Why does my iPhone 4s lag so much on iOS 8.1.1
i understand that the iPhone 4s is getting old now but come on remember the iPhone 3gs flawless running iOS 6 then comes the iPhone 4 it was ruined on iOS 7 and now Apple is killing the iPhone 4s already iphone 4s and iPad 2 users we promised performance improvements in iOS 8.1.1 but if I'm honest it's made it worse my iPhone 4s has been speedy since it came out no slow down at all in previous major updates until iOS 8 it's almost like Apple is doing this on purpose to make us buy new phones but don't worry I will be buying a new phone I will be getting an android they stay speedy no matter how big an update is iPhone 4s is still a good phone just asking for an performance update that actually takes affect and fixes it as promised because pulling down the notification bar lags pulling up the control centre lags the keyboard on the spotlight search lags when it appears multitasking lags and using 3rd party apps lag when exiting such as Facebook and snapchat Come on Apple if your reading please fix !!!!!
1. There is no Apple here in this user to user technical forum.
2. We users can care less if you switch over to an Android - stating it here holds no value.

I live in NJ. I've had every version of the iPhone. iPhone 5 is the worst. Or is it that AT&T is the worst? I'm still trying to decipher if the problem is the phone or the AT&T network. At times I'll have no bars. My iPhone 5 will go from no bars to the Edge network or vice versa. And I'll have to shut the phone off & turn it back on just to get the bars & 4G back. I don't use the LTE because it drains the **** out of the battery. Another thing I've noticed is that I don't get all my text messages & voicemail notices, at times, hours late. This is very frustrating since I haven't had this problem with any other iPhone that I ever owned. Please help! SIM card change before exchanging the iphone out? PLEASE HELP!

Why does my iPhone 4S not have sound after iOS 6 update?
After I downloaded iOS 6 I restarted my phone and when it came back on now sounds would play. I have restarted phone multiple time sound will not play and sound bar will not display anywhere.
I have an iPhone and an iPad Mini, but I only had the problem on the iPad Mini but this fix may work for you.

I saw a post from an apple rep telling a iOS 6 user to turn the side switch on to un-mute the sounds. A no-brainier yes, but it made me wonder if the side switch may have been temporarily "confused" after updating to iOS 7 because it added the new settings screen that swipes up from the bottom of the screen. I was using my side-switch to lock the screen rotation and it was in the "off" (down) position (red visible) and none of my notifications were sounding. So I flipped it up and down a couple times which didn't solve the problem. So logically, I proceeded to what inevitably solved the problem...
Go to Settings > General / "Use Side Switch To" and select the opposite of what you are currently using. I had mine on Lock Rotation, so I selected Mute. Then flip your switch up and down slowly a couple of times to see that the confirmation on the screen is correct. You may have to go back to settings again and select the other choice if you originally had Mute selected, I don't know because I originally had Lock Rotation in use.
Hopefully, this will fix your notification sounds (and the lock sound when you press the power button). After using this fix, you can set the use of the side switch to your preference and still have all of your notification sounds! -

Blackberries were designed at a time when cellular data was very expensive. They don't do nearly as much as an iPhone, in part, to conserve data use. All modern smartphones will use more data than a Blackberry unless you do almost nothing.
You do not need to quite apps. Almost no apps run in the background.

Why does my iPhone 4 keep loosing it's connection to download emails or go onto safari? If I power down the phone and restart it then it will connect but shortly after it will loose the connection and then just shows connecting in email or in safari unable to connect to the Internet
I'm guessing it's more likely a problem with your carrier's 3G network in the area. You shouldn't have to modify any settings for 3G to work consistently on a supported carrier.
You can try turning off 3G data, with will switch over to Edge if it exists. If it does, it will be much slower than 3G, but I suppose faster than 0 is better than 0.
I'd contact your carrier about it. -

People, Could someone shed a little light here?
I, along with many of you had to suffer the frustration and upset at how yesterday was handled. I finally got sorted out latelast night and have been enjoying the App store ever since. Everything is fine with my phone and have synced a number of times since 2.0.
But, why does my iphone think I am in California, right now (12:06 GMT) my phone is reading 04:06 Sat 12th. I am not in California, I am just outside London, and it is not some dark hour in the middle of the night, there is much light outside...
I do however have the time in time setting for London, this is, of course correct, but when I sync with itunes the time does not update? Is Apple trying to control time now? Anyone with an idea of what to do short of trying a full restore?
Cheers LiamLiam, that is a strange problem.... may be a silly question... have you checked in your iphone preferences, then under General, the Date and Time?
Do you have it set to Set Automatically? if not, do so... if you do, turn it off and see what city/time zone is set for you.
I'm not sure if this data is setup from the computer or your cell network. Most cell phone date and times are setup over the air.

Also when I turn Bluetooth on on the phone the devices cog never stops turning (forever serching for a device)iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer.
It couldn't be much easier than that as you don't actually have to do anything more than normal.
This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
USB syncing is far faster than Bluetooth. -

What do you mean by 'quick'? If you mean a few hours then I think it is normal (it's normal for me: 4+ hours for me depending on what I use it for). If you play apps with really good graphics it will make the battery go quicker. If you don't use it for much, then the battery might have gone out-of-sync with the battery percentage it thinks it has (I am not sure if this happens with apple devices though)

Why does iTunes/iPhone 4S insist it can't find a song on my PC or my phone when it is on both? This is resulting in me being unable to use the ringtones I created from these songs, but I can still play the songs.If you have added the ringtone file correctly to iTunes, it will appear under iTunes 'Tones' library.
If you don't find Tones library in iTunes, go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
iTunes accepts only m4r file as ringtone and has to be less than 40secs. -
Why does the iPhone convert animated .GIF images?
I saved a bunch of animated .GIF files on my iPhone.
When I imported them onto my computer, they were all single framed .JPG files.
Why does the iPhone convert the images, and is there any way to prevent this?

Why does my iphone 3gs screen go white after it goes "to sleep" for the first time after turning it on?
The screen isn't broken because it works after i turn the device off and back on, but after it goes black once, it's only white again.
But it takes the touches although it's only white, because I can answer my phone when I slide my finger on the bottom of the screen, eventhough there in not the button to see.

My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem. Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source. Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all. In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction? -
Why does my iPhone 5 take very grainy flash photographs in the dark will a hard reboot be safe to do to try to fix or is it a hardware issue?
And By hard boot I mean holding the home and power button down at the same time for 10 seconds or whatever
I see other people have these grainy flash photographs if you try to take a picture in darkness the picture comes out very dark and grainy I thought the software would ultimately fix this but it's been going on for over a year I usually take my photographs in daylight but I need this to be fixed

Thank youThe flash on a smartphone camera is tiny. It only lights up a very small area right in front of the camera. It won't light up the whole scene.
Have you seen the size of the flash on a professional camera? Even they can't light a whole scene in the dark.
Fact is, a smartphone camera is not capable of taking good photos in the dark, even with the flash.
You'll need to buy and learn how to use a professional, dedicated SLR camera to be able to take good photos in the dark. It is not easy. -

Why does my iPhone 4S bounce of the TV (not flatscreen, old thick Philips) when I put the iPhone on top of it? It happens after some time, perhaps 20 minutes. The phone bounces of the TV and lands on the floor. The TV is off!

Step over it and ignore the antics.
When it behaves in the fashion you expect it is OK to pick it up and follow the normal nurturing you use.
