Why does my iPad shut itself off with a charged battery?

My iPad fades out with no warning and a fully charged battery.   I have to turn it on and push the home button a couple of time for it to comeback on...sound familiar to anyone?  What causes it and how can I stop it?

I don't think so because I am always using it when it happens.  I thought auto lock kicked in when you leave it idle for however many minutes you set it for.  But I will increase the minutes and see if it helps.

Try to reset your settings... Settings--general--reset (at bottom of list)--reset all settings
    Try an iOS software restore

    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

Why does my iPad reset itself all the time?

    Hello!
The same happened to my yesterday night when I was charging my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1. My first impression was that could it be and auto update (to install iOS 6.1.2) however I'm still on 6.1.
It erased ALL my info and shows the initial configuration wizard......this is totally a mega ***!!!!!!

  • Why does my iPad shut down randomly

Why does my iPad shut down randomly

Generally? it's like when a computer crashes. the operating system gets over whelmed and shuts down or reboots.
Sometimes it's not that big of a deal, other times it may be caused by an app with a glitch or error. Sometimes your iPad is fine, but the app has an error in it.
One thing to do is to do a reset. hold down the sleep and home button for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let it reboot. Often if there's any sort of glitch or 'oops' the reset and reboot will allow the iPad's memory to clear and resolve the issue.

Why does my iPad mini shut dow

    Hi Jenidoran,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds as if you are having unexpected Wi-Fi signal drops on your iPad. In this situation I would recommend the steps in the following article.

  • Why does my iPad shut off sporadically?

I have had my iPad mini for about 6 weeks . It will turn itself off at any time even in the middle of typing this! What is the problem?

Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
If that does not help, take the Mini to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out to see if there is a system fault.

  • Why does my ipad keep turning off mirroring

When I try to turn on mirroring of my iPhone 4 or iPad2 it just turns off within seconds. Why?

Tony, try shutting down completely anything else you are doing. ( double tap the home key etc). Mirroring is a real load on both the processor as well as the wifi.  Trying to mirror and fast game, for instance, will push the padmto the limit.  And whn it crosses over the limit, it just shuts down.  If you are trying to mirror a game, amke sure all the safari uses are shut off.  If you are trying to mirror a web page, make sure the games are closed off.

  • Why does my ipad shut dowm when i try to open anything.

When trying to open words with friends, internet or anything ,my iPad2 will just close.  Any ideas?

@Carolyn .... Words with Friends is some sort of social networking app I believe.
@wodach2 .... If Carolyn's reset tip doesn't work, try these steps as well.
Try downloading another app - any free app will do. That seems to reset something and it may work for you. If not, try closing apps.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this ..... Settings>Safari>Clear history, cookies and cache. Restart the iPad as described above.
If all else fails, then the restore may be needed.

  • Why does my iPad reboot itself, Why does my iPad reboot itself

My iPad tends to reboot itself for no apparent reason.
For example i was on Skype talking to a friend and it just rebooted itself.

I have iPad 3g+wifi 64 gb with and it's 2 years more old.
once a while it's fine, until suddenly there are "no simcard" issues after sleeping at night.
After that problem, i never had any signal using "any" simcard. also, after inserting simcard into my iPad, suddenly my ipad had this restart problem. so.. i were trying :
    1. reset network --- > still have a problem.
    2. restore on itunes ---> still have this problem though
    3. reset all settings ---> this one is good though, if you were reset all settings and you can see progress bar completing until the bar is full then next time it's finish reset, i can guarentee that my ipad will goes to "normal" even until now i only can use wifi only.  if you already tried reset all settings didnt change reboot suddenly behaviour, then you must try reset all settings all the time until you let it ipad without activating it for at least 10 minutes.
    for apple inc.
i hope you can fix this problem either it's hardware or software problem. mine is out of warranty but you need to handle this carefully, and don't let apple people say "I NEVER SEE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE" because you already had this communities and you sell product expensive as we bought it expensive as you sold. i have no intentions using genius bar if the solutions is only "REPLACE" but i have to pay another 4xx USD for a change because my iPad is no warranty. fix the problem or your customers go away. apple also has many issues right now including suddenly apps closing. hope apple inc willing to do their bests just like before. again.
    regards.
