Why does my iPhone think I am in California?
People, Could someone shed a little light here?
I, along with many of you had to suffer the frustration and upset at how yesterday was handled. I finally got sorted out latelast night and have been enjoying the App store ever since. Everything is fine with my phone and have synced a number of times since 2.0.
But, why does my iphone think I am in California, right now (12:06 GMT) my phone is reading 04:06 Sat 12th. I am not in California, I am just outside London, and it is not some dark hour in the middle of the night, there is much light outside...
I do however have the time in time setting for London, this is, of course correct, but when I sync with itunes the time does not update? Is Apple trying to control time now? Anyone with an idea of what to do short of trying a full restore?

Liam, that is a strange problem.... may be a silly question... have you checked in your iphone preferences, then under General, the Date and Time?
Do you have it set to Set Automatically? if not, do so... if you do, turn it off and see what city/time zone is set for you.
I'm not sure if this data is setup from the computer or your cell network. Most cell phone date and times are setup over the air.

Any ideas?If your connected to wifi, the router you're connected to has probalby been in PA at some point and it's registered in a location database that says it's in PA. Turn off wifi and your iP4 will most likely show you in the right location.

my phone dosnt play music or sound through the speakers when its not connected to anything, even many times when i wanna just listen to music via headphones it dosnt put sound out and acts like its plugged into my car stereo ie the volume bar goes away. why is this happening?

Why does my iphone 3gs screen go white after it goes "to sleep" for the first time after turning it on?
The screen isn't broken because it works after i turn the device off and back on, but after it goes black once, it's only white again.
But it takes the touches although it's only white, because I can answer my phone when I slide my finger on the bottom of the screen, eventhough there in not the button to see.
This is so weird. I have already done everything I can think of that might help. But I cannot think of anything that might be causing it, because nothing has happened to the device.Let me know if I should start a new discussion instead of opening a new topic here.
My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem. Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source. Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all. In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction? -

What do you mean by 'quick'? If you mean a few hours then I think it is normal (it's normal for me: 4+ hours for me depending on what I use it for). If you play apps with really good graphics it will make the battery go quicker. If you don't use it for much, then the battery might have gone out-of-sync with the battery percentage it thinks it has (I am not sure if this happens with apple devices though)

Why does iTunes/iPhone 4S insist it can't find a song on my PC or my phone when it is on both? This is resulting in me being unable to use the ringtones I created from these songs, but I can still play the songs.If you have added the ringtone file correctly to iTunes, it will appear under iTunes 'Tones' library.
If you don't find Tones library in iTunes, go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
iTunes accepts only m4r file as ringtone and has to be less than 40secs. -

I saved a bunch of animated .GIF files on my iPhone.
When I imported them onto my computer, they were all single framed .JPG files.
Why does the iPhone convert the images, and is there any way to prevent this?

Why does my iPhone 5 take very grainy flash photographs in the dark will a hard reboot be safe to do to try to fix or is it a hardware issue?
And By hard boot I mean holding the home and power button down at the same time for 10 seconds or whatever
I see other people have these grainy flash photographs if you try to take a picture in darkness the picture comes out very dark and grainy I thought the software would ultimately fix this but it's been going on for over a year I usually take my photographs in daylight but I need this to be fixed

Thank youThe flash on a smartphone camera is tiny. It only lights up a very small area right in front of the camera. It won't light up the whole scene.
Have you seen the size of the flash on a professional camera? Even they can't light a whole scene in the dark.
Fact is, a smartphone camera is not capable of taking good photos in the dark, even with the flash.
You'll need to buy and learn how to use a professional, dedicated SLR camera to be able to take good photos in the dark. It is not easy. -

Blackberries were designed at a time when cellular data was very expensive. They don't do nearly as much as an iPhone, in part, to conserve data use. All modern smartphones will use more data than a Blackberry unless you do almost nothing.
You do not need to quite apps. Almost no apps run in the background.

I have a DVD I recorded from my tv. I am trying to make copies and when I insert the DVD, I get a message saying the DVD is blank, which it is not. My questions are: Why does my computer think it's blank? And how can I copy the DVD providing my computer recognizes there is content on it?

Step over it and ignore the antics.
When it behaves in the fashion you expect it is OK to pick it up and follow the normal nurturing you use.

This helped me. Fix #1 is something Apple doesn't ever suggest to you.
My specific problem was somehow my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver got turned off and moved and maybe even uninstalled, but after hours of struggling, this site helped tremendously.
Furthermore, I could connect my iPhone to my computer but not into iTunes. It would only let me go to access pictures on my iPhone and that's all.
Best of luck to anyone trying to figure out their problem.

Iphoto has disappeared on all my computers
Ok I did not throw it away on any of my computer systerms. I have 3 macs and iphoto has disappeared on all of them. I plugged in my camera and that when I noticed its missing. On computer the icon is there but in the package is only music. WTH is goi
