless system is becoming more eratic. I have a ActionTec (Verizon) Router as the main base station with two Airport Express stations. I have worked with both the Verizon and AppleCare tech support who cannot fix it. When I try to change the channel via Airport Utility, the window with the drop down menu to change channels dissappears before I can get my cursor to it. Now I have trouble getting one of my Airport Express stations to be re cognized and when I do and try to join it to an existing wireless network, it goes through the uploading and at the very end I get an error message. I got a second error message last night--cannot remember, as I worked on this for over 3 hours. This is what I mean by problems multiplying.
I do feel that MBP is somehow contributing to the problem but the Airport Express--great idea--has always had dropping issues with me that I thought were remedied until I got my MBP and now it is a real mess.

All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? What are the solutions Apple???

Apple has no physical stores of their own in Dubai, so unless you mean that you purchased from the online Apple Store for the UAE, you purchased from a dealer, who may or may not have been authorized. You can check the expiration date of the warranty on your iPad yourself by entering in the serial number here:

If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. If you confirm that you did purchase within the last calendar year, tell us exactly where you got it and we can probably offer advice.

I am not 100% sure, but i believe the iPad only does mirroring when connecting with AppleTV. AV cables will output audio and video out the bottom of the iPad (30-pin connector) to a TV/monitor, but the iPad screen itself will only show video controls (play/pause, FF, RW, Done, Progression bar). If your cables say otherwise I am interested to know what brand they are and where you got them. If you are not getting any video at all the cables are probably not Apple approved and dont have the special chip in the 30-pin connector that allows for video transition.
