Why does my ipod keep turning on and off

so my ipod 5th generation died so as i was charging it it turned on and i saw the apple logo and then it went to my lock screen. i unlocked it and connected to my wifi , as i connected my ipod turned off so i just letf it to charge . then i noticed it turned on showed the logo and turned back off. and it kept doing that for a good 15-20 minutes. i decided to unplug it and try to turn it back on but then it showed that i had to charge it and so i did and it kept turning on and off again . why is this happening ?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why does my phone keep turning on and off repeatedly?

My phone was acting up so I turned it off and when I turned it back on it seemed to start normally but then it started the spinning screen for about 3 minutes, then a second of blue screen and started back up and just keeps doing that.  It never properly turns on.  I had to hold the home button and power button until it stopped.  I did try to do a hard reset but that didn't work either.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
