Why does my iPod Touch 4th Generation freeze?

Hey everyone. I'm on iOS 5.1.1. After I slide to unlock my iTouch, the screen doesn't respond from 5-7 seconds. This happens every time when I haven't used the iPod for a couple of minutes. I don't want to turn off my auto lock, because I forget to lock my screen and it uses the battery. When my bluetooth is enabled, the iPod doesn't freeze after I slide to unlock. I don't want the bluetooth on because I don't want it using anymore battery than its already using. I have restored/reset my iPod numerous of times.

It really helps if you restart the whole thing. You see the problem is that when you use your ipod allot ,you take up allot of memory so thats why it freezes and it may go to the extent that your ipod may not work if you dont " RESET ALL SETTINGS". I try this and afterwards it was working PERFERCTLY. you go to setting>>general>>reset>>RESET ALL SETTINGS then it should work without freezing if it still have problems then i suggest taking it to the apple store. Are you turning the iPod Off via depressing the Power button until the Slide to Power Off appear and sliding it? If not the iPod is sleeping and the iPod is still doing stuff when sleeping and it is normal for the battery to fully discharge is a few days, especially if wifi is on.
If you are really powering the iPod off that is not normal and indicates a hardware problem.

Should I do a backup to my computer or format it or somthing?
If this continues is it possible to trade in my I touch 4th genertation for a new I touch 4th generation?
I just want it to stop glitching all the time its no fun to use.

why does my ipod touch 4th gen can't detect my location? i thought it was because updating foursquare. i have erased and restored its settings, but i was able to use my foursquare before even after the restoration, but now it's not working even my location services is on. Though, it can detect location in other areas, but it cant detect my location at home when before it used to check-in using foursquare.

No, the iPhone can determine location by GPS and cell tower locations neither of which the iPod can do. So the fact that it works on the iPhoe does not tell you anything. It could be that your router is not in Apple's database. In that case you will just have to wait until they add it. Try using a public wi-fi source to see if location works there.

according to iFixit ( http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-Touch-4th-Generation-Teardown/3562/1 )
the iPod Touch does not have a vibration feature but I did some research.
As you can see in that article ( http://www.macrumors.com/2010/09/06/new-ipod-touch-adds-vibration/ ) the vibration motor is situated next to Apple's A4 chip and if you have a look at the pictures published by iFixit ( Step 20 ) you'll see the same thing you saw on Macrumors.

No. As mentioned in this article, what was mistaken as the vibrator motor was actually the microphone.

So i have the Ipod touch 4th generation. And recently i have been having trouble updating my IPod to the ios 5 (5.0.1) and it goes all the way then stops as it says processing and pops up saing "your internet connection has timed out" Please help me i have tried to update it like 10 times and has never worked. HELP PLEASE!!!

I have read a number of pieces of advice - download an update of iTunes, reset to original settings, neither seems to have helped. This is very frustrating. Like three months ago my ipod touch, 5th generation, just turns off out of no where. It will be charged and working fine but then the screen goes completely black and I can't turn it on. But then after like a day or so it turns back on and works until it decides to shut off again. And the cycle repeats. I'm scared its going to break for good.

Why is my iPod Touch 4th generation playlist shuffle repeat malfunctioning?

I have a 4th generation iPod touch that is malfunctioning whenever I shuffle play a playlist, album, or individual artist's songs. I always leave the playlist repeat option on when I listen to a playlist or artist and all the songs in the playlist will play fine, but when the playlist ends and is supposed to start over from the beginning it does not play the first song that began the shuffle. It plays a different song that is in the playlist in the first slot and then continues in the same order as the first time through the playlist. For example I have 5 songs by the Eli Young Band on my ipod & when I play these 5 songs on shuffle with the loop option on their order through the first play through is Say Goodnight, When It Rains, Crazy Girl, Always the Love Songs, and Even if it Breaks Your Heart. Then after the fifth song the playlist begins again but instead of playing Say Goodnight in the one spot it played Even if it Breaks Your Heart followed by When It Rains, Crazy Girl, Always the Love Songs, and finishes with Even If It Breaks You Heart. So in the second play through of the playlist Say Goodnight was skipped & Even if it Breaks Your Heart was played twice & I can't figure our why. This happens with every artist and playlist I have no matter how many songs are in the playlist, and a different song is placed in the one spot and then repeated later every time the playlist repeats. The ipod has done this since I got it in December 2012, and I have already tried turning the ipod off and back on and restoring it to factory settings to try and solve this problem with no luck. I have also installed the iOS 6.1 software and the problem still persists. Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

IPod touch 4th generation freezes

My iPod Touch has just frozen at the start screen when the slider was slid across to the right. It stayed there, the clock time stopped advancing and it will not respond to anything. I cannot slide it back, turn it off, slide the camera button up to open the camera or get any other response. When I plug it into the power to charge it does not react. When I plug it into the computer iPhoto opens - so it recognises it as a camera and the photos on the iPod show but if I try to download them iPhoto quits. iTunes does not open and when I open it, though the iPod shows in the side bar and the contents of the iPod show, they will not interact. When I try to access the apps in iTunes, iTunes freezes (spinning beach-ball) and I had to use force quit.
Any tips?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Why does my Ipod touch 5th generation 32GB have problems syncing with the latest version of itunes?

lately My ipod touch, 5th generastion 32gb has difficulty whenever i try to sync it with tht latest version of iTunes. When i go to sync it immediately claims that over 10gb has dissipated into this "Other" section. to fix that i have to do a factory reset, however after the reset has finished and while i am trying to re-sync my music on to my device the sync gets stopped toward the end saying "Waiting for changes to be applied" for hours on end. even then it does not sync. So currently i am unable to use the ipod tough for what it was built as in the first place, a music player. currently i am ratherdissapointed and i would like to find some answers to this problem because this problem is extremely irritating and it has kept me from using the ipod for what i mainly use it for in the first place, music. Ever scince the latest version of iTunes, where the icon became red, i have bee having this major problem. I suggest you work to find an answer to this Problem and fix it ASAP so i can get back to enjoying my portable music player.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
