Why does my Iphone constantly make me restore original factory settings?
I turn on my phone; it says to connect to iTunes to restore factory settings; I do this (takes a long time)..have to then re-load all apps. Phone works for a few hours; then I get same message saying to connect to iTunes to resore factory settings. Have done this 6 times within last 48 hours. What's going on???

Sometimes, data corruption or other issues are revealed by an update.
If the information was important, why didn't you have it backed up?

There's no way a 16GB model phone has more than than capacity. I have no idea what you mean by AutoRun icon. Is that an app you downloaded? Did you jailbreak?
The "advertised" capacity of all storage devices is based on a decimal definition of "Gigabytes" where 1 GB is defined as 1,000,000,000 bytes. However computers see and calculate storage based on binary definitions where 1 GB = 1,073 742,824 bytes. Thus a 16 GB "decimal" device is only 14.9 real, binary gigabytes.
Also, there are additional loses due to formatting overhead and the iOS. RAM memory is separate and not used from the supplied flash disk. -

If you install a program then elevated (Administrator) permissions are needed and Windows will ask you to confirm.
If it happens all the time if you start a program then you need to check the Compatibility tab in the Properties of the shortcut via the right-click context menu and make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected. -
Constantly having to 'restore to factory settings'
Seriously every-other time i connect my ipod to itunes it tells me that 'itunes cannot recognise Xipod. Use ipod updater to restore to factory settings'. I know this fixes the problem (at least temporarily), but surely this shouldn't be coming up so often?
20gb currently on the ipod and it's annoying to have to restore it so frequently. Am I sabotaging myself by doing something wrong? Does it matter that I have synched it with itunes? I didn’t have this problem with my ipod photo, so why is the video so annoying?
Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone come up with a solution?

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

I've been researching how unwanted spyware can impact personal iphone usage. I understand - First iphone must've had a JailBreak happen then a spyware app downloaded, installed and activated for iphone to be compromised but no one has described how to determine IF your iphone HAS suffered an unwanted JailBreak attack or worse. (1) How can you determine if an unwanted JailBreak has actually happened to your iphone? Also, icons for the spyware can be hidden and the best advice I obtained to remove unwanted hidden apps completely was by doing a thorough cleaning using the reset to "Factory Settings" option. No doubts would exist after that cleansing. So going back to factory settings made sense to me until now. Formerly, I had no iCloud account with my previous iphone and now I do. My new upgraded iPhone, MacBook Pro and now my new Mini iPad are now linked together in my new iCloud account. If I were to do a reset to factory settings option then my best "guess" is that the unwanted hidden apps would be removed from my iCloud account too... WHEN... I did a clean backup with my reset cleaned device(s). (2) Is that reset cleaned device(s) backup scenario true? (3) What happens to my iCloud account when the "factory settings option" is activated and how are the linked devices unitedly impacted?
iCloud does not store your apps in any case. The App Store simply recognizes that you have purchased the app in the past and allows you to re-download it onto any device which is signed into the same iTunes account. If you've managed to get an app on your iPhone by some other means then it is only on that one device. A Jailbreak can only happen if you initiated it yourself (unless the phone was second-hand, of course).

Please Nokia help us on this I already convinced most of friends to get this phone now I'm feeling a bit embarrassed that they will experience such things.Try removing your battery for a few minutes. After putting it back, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds.
If it still does not switch on, take your phone to your nearest Nokia service center to have it looked at.

Why does my iPhone shut off during restore?
My iPhone 4 randomly shut off one night while it was charging. Now while the phone is unplugged, the screen is black. If I plug it into the computer and hold the lock button and home button for 10 seconds (DFU mode) I get to a screen with a USB cable and a blue itunes logo and I can see the device in itunes. In itunes there is an option that says "Restore iPhone...". After I click "Restore iPhone..." it begins to restore normally, but once itunes says "Preparing iPhone for Restore" my iPhone screen goes blank and the restore ends with a message that says "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2001)." I've looked all over the internet for solutions, but I can't find any. So if anyone knows what's going on with it, please let me know. Thanks.

Why won't my iPad Retina Display restore to factory settings?
I have an iPad with Retina Display, and I can't restore it to factory settings. I tried updating it to iOS 8 and the screen went black and showed an Apple Logo, with the loading bar underneath. At first I thought it was updating, but halfway through the load, the screen went black and showed a Loading Symbol in the middle of the screen, as if I were to "Power" it down. And it did this multiple times after I restarted it by holding down the home and power button. At first it loaded normally, but then it did the same thing. Tried Everything..iPhone 3g will not restore to factory settings!
I get a message saying "Windows does not recognize the device, one of the USB devices has malfunctioned." I have tried everything..watched You tube to find out how to restore phone..made sure iTunes was up to date..uninstalled iTunes..installed iTunes. No matter what I do..my iPhone will not show up in iTunes or restore. I even went into AT&T store to find out what else I could do and the guy told me I needed to hold down both buttons for 15 minutes, and definately something would show up on the iphone if not iTunes to restore the phone. I held those buttons till i couldn't feel my fingers anymore, and still nothing. I just want to see if my iPhone is broke before I buy the new iPhone 4. Also I have an iPod 2nd Gen. No problem with that not showing up in iTunes, so that's why I'm thinking it is in fact my phone that has the problem. I don't want to take it to the Apple Store, they'll just charge me $30. So if anyone else has any suggestions, would really appreciate it..I'm at my wits end. Thank You!

why does my iphone say device not supported when connecting to my mac pro, even though it has already succesfuly paired? I also use a wirless bluetooth keyboard and mouse on the computer successfully.
Also when I turn Bluetooth on on the phone the devices cog never stops turning (forever serching for a device)iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer.
It couldn't be much easier than that as you don't actually have to do anything more than normal.
This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
USB syncing is far faster than Bluetooth.
