Why does my iPad lose the network I'm on when it goes to sleep?

I Just moved in with someone and I have to manually join the network every time I turn my iPad on. Now all of a sudden, every time my iPad goes to sleep it loses the connection all together. I've already tried resetting the network and also location in the settings. Any other ideas?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

After the most recent iOS update there is a problem with phantom photos.
Perhaps you have phantom photos, that are invisible in the Recently Deleted album and thus cannot be deleted. Then resetting the date will help. Changing the date makes the invisible photos in "Recently deleted" visible again:

I managed to get rid of the phantom usage. Restoring iPhone and resetting the phone settings/data do not work for me.
I had to move the Date on my phone earlier by 1,2,3 months and found the phantom photos in the Recently Deleted Folder. Next, I deleted the photos manually from the Recently Deleted Folder and the usage got freed up from my iPhone.

After recent update to airport on iMac, the wifi connection is lost when it goes to sleep and requires turning off wifi and turning it on to reestablish contact.

i have a time capsule.
symptoms:
excessively searching for network
but more often than not, it cant find the correct netowrk that is correctly stored in keychain
if i try network assistant opened through safari not finding its page, then it can find the right network after i enter in the password again. it connects. but only for a few seconds then it loses the connection again.
the only fool proof workaround for me is:
1/ shut down time capsule. restart time capsule.
2/ restart mac with airport turned off.
3/ after restart manually select the network from the wireless icon in the menu bar
airport utility is a complete waste of time
old airport utility is still better.

Lose AE connected printer on MacBook when G4 goes to sleep

I have a HP PSC750 connected to my AE, which I set-up on my G4 desktop. Everything works fine until the G4 goes to sleep. When it goes to sleep I lose the printer availability on my MacBook.

Why does Airport card lose AX network connection intermittently??

I'll be working, and then abruptly the Airport card in my iMac G4 loses the AX connection to the Apple network, and can't find any network. My iBook picks it up fine. Then, maybe within a half hour or so, it suddenly finds the AX Apple network again. All the while my iBook is fine. The only difference between these computers is that the iBook has an Airport Extreme card, and the iMac has an Airport card. And, I'm also in the same room as the AX station. iStumbler appears to show a loss of signal when this occurs, but that doesn't explain the iBook working fine.
I looked in the AP mgmt utility, and saw this:
"Deauthenticated with station (iMac mac address) (inactivity)."
And then:
"Deauthenticated with station (iMac mac address) (received invalid class-3 frame)."
What is the problem here??
Config: Cable Modem > Belkin F5d7230-4 router > ethernet to AX > wireless to computers

I'm looking into that possibility.......have a cordless phone in the office, a PC, cell phones, etc. Will clear them out and recheck. The maddening thing is that the iBook is totally bulletproof even in that environment. Why would the iMac be having these issues, but not the iBook? Is Airport Extreme more robust, or that much better than Airport?
Even now, the iMac shows no network - yet I'm writing this on the iBook right next to it, and it's had no network interruption whatsoever.
Do you have any knowledge of those "error" notations from the syslog? Could they be pointing to anything else?

Why does my iphone lose its network connection

Have a new iphone and a wireless network at home. The phone connects to the network ok, but as I move around the house it loses its connection. When attempts are made to reconnect the iphone replies "incorrect password", despite the fact that the password was stored from the previous connection. Attempts to reenter the password do not help. So far the only thing that allows a reconnect is to completely reset the network settings on the iphone, after which it connects once but then disconnects again later. The issue may be related to the fact that there are two wireless routers in the house and the disconnections may be related to moving from the domain of one to another.

I got a problem with VPN and iOS (on iPad 2). When I connect to a VPN-Server (I tried it with different protocols exept the 'Cisco IPsec'-stuff) and the iPad goes into Stand-By, the iPad looses the connection and I manually have to reactivate it in the menu. I am very sure that this is not a problem of the server (tried also different services). Can I fix the bug myself or do I have to wait for an update?

Why does Number's include the date and cell title when creating a formula!!

When typing in a formula, if the 1st column has a date in it then, regardless of where on that row I begin the formula, the date and title of the column appears in the equation rather than the cell designations. What I get is this:
='# Shares Bought' 'Apr 4, 2009'*Share ∆ 'Apr 4, 2009'
All I wanted was =D2*H2, but instead I got all of that. If I manually erase everything and change it to =D2*H2 it reverts back as it was as shown above.
I tried the same thing without the date in the first column and this eliminated the problem. However, I need the date, so why does Number's insist on doing this?

A shutdown can happen for lots of reasons, but given the history of your device, it's wise to visit your Apple Store. The issue may lie with an improper repair, but it may also be that there's other damage that happened as result of the shattered screen. The RAM may be damaged, as well.
Back up your data. Perform a soft reset, just in case that works. If not, visit your friendly Apple Store/Genius Bar. And please post with the results.

That's because the ad contains JavaScript which activates a URL. That URL causes the App Store to open.
Avoid those sites which cause this. Complain to their webmasters.
Using "Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data" may help.

Why does my trackpad lose the cursor?

Frequently, my cursor becomes frozen. I do a quick on/off on the power button and the trackpad gets control over the cursor again. I swapped out the trackpad with another, but the problem continues. Anybody else experience this problem? This is happening on my wife's iMac running Maverick.
